We had a great table by the fire and our server was delightful. Dinner was excellent and the prime rib was perfect. We shared the peanut butter bar and it was decadent. Definitely a great choice in NOTL.
We had a wonderful stay at the Pillar and Post and dining at the Cannery was a nice way to finish the trip. The service was great and the food was amazing, portion size was generous.
always a good meal at a fair price for a upscale restaurant. the staff is very attentive and the food is served timely but not rushed. a great place to celebrate a special occasion.
It was a holiday weekend so it was busier then usual, but our food came out cold. . . And it took us about 45 minutes to get our food. We come here often but this last time was probably the deal breaker for us.
Green curry. Not good.
The food was perfect. The service was friendly and knowledgeable and prompt .
Prices are slightly below what one would expect at this level of experience.
I did not know the parking would be such a mess, we were lucky and pick a spot near the entrance, but lightning was very poor and nobody working the valet parking that I could see. If it was warmer out this area would be very muddy.
Food was good and service a little over average, nobody offered to take our coats and the area for the coats was jammed full already.
Overall okay, but most clients are not looking for just okay,
Excellent service and ambiance. I wouldn’t order Beef Short Rib again unless the fat was controlled more. The meat was delicious however my vegetables swam in beef fat. Chocolate and cherry dessert was really good. Not to heavy. Nice ending to the meal.
Steak was good. Prime rib cooked at rare to our liking but not a lot of flavour.
Food was excellent and service was as well. A bit pricey
Service was great and the prime rib was incredible!
Enjoyed our Valentines dinner- chose the preset menu and everything was awesome.
We were there for Valentine’s Day dinner (we go every year for our anniversary) and had yet again, a very enjoyable evening. Our server, Sarah, was absolutely amazing, very friendly, professional and yet personable and was on top of her game. Our requests were taken care of quickly, and she went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed even when we hadn’t asked for it. The atmosphere has always been intimate and comfortable with minimal noise level, aside from a few couples who brought young children/infants with them. The quality and portion size is generous, well worth the money! We’ve never been disappointed. We look forward to once again returning next year.
Good food, good service but very expensive compared to similar restaurants elsewhere. Where an entree might be $38 elsewhere it was $48. We felt the wine prices were outlandish also.
Best prime rib I’ve ever had. Server was so nice and ambiance was perfect. Sat near fireplace. Would go again for sure!
We had a wonderful dinner at the Cannery on Saturday evening. I love the charming, rustic ambiance. The food was delicious. There were enough menu choices, not too many, but something for everyone. We requested a quiet spot and were seated near the fireplace, which warmed us up from the cold walk from the parking lot. Our server Patricia was very good. My only wish is that the new (presumably LED) light bulbs were not such a harsh white. Don't they make candlelight bulbs? But overall, it was a very romantic setting for a evening.
food only okay. seated in a quiet uninteresting section. server pleasant
As always we had a great dinner.
Although the food was good, I was surprised there wasn't an egg option in the warming trays ex. scrambled eggs. I was disappointed to stand in a very long line with only 1 egg station. Usually the egg station is for omelettes only, which would reduce wait times. Pasteries were a bit stale and tasteless. Salads were good, chicken was dried out a bit. Service was great, as usual.
My fiancée and I celebrated an engagement at the cannery restaurant and we had a lovely experience. The table was close to the fireplace and was decorated so lovely with flower petals. We also received a glass of champagne each to toast for our the occasion. Our server was extremely helpful with the wine list and the dinner menu. It was the perfect place to celebrate a special day. Thank you!
Cannery accommodated our party of 7 which included 3 kids between the ages of 6 and 8. The waitress was accomdating and allowed us flexibility to customize the menu for the kids.
Overall the service was great! Food was good and above average- my meat was cooked perfectly (both seafood and beef).
Menu was in my opinion out dated- because allergy options were not listed on menu- but they staff knew their staff and was able to confirm!
Restaurant was a nice feel and comfortable- definitely classy atmosphere.
The Cannery restaurant is larger than I remembered but still managed to feel cosy on this cold winter night with the fireplace in view. We enjoyed appetisers that were different from the usual fare, we had the poached pear and cambozola bruschetta and the crab cakes both delicious. The bacon wrapped beef tenderloin with Stilton on top we ordered as our main course was prepared perfectly to our liking. We followed up with dessert, I had the banana fritters with dark chocolate peanut sauce and coconut caramel sauce on the side it was was unique and delicious. My other half enjoyed the caramel cheese cake with apple salsa and we lingered over coffee. The waitress was lovely, she was friendly and efficient in her service. We had a very pleasant, fun evening...we would recommend the Cannery Restaurant to others and will be returning.
Beautiful and very romantic with exquisite food and wine. Our server was also amazing!
Food was good ... salmon was excellent ... pork medallions were decent. Loved the cozy atmosphere and the fireplace. Server was very helpful :)
Beautiful restaurant with a wonderful ambiance. Waitress was very attentive. Cozy setting.
Dined here for breakfast. We had wonderful waitstaff, Frank! The dining options were unique, such as Jerked Chicken in a Mango sauce, and penne pasta, etc. We enjoyed the Waffle and Omelette stations best. The price was a bit steep, we were under dressed and felt awkard in this environment, and this was not our favorite breakfast while we were in NOTL, so our recommendation of this establishment is low. HOWEVER, FRANK was a definite 5 STAR!!!!!!!
Overall value and quality of food did not add up. Out of four steaks ordered only one was cooked to preference and lobster was not fresh, not worth the upgrade.
From Toronto worth the drive, The Best Yorkshire pudding, prime rib and extra hot horse radish in 125km radius. Best kept secret!
Our waitress was so very kind, patient, and really took care of our daughters ages 5 & 3. Our surf and turf was out of this world and our children truly enjoyed their meals. Beautiful restaurant, friendly service, and wonderful food!
The food is excellent and very favourable. Staff are very knowledgable where food sensitivities are an issue.
Food is excellent. Servers are very friendly and knowledgeable if you have dietary restrictions.
My experience at The Cannery was nothing short of exceptional. The atmosphere, the service, the food quality/taste all exceeded my high expectations.
We spend a lot of time saying you get what you pay for in our lives. The Pillat and Post is certainly one of those places where you might pay a bit more, but it’s certainly worth it.
The waiting staff were very polite and there was an excellent special choice with the Surf and Turf, my wife had the Salmon. The food was melt in the mouth, scrumptious and one of the best meals I’ve had.
The tasting platter was lovely and Cheesecake dessert amazing. They had a great choice of wine, the ambience and festive decorations were classy and authentic.
Overall, it’s well worth the extra spend.
We went for the Prime Rib. Best ever! We had visited several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed. We were just as impressed this time. We'll be back. Our server ensured we had just the right wine to compliment our prime rib. A great experience.
Lack luster is how I would describe this experience. Service was bordering on poor and food was just ok. Several Cajun dishes on the menu had us hopeful, but food was rather bland. I inquired about the head chef’s origin and was told he was English. I was hoping he had trained in New Orleans trained, as my husband is born and raised NOLA.
Great atmosphere, friendly attentive staff. Prices in line with other steakhouses. We both had steak and it was excellent. No complaints I’d return.
Great spot for a romantic dinner. The Cajun steak, which we both ordered, were perfect edge to edge medium rare as requested while still hot throughout.
The host sat is near the fire initially but it was too hot for us, so we were moved to a different location. I’m glad this happened because we ended up in a livelier area with a bit more noise. The server seemed like she trained in Quebec due to her perfect presence, always there when needed and never interrupting.
Great Ontario craft beer and wines were available. The entrees and apps were well priced considering the posh surroundings and food quality. I wouldn’t bring my loud old kids there, but I don’t think anyone should turn this restaurant down if they are in tow and able to chill.
Always amazing. My son had the roast beef and it's always fantastic. I have the roast chicken and its was also very good. Warm and moist until the last bite. The service is always great and the decor is very nice. We always enjoy this restaurant, it never disappoints!
The food is pricy for what you get. Nice ambience - you can actually have a conversation without shouting @ your table mate - Service was acceptable
