We had a memorable lunch which we attribute to our waiter Steven who is so much fun. He remembers his clients ( even what wine they like) and is never hurried and always ready to share a laugh with you. We are not the only ones who love him...our neighbouring table who were from Vancouver told us they always frequent Canoe when in town just to see Steven again.

We have returned after a few years. The place has changed dramatically, unfortunately not for the better. Lots of more tables placed, close to each other, the noise level was deafening. We have asked for a far away table at the bar, which we were granted Thank you. Our waiter was good, no problem there. The food was NOT What we expected from a supposedly top, gourmet Canadian res. Our Goose live pate had only :sprinkling of liver, with lots of bread filling. The Raw beef appetizer, which is Always Top Quality ground beef, spiced up, had long pieces of "pancetta tasted concoction" Shame! The Steak Fritte was fine. The Schnitzel had no similarity to Any Schnitzel we had before, sitting on a bed of "Creamed Corn" totally ruining the meat. We thought we were in Alabama. Sorry to say, there is time to review the menu and change the Chef! Thank you for listening to us.

Canoe is a must visit if you are a resident of Toronto or a visitor from out of town. The views of the city, including the CN Tower are stunning, particularly at night. Great food, beautiful setting with fine service. Cannot be beat!

Food and service was absolutely excellent. We shared the tomato salad appetizer and then we had the wild halibut and the half hen which were both delicious. Our server was absolutely delightful!

This is our second time dining in the restaurant. We were not very impressed by the food we had last time. We felt we had to give another try because of the consistent good reviews for this restaurant. We wanted to know what we missed last time, or it is just simple that the restaurant is not for our taste. Finally, we can happily say we enjoy our dining experience this time. The foods are all well prepared and very tasty, not just focus on food presentation. There is no more strange flavor combinations or over-powered spices used. Everything tastes balanced and refreshing. You can find French, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish and Italian cuisine inspirations in the cooking, but all are fusion beautifully to give a new life to the food materials that we use everyday. The service, the view and environment are also as pleasant as we expected. It’s the restaurant we definitely visit again in the future.

Canoe was a wonderful treat yesterday. The bar was very accommodating. Our three guests enjoyed the ambiance and food. Our servers were very helpful both in answering and questions. A high quality experience overall!

Always a joy to go to Oliver/Bonachini restaurants. Since Oliver’s Bakery/Bustro we have always love coming to one of your places-and last night was suberb, the food, service, view -a special night for sure at Canoe-your flag ship! The Chef’s Rail was an amazing experience! A different chef came out to present each dish, all of which were unique and delicious! We even got a little goodie bag at the end. Highly recommend this unique experience.

Scenic view. Nice ambience. Tables are set too close to one another. We were seated in the middle between two big tables for an anniversary dinner. The restaurant is quite noisy. Our server is great. However, for other servers that brought the dish to us, they are not too familiar with the ingredients. No change of cutlery between courses. Plate was taken away before we were completely done with the food. The good thing is the food quality is great. We also appreciate the wine selection by our server. Overall average service standard. Value is ok compared to the price.

We had a great dinner at Canoe. My friends are visiting from Vancouver. They enjoy the chef tasting menu and the view. We added oyster and salad on top of the tasting menu。 Pear dessert are phenomenal.

After dining at many amazing restaurants in Toronto over the years - originally from Toronto, but now live elsewhere - Canoe was one that my husband still hadn’t tried. We added a lunch reservation to a recent quick trip and had high expectations; we were unfortunately disappointed. We came for an early lunch and initiated ordering soon after arrival as we did not have 2 hours free for a meal (and shouldn’t need that much time for a lunch reservation). Glad we initiated ordering; the people next to us sat for 20 mins before a server even came over and said hello or took a drink order. That being said, we waited 40 mins after ordering before we finally had to ask where our starters were. By that point, the people next to us had ordered and received their starters… we were not impressed; I suspect the server forgot to enter our order at all and so then entered it to be served on the fly and what we finally received for starters were simply not good - the foie gras dish was lack lustre and heirloom tomato had a sour unpleasant flavour. Both felt rushed and like no one took the time to taste what was being served. Perhaps you could say that tomatoes are not currently in season, but unfortunately for Canoe, we had another tomato/burrata dish a different high end restaurant the day before and it was amazing, so by comparison this was especially disappointing. If you don’t have delicious produce, or the time to taste and properly season the dish, don’t serve it. The mains were significantly better - veal schnitzel was well seasoned and cooked and the creamed corn accompaniment was delicious; the steak frites was cooked to a perfect medium rare, but the dish overall was on the cold side of room temp, which was also disappointing. We were planning to try a dessert, but after almost 2 hours (of mostly waiting) and a disappointing start, we didn’t bother. Based on this experience, this won’t be on our list of repeats/favourites to go to on our next visit.

Canoe ... definitely one of the best restaurants in Ontario, which we have had the pleasure of visiting. Service ... amazingly friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Food ... amazing variety (we had the tasting menu), superbly presented, spectacular flavours and insane taste combinations ... wow! Atmosphere ... incredible views of the city at 54 stories up, beautiful setting ... a tad bit too noisy - this was our only "slight" complaint. but with that many people having a fun evening, a little noise is to be expected. Would we go back ... in a heart beat ... in fact we're already planning it.

Our server was great and she was very personable so the tip we provided was well deserved, but they also had a very strange timid young woman with a thick accent who seemed to be training and that kinda threw off the vibe as she kept lingering and asking if we were finished each course and apologizing. Not a big deal, but also something you'd wouldn't expect to see at a place so highly regarded. We were still charged and asked to pay for parking by the old guy downstairs when we tried to leave and present the card that canoe provided - we arrived slightly before 5:30. Maybe it's a miscommunication between the restaurant and the parking staff? We tried calling several times about our experience and the parking situation but haven't received any response. Food was ok to good but overall such a weird experience - you're really just coming here for the view. I recommend sometime before late autumn when you have more of a chance to watch sunset since it sets earlier later in the year.
