I was here during the wildfires. To be honest, this dinner was the highlight of my trip. Of course the food was amazing. And to be frank, it's the only place to see a decent sunset on Maui because West Maui obscures the sunset from the east and molokini obscures the sunset from the west except for this particular location. But what is really exceptional is the service. Peyton, Ricky, and Chad gave such kind and personal attention to me as an individual, that they will remain a shiny star in the memory of my experience. I am gracious.

We had a wonderful dinner! This is a restaurant that we will keep returning to due to its impeccable service and amazing food! Our server made specific recommendations and suggestions due to my gluten free diet. I truly appreciated getting some gluten free bread at the start of my meal. Our appetizers, entrees and dessert were delicious.

The service was incredibly slow. We had Maui onion soup which had no onion whatsoever. Entrees took an hour to show up. Very expensive. Go to Merriman’s instead!

Montage is a beautiful property. We had a prime outdoor table. Service was quite slow throughout our meal despite restaurant not being terribly full. Food was good, not outstanding, leading us to downgrade value. We were annoyed that the restaurant was starting to closing up as we were finishing our meal (at ~8p).

The setting is absolutely beautiful, the staff was fantastic and made our anniversary special for us with little touches from the kitchen. Food was great but the service stole the show. Highly recommended for a special occasion.

Overall, this restaurant is very good and the hotel looks amazing. The views and the grounds are beautiful. However for the prices, we felt there were a few things that should not happen for what seems like a 5 star restaurant. Like I said, overall we can’t give less than 4 stars for our overall experience but one of the first issues is that it took 75 minutes from the moment we sat down to the moment we got our entrees. We did not order any appetizers and were pretty fast in ordering so taking that long seems ridiculous. Our waiter was very nice and apologized but we had also been to Haleakala that morning so we were exhausted, which obviously wasn’t their fault but we didn’t expect to leave at 830 after having no appetizers or desert for a 630 reservation. My wife ordered the kanpachi, which she said was somewhat dry and again not a big deal but for the price and quality, it should be perfect. They also seemed a little disorganized. For example, our waiter did not know the entree I ordered was even on the menu. Overall, it was good but these issues definitely affected our experience.

John was an exceptional server who was very helpful and informative. We decided to have several appetizers and dessert while eliminating a main course. The baked Hawaii dessert is amazing and highly recommend. The musician was outstanding as well, understated but very talented. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful 45th anniversary experience. Amazing dinner! Service and food were excellent! We enjoyed the bread service, prawn cocktail app, the filet, ribeye, Maui onion soup, and crispy brussel sprouts - all perfectly done! Beautiful desert for our anniversary and both our boys with peanut allergies were able to choose a safe desert off the menu which they loved! We also enjoyed cocktails and wrapping up desert with espresso martinis. Beautiful views too! :)

Our experience was superb. Food was as good a meal as I’ve ever had. Everything is super fresh and tastes are combined to please the palete. Our server, Mark, did and excellent job of timing the meal while staying attentive. As wonderful as the food and service were, the ambiance was the star of the show. The grounds are beautiful. The dining area looks out toward the beach framed by perfect palms dancing on the breeze. Worth the investment for the experience and the tasty meal.

The birds were excessive and ignored by staff. Tables left to be cleaned were covered with small birds and pigeons. Question how sanitary our table and chairs were when we sat down. Birds on rafters over our heads, on the stucco pillars next to us, on floor around us, flying around and between us and landing on unused chairs at our table. Most birds ever encountered at a restaurant in Hawaii. Lovely setting, great food, but will have hard time returning.

Our dining experience at Cane And Canoe was outstanding! The setting is beautiful, we were able to experience a Maui sunset from our table. The service was outstanding, our meals were super good. We enjoyed Mai Tai cocktails. Then we had the Maui onion soup. I had the 10 oz. ribeye, my granddaughter had the 7 oz. filet and my wife had lobster bisque. We all enjoyed our entrees immensely. We then had some fancy desserts. We are looking foreword to our next dining experience at Cane and Canoe!

We celebrated our anniversary in style. From the reservation to the time we left, it was a smooth process. The table gave us a perfect view of the beautiful grounds with the sounds of running water and a view of burning tiki torches. The food was amazing. I suggest the octopus for an appetizer. The entrees were cooked to perfection. They even surprised us with a complimentary dessert that was amazing! A memory for a lifetime.
