Service was awesome but my potatoes and vegetables were only luke warm. My meat was very tough. I was disappointed with my meal but enjoyed the location. I dont think I will eat there again due to the above.

My husband and I and baby daughter were there for dinner. Everyone was very friendly and kind and thankfully our girl is very good in social settings and does not create much of a fuss. However, it did take over an hour and a half to receive our food and no bread or anything was offered. When we looked at the table next to us they did have a bread basket and quite a few tables were served before us so that was unfortunate. Otherwise a wonderful experience, food was exceptional and we would still go back and recommend to all.

Short ribs where great. The potatoes where creamy. Caeser salad was great. The broccoli cheese soup tasted like flour and was under seasoned. Drink options where great too.

We were there early for dinner and the atmosphere was lovely. The server was attentive. Unfortunately the food was only fair. The sauce was salty and the truffled mashed potatoes were not too good.

We celebrated my birthday dinner - being Tuesday, most of the other restaurants were closed, so this was our last-minute choice. The restaurant and the hotel are very charming, cozy and very rustic. The service was pretty good and our server, Sue, was very charming and helpful with her suggestions. There was no bread offered and we had to order it separately and there is a charge to it. Surprisingly, they did not even serve it with the soup!!! I started off with the Daily soup which was Butternut Squash, which was passe. Would have expected to see more exciting vegetarian appetizers other than soup and salad - for that matter, would have been better if they had a summer soup rather than a winter soup on the menu. Hubby ordered the Crab cakes which were simply amazing and he polished off the plate!! For the mains, I ordered the Chicken Supreme which was excellent - the sauce was too good. Hubby had the Slow Cooked Prime Rib but was not too impressed with it. For the dessert, we ordered the Chocolate and Peanut Butter Creme Brulee to share and they served it with Happy Birthday written on the plate and they did not even charge us for it!!-which was a very nice gesture Wow!! That is A+++ service. Also had the Cookies & Cream Specialty Coffee (outstanding!!) and hubby had the Mocha Maduro Coffee.. All in all a nice experience and must visit if you are in Niagara for a few days...

We really enjoyed our dinner at the Cannery. It's a favorite that we go back to whenever we visit Niagara on the Lake. Food is always very good/excellent, service is without exception superb and it's a great environment to dine in. Like many other restaurants costs of dinner items is up - it does mean that we may not include an appetizer or a desert in what we enjoy but which is unfortunate. Would definitely recommend the Cannery as a place to enjoy a meal in NOTL.

Ribe Eyes steak on menu but not available two days in a row. Beef Tenderloin was good but not four star. Desert; Butter Tart 1cm deep dry and sugar garnish burnt. Waitress had a non-warming attitude. You may want to consider another choice to eat.

Service was terrible, waitress was so rude for no reason. Sadly we had the risotto and chicken and they were not very good. I would not recommend. Breakfast staff was amazing as breakfast was included in our reservation.

I use to live in the Niagara Region years ago and have eaten at the Pillar and Post dozens of times. We had brunch there on Sunday May 20'th which was a long weekend. First thing I noticed when I walk in was how empty the buffet was. It use to be grand buffet with a chef carving beef, ham, or turkey. They only carving meat they had was pork. They have cut corners so badly they don't even serve potato and more. I heard one of the staff say they had a lot of cancellation. Probably customers took one look at the buffet and decided it was not worth it. The buffet looked at 10% capacity. The food quality, temperature, and service were not as I remember.

Was very disappointed with brunch on Sunday. Not enough breakfast items. No cooked shrimp or any seafood, the cooked salmon was good, no scrambled eggs, no eggs Benedict, no hash browns, no soup. Yes you can ask for an omelette or fried egg and waffles were half poured so a distorted full waffle. The desserts were minimal as well. The hostess and waitress were very pleasant and looked after us well, the gardens across the street were beautiful but I would not drive from Hamilton again to the brunch.

I received a gift certificate from work and decided to treat my mom to a nice spa visit, followed by dinner. It was truly enjoyable. The food was excellent and very generous servings. We shared a Caesar salad (regretted not getting our own!) and then I had their prime rib (the girls at the spa recommended) and my mom had the mushroom risotto. We both took half of our meals home. Our server (Derek) was great (and worked his butt off). The environment is very nice for a quiet dinner with a relaxed pace. We did not feel rushed at all and took the time to enjoy our evening. We both had the wines recommended to pair with our meals, and they were great! Although my wine was from California and in hindsight I do wish I had chosen a local wine :)

Beautiful setting, with ample parking in NOTL. Nice greeting on entrance and lovely table chosen. Noise level was minimal. Our Server was Melanie and she was very upbeat and informative. Menu is varied with chef’s choices clearly outlined. Food was excellent and well presented. Pricing is on the high side but you get what you pay for. Would highly recommend.
