Thorough enjoyed our meal and David provided excellent service
We celebrated our anniversary with dinner at the Cannery and it was lovely. We couldn’t decide between the short ribs and the spinach stuffed chicken so we each got one and shared. Both were amazing and we loved the ambiance.
We've eaten quite a few times at The Cannery. On arrival, the hostess showed us to a table for the 6 of us, in a very dark area of the restaurant, no lighting overhead whatsoever. We advised her that it wasn't an acceptable table, but she indicated that's all there was - she did say though she would turn up the lights - but an odd thing to say when there were no lights over the table. We suggested she could put other tables together that were in 'lighted' areas, but she never came back with any help. Along came Patricia, one of the servers in the restaurant, who took it upon herself to quickly set up another table in the front room and took care of us throughout the evening. We give very high kudos to her, but not the hostess on that evening.
Menu was ,I thought over priced even for a hotel/ tourist area. Had beef tenderloin. Over cooked and slightly chewy disappointed at these prices things should be perfect. Will not return.
Fabulous place. Worth the drive . Great food and service.
I took my mother and her friend for Mother’s Day Brunch, arguably one of the biggest brunch days of the year. We had the first of two seatings.
The ambiance is lovely, bright and busy.
There were a lot of options in terms of food and the food was very fresh. I’m not typically a fan of buffets, but this one was well executed.
The service was just ok, our server came by infrequently and we were often left waiting for coffee or drinks. Though when our server did come, she was pleasant.
We went for a birthday dinner for my daughter and her husband and really enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and the food. Everyone foundit a ver enjoyable experience.
The food was delicious! The service was great! It was hard to find as it was in the Pillar and Post, but no signs could be seen from the road.
Wonderful! The hostess asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. When dessert came, they had written “happy Birthday “ in chocolate on the dessert plate. Service was tremendous without being ostentatious. We had the mussels and pistachio soufflé for appetizers, the prime rib and tenderloin for entrees. Could not have been better. We would definitely recommend and will definitely return.
We met friends for dinner. The meal was terrific and the service was very good. The menu has many choices.
First timers. Excellent food. Great service. Very friendly staff. We loved the ambience....we will be back.😀
Felt that I paid way too much for the quality of the food . It was okay but I have had much better for less.I don't mind paying for good food. This was okay but I wont be writing to mother to tell her how good it was because it wasn't!
Dinner was amazing, service was impeccable, wine was superb.
Thank you to Anthony our server for his
recommendations with the wine list and his attention to detail making our dining experience a pleasant and enjoyable one.
I went to Cannery restaurant for our girls group birthday celebration. I must say the atmosphere and ambience was amazing and not to mention the food was delicious. The service was great and our waiter was very knowledgeable. The ladies were all amazed and felt this was a great choice to end our evening in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
This is a lovely restored building with exposed wood on the ceilings. The food was excellent. I had the short ribs, which melted in my mouth. Highly recommended.
Had a great dinner! Lisa was very knowledgeable and attentive.
Larger then expected portions (we had the salmon and lamb shank).
Will definitely come back.
We had a wonderful experience celebrating our anniversary, the food and service was excellent.
The room was clean, fireplace added ambiance.
Will certainly come back!
It was wonderful and our server, Sharon, was so great!
Fantastic gluten free options! Thanks so much for a great time!
We had a wonderful, romantic dinnner at the Cannery. We had fillet mignon marinated in bourbon with lobster tail. Delicious and done to perfection! The service was excellent. We will be back.
Anthony the waiter was excellent ,very friendly and. Extremely knowledgeable on the menu.Made our dinner a great experience.
Nice location. Food was good but I can't say exceptional. Our server was good. When I made our reservation on-line the form asked if we were celebrating an occasion (our anniversary). Was surprised that this was acknowledged upon arrival but nothing after that. After spending a small fortune on our meal not even a complementary dessert like we have received at other Vintage Hotels at NOTL.
Fabulous as always! Had our favourite table by the fireplace and amazing service and food. Thank you Sharon for your excellent service and recommendations. We will be back ☺
Second time dining, food was equally great as the first time. Did not disappoint. Going for number three this summer.
Great experience in a great place with very good food and a nice wine list. Fits the Inn and the area well.
Have eaten here on a number of occasions and never disappointed. Derek was a fabulous attendant. Stayed the weekend at The Prince of Wales for the location as part of wife's 65th birthday and selected the Cannery as one of the restaurant options. Frequent Niagara on the Lake and none of the Vintages locations will ever disappoint.
We were on the pre selected menu , the two meals were fantastic and our waiter was fantastic , very engaging and not pushing us.Very enjoyable evening.
The food was fantastic. The whole table commented on how much they enjoyed their meal. Portions were just the right size and we were even able to have dessert. The restaurant even accommodated us when we had to bring the stroller for the baby. We will be back.
Our server Derek was great. Food was very tasty. Very relaxed fireside dinning.
Fantastic meal! Everything was delicious
I was not impressed with the vegetarian option. It was a pasta dish and honestly was very bland and not worth the money. It’s too bad, my husband enjoyed his meal very much, he is not a vegetarian.
The restaurant is great. Very nice atmosphere. Our server David was very attentive and was on it. He had a great personality and made us feel very welcome. The timing between our apps and main meal was spot on. The food was very good and the value was there. My only negative comment is that a restaurant of this quality at a very nice higher end hotel should not be nickle and diming you. We had ordered the prime rib for dinner and after a few bites asked if we could have a little more of the jus for our beef. It wasn't an issue getting it, but they charged us $3.00 for it! Really? Come on people it is embarrassing to say the least.
Very romantic dinner by the fireplace and good service overall.
Been two times and both visits were fantastic. Food is wonderfully flavoured. Our waiter Anthony was very accommodating .
Menu is traditional with attempted but shallow creativity. Roast beef and steaks are excellent. Yorkshire pudding is generous but without jus or gravy. Sides and garnishes try to embellish but distract from good basic cooking. Pricing is very aggressive for local wines as well as their reliable yet unspecial sides, starters, mains, desserts and special coffees. Servers are very helpful. Decor really needs an update.
Food and service were impeccable and it was clear why they received the 4 Diamond award in 2017.
We both had the lamb shank which was exceptional. Our server Anthony was great! Very knowledgeable, helpful, efficient & courteous.
The ambiance was good, the food was good except for the dessert that was really bad, I found the wine list for a glass of local wine overprice
Food was delish. Server was okay.
When I asked for a pop refill and then noticed it wasn’t free on the bill would of been nice to know prior to. When someone says can I have a refill and they say no problem I assume it’s included.
Pop costs like 10 cents so to be charged $3 for each tiny glass and then not be told refills aren’t included would of been nice to know.
But over all good.
