Enjoyed a date night with my wife at a table for 2 with a lovely river view. Enjoyed the Monday special Bavette Steak for 2 with a bottle of wine. Staff took great care of us as we enjoyed our dinner.
We celebrated my birthday on May 20th. My 88 year old father joined us. He loved his meal and the ambiance. My son and his girlfriend are vegan, they were a little worried about their meal but they were very pleasantly surprised. They absolutely loved it.
Thank you so much for the fabulous meal and acceptional service.
I was really impressed. The dinner special was a great value. Servers were attentive and made us feel special. Loved the place
Again a great experience, food was spot on, steak is always on point.
Excellent venue sitting alongside the Grand River waterfall. Bright, airy with attentive wait staff. Food is always top notch. Prices have increased a bit though. Would highly recommend a visit to dine.
Not good service at all. The waiter seemed annoyed with my boyfriend and I. We both couldn’t drink that night and so when we had order pop the server was not impressed and just looked at us annoyed. And when I had asked for no clams in my meal he had rolled his eye at me and said I guess so. There were lots of older couples around us and the server was more upbeat and excited to serve them than serving us.
This was the worst experience of our life. We have been coming here for years and have never been treated so badly. Our waitress was very unprofessional. I ordered a medium rare steak and it came cold inside and blue. I said “I would normally not send anything back but I can’t eat it it’s not meci rare” she said “well what do you think it is. This is our medium rare” I said “I come here all the time never had a steak cooked like this when I order medium rare” she then said “ where do you normally sit maybe it’s the light” she then took my plate and was back in literally two minutes same steak with the pieces I cut on the plate with the bite mark. So unprofessional and disappointing. This was our spot so close to home so nice now we won’t ever return.
Highly recommended by my son and his wife. The steaks were just as good as he said
Had a wonderful meal with our party. Excellent service and hospitality. I was slightly disappointed with my choice of main, but the other mains at the table were wonderful. Would definitely visit again.
Food is delicious. Very good menu selection. Staff pleasant and professional
First time we had the burger. One of the best we have ever had.
Everything was good until one of my guest found an ugly curly hair in her food.
Not very impressed considering I invited everyone.
Only issue was that we did not know it was a fixed buffet menu for mother's day. Food was excellent but expensive, 70 cad per head. Child 35 cad. Otherwise it is an excellent restaurent. Wonderdul food and ambiance.
Mothers day brunch - excellent in every way
It was a fantastic brunch. My wife and kids absolutely enjoyed the meal and the service was great until someone other than our waiter came and said we are approaching 2 hours and we have to leave because someone is waiting for it. For an established like this it is totally shocking that we were told that. We were actually getting ready to leave when that was said. Not only was it Mother’s Day but as well it was my wife’s 50th birthday. I was just shocked that the person came and said that and they had the machine with them as to say hurry up. Zenon
Servers very friendly and helpful
Brunch is expensive! Although the selection is amazing - who can eat $70 worth of food?
This was the second time at Cambridge Mill. There was a mixup with the reservations (two people with the same first name arrived at roughly the same time) but they found us another table quickly - well done. Food was good and the service was great. We'l lbe back.
Had dinner on a Saturday evening. Service was poor - water was not refreshed, meals for everyone came out at different times. The entrees took 45 minutes to come out after we had finished the starters, to which we were told “we were busy”. Would not recommend this place for special occasions on weekends as they seem to be unable to manage the flow of traffic in the kitchen.
The place is great, the food was below expectations
We have dined here many times and are usually quite happy with our experience. This time, however, was not the best. We waited close to an hour between our appetizers and mains, the “legumes” in the lamb dish were undercooked and crunchy, and the lamb was greasy. 2 of our party ordered the exact same salmon dish; one was garnished with black olives, the other had none; one had a large amount of chilli jelly and the other did not. We made reservations in advance but we’re seated with a view of the parking lot. This has been our Mother’s Day tradition for the past number of years, but this visit has us considering other locations to dine in the future.
Honestly, my boyfriend and I have never been to such an incredible restaurant before! Super pleased
---with Service: a bit slower than normal due to 3 weddings that day.
---with Food: We went at 3 and ordered from Lunch Menu (dinner menu is pricey) - I ordered Fish Cakes - the apple slaw was a bit spicy hot but this was not indicated on the menu so if my sister had ordered this she would not have been able to eat it. My parents would have preferred an actual side with the salmon, not the gourmet style presentation. My dad had to eat bread with it. My sister was happy with her steak frites.
---glass of wine at $15 may be ok for some, I found it pricey. Appetizers also a bit pricey but the one we ordered was a good portion.
---sitting in the solarium is really the only place to be in our opinion.
A relaxing venue for a romantic time or a family celebration. Always good food. Always good service. Then there are the views of the water.
Celebrating an early Mother’s Day brunch. First time there, overall a great experience.
Always great food and a wonderful ambience.
Great spot, nice staff, but kitchen seemed really slow this time around. Food was good once we got it.
We went for the Sunday brunch. I was expecting a bigger selection. The crepes were premade and small, the omelets were flat and very little taste. The roast beef was a cheap cut of meat and the lamb had no flavor
Delicious food with a wide variety. Always great every time we go.
Service was great and atmosphere is always great. The only thing preventing a full 5 stars were the clams in my carbonara. The pasta was flavourful and good, but the clams were not cleaned properly and left them sandy and gritty. Other than that, good meal.
We love the Mill, service was amazing, this might have just been a bad night, steak didn’t have much taste
Wish they would bring back their mashed potatoes!
Will for sure go back though!
We frequent The Mill a few times a year. The room is fantastic and we are usually very pleased with the product and service. However, this latest visit was the most disappointing $40 steak I have ever experienced... cold, undercooked and flovourless. I have had better cuts from the supermarket.
Have always been a big fan of this restaurant, however this was my least favourite experience. I found my server very absent and the menu was not overly enticing.
I ordered the 3 cheese app, and it was served on a ceramic bowl plate without a knife, cutting up the cheese was awkward
On more then one occasion we were missing cutlery...
I still love this place but another experience like that and I would probably start exploring other options
It has been many years since I have been at the Cambridge Old Mill as I lived out of town. The service was great, all the food was outstanding and the mixed drink was innovative and very tasty. Now that I live locally I look forward to more meals st this lovely spot. My only negative comment was the chairs are starting to look a little tired, but the food and view sure are worth the money.
My prime rib was cooked medium well, ordered medium rare. The server agreed immediately and took it away. By the time a new piece of meat came out everyone was done their dinner and I had finished my veggies and mashed potatoes so I had to take it to go.
No manager visited the table. Really acted like it was no big deal. On a $32 meal I expect to be able to enjoy it with my family.
I love going to the Mill for lunch but have found that at dinner time the service is not quite where I would like it to be.
The restaurant is gorgeous and the food and service were equally as fantastic.
We found the food to be slightly disappointing compared to our last visit a couple years ago for the Sunday brunch. The food was cold.
This was our first time visiting the Cambridge Mill and it was amazing! The venue was just gorgeous, the service was great, the food was delicious and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert was sooo good! The noise level around 7:30pm got to be pretty loud, but not over the top. The live music was great to listen to as well. Highly recommend the Cambridge Mill! Overall great experience.
Cambridge Mill gives an excellent service and has delicious food
Nice place.... Brunch online menu did not align with what was served. Missing chicken and ran out of lamb. No roast beef gravy, just chicken gravy! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Deserts had no cakes or pies. I felt the Ancaster Old Mill would have been a better choice.
