Capture a magical moment of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s past as you dine in one of its most historic buildings. The four-diamond Cannery Restaurant of today is reminiscent of its former life as a canning factory in the 1800s, where Niagara peaches and tomatoes were canned until 1957. Its agricultural past has been lovingly retained in its décor of rough hewn wooden beams, rich red brick walls and a hearth at the heart of the restaurant. Chef Mark Longster continues to serve up the best of the region in his menus which feature the freshest local produce and fine wines. Charming and casual Cannery Restaurant is the place to find all your favorites, from succulent steaks to catch of the day to a fabulous Sunday brunch. Chef Longster's food is prepared and presented perfectly, for your ultimate dining experience.

Very slow service and prime rib was tough. We were celebrating a birthday and it was not acknowledged except at checkin.

We three were disappointed when there was no recognition of a birthday in our group even though we checked birthday on the reservation, and the hostess was aware of the event. Why mention it if you don’t get anything? The server failed to refill our water glasses, and the duck confit was dry and tough. There was no bread.

we were seated at a really nice table for 2 (large table space with one very comfortable chair one sofa chair). Great local wine selection. The chef accommodated a couple of vegan dishes.

Great Food And Atmosphere! A Definite Must Try For Anyone! All the staff were in crisp grey uniforms or pressed black outfits except for one tall girl in a black or dark blue jacket and pants with a very wrinkled blouse. Her appearance was not to the standard of the Cannery

We love the Pillar and Post and the Cannery restaurant is a reflection of this cozy Inn. It's rustic charm and warm ambience add to the overall experience of a heritage inn. We enjoyed the food and the portions are substantial and the service was excellent.

We opted for Wagyu at Cannery and it wasn’t a great experience. The striploin was over cooked and the ribeye had an almost gamey flavour. Unfortunately, we had Wagyu at Harbour 60 in TO a few days back which was spectacular so we had some expectations. On the flip side, Lisa was an outstanding waitress so if they can nail the Wagyu, they’re in great shape!

My wife and I both liked the restaurant and the quality of the food overall but both walked away wishing we ordered something different, hence the 4-star review, otherwise it would be 5.

We were there to celebrate our 10 anniversary. We chose here because we loved it a few years ago when we stayed. This time we stayed at Queen's landing but still wanted to come back. Unfortunately.. it was terrible this time. Granted we did come close to closing time but for the price that shouldn't matter at 830 isn't too late.. service was lacking a personal touch and no pre bussing/ table maintenance whatsoever. As out app plates dinner plates were piled high when we were brought both dessert and the bill.. having to reach over plates to deliver things is usually a sign it should probably be taken away. My wife's chicken tasted weird. Only ate a couple bites and no follow up to ask how it was or why you are so little. My steak order medium was blue rare. The taste was on point just not how I ordered it. Still good though..

Just not the celebratory dinner we were looking for. Hopefully things improve for the business and the next time we come if we do chose too.

We had an amazingly special anniversary dinner. The food was delicious and overly satisfying. Every bite was memorable. We had impeccable service from Melanie, Tiffany and another gentleman (forgive me for not recalling his name). The professionalism by all was outstanding especially during unconventional sitations that may arise.

It had been awhile since we last dined at Cannery but when my husband suggested that we go out for a celebratory 50th wedding anniversary dinner, I immediately suggested The Cannery and fortunately was able to get a reservation. We truly were delighted that we had made that choice!

The food and service were excellent. It’s a hotel restaurant at the Pillar and Post. I would highly recommend it for special occasions. The prime rib was fantastic and they had these banana fritters you dipped into 2 sauces that were to die for. Like upper class county fair donuts. Give them a go!

A few weeks ago we were disappointed to have tried the roast beef dinner at the Old Mill in toronto, it was supposed to be one of their signature dishes and raved about by a few friends. After we commented on how much better we remembered it being at the Cannery, so we drove down expecting some disappointment. We were wrong. The meal was every bit as good as we hoped it would be. The service from our wait staff was also fantastic. She certainly went out if her way to make us feel welcome and looked after . We will be back!

I made the reservation online for lunch. It was a Sunday and are 12:30 I could not order off the menu. Instead of a freshly prepared meal the way I like it, I was stuck with dried up chicken and road beedham the has been sitting around for hours. Definitely not worth $30.

As always, the Cannery was a delight. Good food, excellent service. We discovered a 2008 Vouvray which was almost like an ice wine to the nose and palate. The only downside to the evening was a crying baby ~6m old. Why do parents of young children feel they can inflict their little cherub on others. At 9pm, the child should have been in bed! My parents never took me to a restaurant until I was 14, knew the difference between a medium and a rare steak, and could identify 1 favourite white wine and 1 red!

Thank you as always Cannery.
