Critically acclaimed to be among Canada’s best restaurants, Canoe's unique location high atop the TD Bank Tower affords a breathtaking view of the city and Lake Ontario. The design, originally conceptualized by noted designers Yabu Pushelberg and most recently refreshed by Anacleto Design, is clean and simple, yet absolutely stylish - a brilliant reflection of Canada's rich raw environment. That same brilliance is captured through the flavours and textures of Chef John Horne's inspired regional Canadian cuisine. The menu showcases the freshest and finest Canadian fish, game and produce, as well as an outstanding selection of Canadian vintages. "All that is Canadian defines Canoe." Florence Fabricant, The New York Times

Went for Summerlicious, food was amazing and delicious, in another league compared to other participating restaurants charging the same price.

Super fancy, lovely design for the venue and for the food and menu. The ambience is amazing and the views are once in a lifetime. It was definitely a dress up to impress venue, and parking was complimentary. I would go back for sure, but if you’re looking to be supreme full and large portions picks somewhere else. We were satisfied and content and everything taste amazing and had unique flavours, compliments to the chef.

Nice view of CN tower and the Lake of Ontario. We came here for Summerlicious and the quality of food and services were impressive. They weren't like those expensive restaurants that treated customers poorly during summerlicious and winterlicous. We would definitely come back again for special occasions.

The O&B series of restaurants never ceases to hit the mark. From the elegant and comfortable dining room with a breathtaking view, and attentive but not overbearing staff (thank you Server Michael). The experience was without flaw. The kitchen served up a delightful array of flavours and textures, paying the appropriate respect to the protein of the dish, while avoiding loading the plate with inappropriate or unnecessary ingredients in the guise of being “hip”, “creative”, or “forward thinking”. I question whether some chefs actually TASTE what they dish up to unsuspecting clients. Canoe’s Chef Ron showed a maturity beyond his age (perhaps I’m just getting old), and constraint in his development of the dishes. It’s honestly been a while since we were impressed by a restaurant. Most hyped up spots choose style over substance. Canoe says you can have both. Our next visit... the Tasting Menu while seated at the Chef’s Rail overlooking the kitchen. Question is... would applause be appropriate?

Both service and food were terrific.

The music was not. I find it depressing that most high end restaurants these days play unpleasant popular music and way too loud at that.

Why not light classical or jazz?

Also, there weren't enough vegetarian options. We were at Summerlicious and 2 out of the 3 desserts contained animal products.

This is pretty much a make or break thing for me.

Having said this, everything else was terrific.

I took my colleague for a Summerlicious lunch at Canoe yesterday and she was very impressed with how fast the service was! I told her we should be done there in an hour so we can go back to work in time for our meeting after lunch. So we arrived around 12pm and we already got our appetizers in 10 minutes then shortly after that our main course arrived already in 15 minutes, followed by dessert. After enjoying a wonderful 3-course meal with a fantastic view, we were all done and out before 1pm!! That was amazingly fast! Most of the restaurants we’ve been to would take us at least an hour and a half if not more so I’m glad Canoe did not disappoint! I’m happy we were done there as I expected... that’s why Canoe has always been a favorite for their amazing service!

It was my first time dining here but I always heard rave reviews from friends. I can finally concur that it truly lives up to the hype. Not only were the dishes impeccably flavourful, but the service was excellent and the view was just gorgeous. Although it is at a higher price point, it is worth it. Canoe is full of substance and charm. I highly recommend this place.

The restaurant overall was beautiful, looking over Centre Island and CN Tower. Food was good but not worth the price tag. There was nothing unique about their menu. The portions were small and didn’t fill me up after 3 courses. Drinks tasted good, but didn’t taste any alcohol in it—even asked the table beside me who ordered the same thing and they said the same. The worst part of our dining experience was our server who did not show any attention, enthusiasm, or even a smile for the duration of our dinner. He took so long to take our order and wasn’t even available for the duration of our dinner. Gave us the bill right after we ordered our coffee and tea, when we didn’t even ask for it. Definitely expected better service from a restaurant like Canoe.

Summerlicious Menu was disappointing. The main course of pork jowl was a piece of fried fat without much meat at all, on top of salty veggies. The dessert of "devil's food cake" was sloppy, like a piece of mashed up Sara Lee can with some chocolate sauce. I'm disappointed a restaurant of this reputation would produce food like this. I've been here before and the food was much better at a non-Summerlicious time.

Recommend not allow to bring kids under 5 years old, we had a bad experience that the kid was yelling and throwing everything on the floor, which the parents didn't take good care of him.

Amazing view and atmosphere! Me and my husband are feeling so good at that night! Appetizer, main course and dessert made me feel satisfied. We enjoyed the quality dish. We also have a red wine and beverage to matching our food! Made my dish yummy and tasty! We highly recommend my friend to go to try and enjoy the lovely restaurant “Canoe”.

Very good service/view; food was good but I hoped for much better based on reviews. Lunch was informal and very busy; too many“ tourists” taking photos out the window took away from ambience. The popularity of this restaurant may take away from offering a more intimate experience. Staff was awesome!

I won't go into details about the view and decor as Canoe is well known for these features.

This was my 4th visit to Canoe and the only time I left disappointed. I went for summerlicious 2019 and ordered a gin martini, the salmon tartar, the sea bream and the pannacotta.

Martini was fine, nothing noteworthy other than it's $18 price tag for a basic drink and small serving size. Get one of their in house seasonal cocktails instead.

The salmon tartar was good. All the familiar ingredients you'd expect. Nothing out of the ordinary flavour or presentation wise. Kitchen staff that brought out the dish didn't give the usual summary of the dish that Canoe does (details!)

The sea bream was simply not good. Too many conflicting flavours on this plate. The aubergine did not work at all with anything. The sea vegetable that was on there (can't remember the name) was impossible to cut and I had to eat it whole (it was twice as long as a stalk of asparagus). The dill conflicted with the miso and aubergine so much I split the fish in half and separated the flavours. There was a few small pieces of what I think was arugula and fennel in there as well which didn't make sense. It was like Canoe was cleaning out the vegetable crisper in their fridge.

The fish was cooked perfectly and it was a shame that it was ruined by the unfocused and dullness of the rest of the dish. There also was no carb on the plate which made the dish unsatisfying.

The visual appeal of this dish also was poor. Looked like a dogs breakfast.

The pannacotta was terrible and a crime for being served at this type of restaurant. I misguided myself to think that this would have been anything more than glorified jello. The 'carmelized' puff pastry tasted like burnt toast.

Summerlicious 2019 at Canoe was an unforgettable night but unfortunately for the wrong reasons.

My partner and I have been wanting to try this place for awhile for summerlicious. We finally got to try it. The view was amazing as everyone told us. The Service was very good. The food was not as amazing as I expected. The salmon tartar was the best thing that we tried. The beef was very tender but it was pretty dry for me. All of the cooked vegetable was phenomenal and plated very nicely. Overall a good experience. Great cocktail

This is my third time dining at the Canoe restaurant, and it was always an amazing dine. Service, not attentive mainly because it is the summerlicious event and they have a fully seats around the clock. Food, had the beef carpaccio, beef cheeks, and citrus tart all tasted within my expectations. Love how they present all the ingredients on the plate, it shows the care and knowledge of each employee of the restaurant. Ambience, 54th floor in the centre of downtown Toronto with a CN tower/lake view, couldn’t ask for more. Price, summerlicious event so it is already a steal price. Definitely coming back for any special occassions.
