   Fred, our waiter was excellent. We would note that there was lots of very ‘fancy’ options—would be nice to have a couple of ‘nice less clever’ options as well for those that aren’t as adventuresome.

   Our server and drinks were great. the food was 5 out of 10 for how much they charge, we got the scallop (one scallop) by the way and the surf and turf . All I tasted was rosemary in the lobster. The steak was great though but not 90 dollars worth. We were hungry one hour later, maybe we didn’t order enough but we still paid over $300. The views are incredible.

   Fantastic and attentive service. We had a wonderful dinner, tasting menu was excellent. The sommelier was excellent as well in assisting in wine choices to match our dining experience. Oysters, scallops presented in a refreshing tasty way along with short ribs that melted in your mouth with braised cabbage. Dessert was a treat with a strawberry themed mouth exploding presentation. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our sons 35th Birthday.

   Amazing food (and view of course). Chef Ron and his team never disappoint and always manage to create cuisine beyond the predictable and pedestrian. The new blueberry dessert was a big hit and the scallop with apple a must try! Excellent service from Steven (such a delight) and love the way the manager always finds time to check in at the tables. A nice personal touch. Highly recommend.

   We had the pairing menu and it was outstanding. Our waiter Scotty was knowledgeable and very friendly. Too many waitstaff looked after us: one or 2 ought to be enough. The noise was really an issue: of course, it’s hugely popular, but it was nearly impossible to hear the waitstaff as they described our dishes to us.

    Extremely disappointed- we brought a out of town friend to impress them about Toronto - it was completely underwhelming! It used to be amazing food, wonderful service, amazing view in a gorgeous Mies Van Der Rohe architectural masterpiece and expensive... but worth it - well NO MORE - it was just expensive with a great view - the main waiter was professional but the person who helped explain the dishes was not well informed or able to explain, our surf and turf at $95 was below average and the lobster almost inedible it was only breadcrumbs with very little lobster- the steak was just mediocre. 4 slices of ok bread was an additional $6 and the anticipated Ontario Rhubarb dessert also missed the mark. The onion soup was creative and ok with flavour but very small portion. Canoe used to be the Best of Toronto - well unfortunately that is no longer the case.

    Eaten here several times but not for a few years. Service attention to detail and food quality noticeably worse. Prices the same and higher. Would go for the view only. Seems to have lost its way.

    Was a wonderful dining experience! Was a great date night despite being surrounded by business dinners. Happy they sat us next to the windows for a spectacular view. The food was beyond amazing. The staff and service was also impeccable.

    Canoe was an absolute experience. My Fiancé and I had one of the best dining experiences in Toronto. All the staff was attentive and made sure our meal was amazing. A big shout out to Mike Kovalev our sommelier. He poured some amazing wines that went perfectly with every course

    Andrea the manager ruined our experience! Instead of saying “ is there anything I can do “ her attitude was take it or leave it! We requested a window table we were told no guarantee,we will try! She said first come first serve! I would not have gone if I knew that. We had an 830 reservation,by 845,900pm there were window tables. Andrea decided to give a 2 to a 4 table in the window , instead of moving us. By the way there was a 2 table next to us. We believed that she did not have any desire to make our experience nice. We strongly believed it was anti American! Just so you know! Fine dining usually has table clothes and does not allow shorts and flip flops in the restaurant! This is not acceptable and would never be acceptable in New York. Andrea does not represent nor does she care to any form of sophistication or savior faire, perhaps McDonald’s!

    The food was good overall, the braised short rib in particular was excellent. We had quite a wait for that dish without explanation or apology but it was worth the wait once it came. Service was less attentive than I had expected. The views were beautiful, we had a table right at the window. The music was very upbeat, I would have preferred something more mellow but that’s just my preference.

    The ambience was great, food was also generally really good. The service was disappointing. It took 10 minutes from seating just to get water and no acknowledgment from our server as well. Once we got the waters it took another half an hour to just order a drink. We did the tasting menu and it took over 3 hours just to finish because how space apart everything was. Generally it was okay, but definitely was dissatisfied with the service aspect

    The best thing about the restaurant is the view but the food is mediocre. My halibut was overcooked and dry instead of buttery, and the crust of the bread was so dry it was difficult to chew. The desserts are deconstructed versions of the real thing but that idea is so overused these days, it is no longer innovative.

    While the view is quite incredible (can only imagine what it must look like at night), I found the rest of the experience underwhelming. I ordered the heirloom tomato salad as an appetizer, and found the tomatoes rather soggy and the dish itself lacking in flavor. I ordered the salmon as my entree and that was delicious. I was also surprised that they did not offer a dessert menu. All in all, I found Canoe to be a once and done type of experience, and not a place that I would revisit in the future.

    Amazing view of Downtown Toronto, the tasting menu paired with the Premium wines created a true culinary experience. Great place for a business dinner/event. To top it all off the cocktails were outstanding!

    We had the tasting menu tonight. We all liked the venison tartare the best. Dessert has always been Canoe’s weakest link but I have to say the service was most disappointing. I don’t even know our waiter’s name. He never introduced himself. At the end of the evening, I suspect he is a bar staff improvised to be a waiter. He was very pleasant but barely talked to us. It was very hard to get his attention, let alone ask any questions about the tasting menu. That totally took the fun out of the whole experience! One of the junior serving staff actually did a better job in engaging us in a conversation after I asked him for some water and made us feel welcomed. He did mention a lot of staff quit recently and had put a lot of pressure on them. Now, I understand why tables are readily available at Canoe. I booked the night before. A year ago, we had to book a month ahead. The experience is no longer special. I don’t see myself coming back. Not at this price and level of service. I can also understand why recent reviews have not been the greatest. Sadly, I agree with them.
