It’s a dichotomy.” Chef Craig Harding sums up Campagnolo, the restaurant that he and his fiancée, Alexandra Hutchison, own and operate on Dundas Street in Toronto’s west end. Inspired by traditional homemade Italian food, and charged with a fresh and modern energy, Campagnolo blends new and old to create something that is better than either.

We were greeted by a very friendly hostess and seated right away. Our server took our drink orders and got them to the table in a timely manner.
We had heard many good things about the pasta, so we all order the spaghetti, two meat sauce and one not. The Chef made a sauce that was a perfect combo of spice and tomato. My preference is allowing the tomatoes stand out and this sauce definitely did that.
Our starter of the burrata with sourdough and focaccia tasted both creamy and crunchy in our mouth. A real taste treat!
As it was my daughters Birthday I had taken her favorite cake and they allowed us to enjoy it for a plate fee.
I would recommend Campagnolo to friends because the food was wonderful, the ambiance was comfy and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

Amazing dinner, was a little more pricey than what we usually go for, but we had a gift card. Would recommend if you’re going out for a special occasion and don’t mind splurging!

Everything was great, but it was quite cold by the window, even my husband was chilled in his dinner jacket. Maybe some space heaters? Food and service was delightful!

Very small menu, ordered most popular dish (pasta) and it was very hard to eat even a third of it as all it tasted like was pork and garlic which was very odd for a marinara spaghetti. My husband is not a picky eater and even he didn’t enjoy it. The pasta was al dente but to the point where you could barely chew it. The server asked how we enjoyed our meals, only when we were ready for our bill. I stated I didn’t like it and didn’t know there was pork in it and no discount was taken off the bill at all.

We got there 15 minutes before opening but they welcomed us in as if we were there ontime for our 6:00 pm reservation. I ordered the gnocchi with chicken confit which was quite good. The chicken was crunchy - had been dehydrated and the texture and taste was unusually good. Mild red sauce (my stomach thanked them). My wife asked for plain homemade spaghetti with olive oil and pepper (not on the menu that night). The server (Jeff) was accomodating to her request and the execution of the dish by the chef was superb. Make sure to order the fresh bread. Outstanding. The only downside to the meal was the charred Gem lettuce. Charring provides a smokey flavor without significantly burning the ingredient. The “char” was way more than flavor enhancing. Needs some work. But, minor compared to the overall excellent meal. Real pros and real people serving high quality dishes. What could be better?

I would post photos but there is no evidence, we couldn't stop eating once we started! The burrata appetizer was outstanding. Next time I will just ask them to double it and eat it as my main. The pickled veg was equality delicious (but doubling that would be a bit much). Their bread is also such a beautiful treat. The cocktails were lovely as well; I had the Lady Grey and it was perfect. The best part was that it was kid friendly, which helps. Overall I would recommend this place. This was my third visit made up for my second visit, which was lack luster. The staff was helpful and accommodating and the washrooms were clean (this means a lot).

I was not expecting a happy hour environment from the pictures of the restaurant. Italian name, candles on the table, tables for couples by the window, everything appeared to be nice until we arrived and found lounge music and loud conversation all around, just like any other happy hour place. Food was ok, nothing special, people were really nice though. I would recommend for happy hour but not for a special night out.

I cant believe you would charge me $5 for a few slices of bread, really..I had the spaghettii a la amatriciana and was disappointed. I am from Rome and know what this is supposed to taste like..where was the pepper and guanciale???? The polenta appetizer was better than the spaghetti..I won't even be able to watch you on TV anymore, what a shame.

Pretty unsatisfying experience. The service was unapproachable, and not welcoming what so ever. I went with a friend to celebrate a special occasion which turned out to be an uncomfortable experience. I would recommend investing in customer service training. The food was pretty tasty but overly oily.

We’ve always had great meals here. The appetizers were amazing. We had the buratta, the osso buco, and 2 others. They were awesome.
I had a veal chop and it was really good. My wife had corn and ricotta pasta, it’s was incredible. My daughter had the spaghetti and the plate was very salty. My son had the flank steak. Was oily but tasty.
Overall it was good but we have had better meals at this restaurant.

Overall, spectacular experience with attention to detail.

Most Italian restaurants serve bone marrow as an accompaniment to a charcuterie or cheese board. Small portion and usually in a parfait format. On the other hand Campagnolo said “Lets serve it the way it is meant to be”. Length wise halved femur, with abundant marrow, coated with pulled beef and plums. Sweet, savoury, rich, incredibly light yet so much more!

Most Italian places serve burrata with some toast and olive oil, while Campagnolo went and broke down the norm. Their vine grilled grapes with olive oil covered burrata was simply elegant. Sweet, salty, rich, yet not overpowering. The perfect stomach opener and palate coater!

Striploin and heirloom tomatoes was our last dish. We like to keep things Keto and prefer quality food over quantity food like pasta. The meat was perfectly cooked, the “green marinade” was spicy/herbaceous as I believe they have incorporated some bitter micro greens into it. But what I appreciated was the fact that they simply didnt brings us a plate of grilled heirloom tomatoes, yet they even prepared and mango avocado based sauce for the tomatoes. Attention to detail!

Overall, price range for the value is more and more than fair! Great experience! As a final message to Campagnolo please don’t change especially with all the over hyped restaurants popping left and right. People will slowly learn to understand the value and effort you are putting into your dishes

A small little cozy, inviting place with incredible food. The “Fresh Burrata with roasted grapes and toasted bread” dish is absolutely incredible. The “HOUSE-MADE SPAGHETTI ALL’AMATRICIANA” is absolutely delicious and the best I have ever had! The staff are friendly and helpful, the service in terms of when the food comes out is just a little slower. This is a restaurant to go to with friends to sit and enjoy good food and conversation over a couple hours; which is exactly what we did.
