Canoe Restaurant and Bar
Dinner: Monday - Friday: 5:00pm - 10:30pm
Great and amazing foods! Best view ever!
What a fabulous evening with friends. We were seated with a great view of the CN Tower and the city. Started with Costal Oysters (3 from each coast), radish and beetroot salad, Quebec Red Stag with wild huckleberry & braised red cabbage. For desert we had Hazelnut Chocolate Torte and Pumpkin cake. Fabulous Ripasso, full bodied, not too dry and low in tannins. Great with game. Great service from all staff and especially Jesus our waiter.
Very good food. Beautifully served. Noisy room.
Fantastic all round with the exception of parking. We were told to give the validation voucher to the attendant. He didn’t seem to have a clue and directed us the wrong way to the exit. We ended up paying
Our server was attentive and friendly. The food was fresh and tasted amazing. The duck is highly recommended. The view was a nice touch.
Great food and service. I little cool if you are sitting by the window
Perfect ! Amazing, good taest
The view from the 54th floor is very good especially at a clear night. It was just like to have dinner on a plane. The food is excellent. Oysters are as fresh as just out of sea. all Main courses are perfect. Service is good enough as well.
Our service was amazing! Everyone was so lovely. Thank you!!
The noise level is quite high when trying to have a business discussion but i can't say there's anything you could do about that without adding acoustic dampeners. My big issue is value for money. The food is good but the portions are ridiculously small. The only crab in my crab and salmon salad was the size of a large marble. I would never eat here unless i was on a business lunch. On the upside the gluten free bread was excellent.
We both had the Arctic Char, which was a disappointment. Very bland and there were a number of items in the dish such as dried bonita flakes that were so unappetizing, I had to push them to the side. Conversation was also very loud, and Canoe is someplace I would go for a business lunch when I don't have to compete to be heard. The wait staff was very good as usual.
I was celebrating my birthday there. The service was great and food were delicious. Highly recommend
Canoe continues to be one of Toronto's best "go-to" restaurants for people seeking quality cooking, presentation and creativity in a pleasant environment. The physical restaurant is getting quit dated and needs an update to reflect modern culinary tastes.
Food was amazing
I felt that the food was just ok and so overpriced. I've had much better meals for less money...in fact, I was sick to my stomach that evening and brought the whole meal up. It's a lot of money to flush down the toilet, quite literally! The service was excellent and the view/ambiance romantic, but feel the food really lacked, especially given how expensive it is!!
Incredible dining experience with great ambience overlooking Toronto skyline.
Canoe Restaurant and Bar is definitely a place to visit for a lunch or dinner. The view of the city is awesome. The food selection is good with interesting choices. We were in a party of four. My halibut was tasting great. also the québec red stag was evaluated by one of my friend great as well. The rest of food we had was good but nothing to remember.
The wine list is complete but not at the level I was expecting for the type of restaurant.
Service was slow also because the restaurant was full
Overall it was a good experience.
This was our first visit to Toronto and this restaurant came highly recommended by friends. We had the vegetarian tasting menu with the wine pairing. We loved the creativity of the dishes including presentation and the wines we’re paired perfectly. We didn’t realize how delicious these Niagra wine vintages were! Service was spectacular and the scenery makes this a whole experience instead of just a dinner. Thank you for a lovely evening!
Great food. Lots of creative dishes. Incredible view. Very loud noise level when we attended dinner.
Canoe continues to impress! Well done and thank you.
The food was good to great. Venison ordered rare came in medium rare to almost overdone. The waiter took the information in. No action. The place seemed to be swirling with staff - too many busy bodies.
Came for a late lunch. Food was good. Halibut was dry, but flavourful. Dessert was very nice. View was spectacular. If you haven’t been, you should go.
An extraordinary dining experience. I have several severe allergies that I informed the staff of when I made my reservation. When they called me to confirm my reservation, they also confirmed that they had all the right information on my allergies. Upon being seated in a window table (for our anniversary), the staff had a special gluten-free adjusted tasting menu for me, and made every accommodation for my dinner orders. I was given house-made gluten-free bread, was told which dishes I could and could not order (I have a shellfish allergy as well, and this can be a surprise in some foods), and the starter and mains I ordered (burrata and Cornish hen) were adjusted to fit my dietary restrictions. The staff were attentive without being annoying, polite, graceful, and made my partner and I feel welcome and at home. Being a queer couple, we were treated with the utmost respect at this upscale restaurant, something that we sometimes worry about when going out to dinner.
The food was unbelievable and worth every penny. Special autumn cocktails were delicious. The view was gorgeous. The staff were extremely polite and made the experience much more pleasant. Jesus was our waiter, and he was excellent.
When we were done eating and paid our bill, Jesus brought out maple fudge white chocolates on a platter with "Happy Anniversary" written on it. This small act of generosity made us feel unique and special-- though I'm sure Canoe does this for every special event, it feels even more like you are a special guest, but also right at home.
Unpretentious, warm, exquisite-- Canoe is a one-of-a-kind dining experience and I can't wait to go back. Thank you.
The view is really great!!
First time as a lunch date (I.e. spending our own money). Quiet, Monday afternoons are a nice time to go! Canoe has never disappointed. Service was wonderful. Fall menu tasted delicious, especially screeched sugar pie at the end. If you have the day off when your kids don’t, spend part of it with someone you love at Canoe!
whenever we have a special occasion and we want a memorable meal, we go to Canoe. The food is always excellent and creative. The service is also excellent. It is not cheap but value for money you couldn't ask for me. The view is just an add on!
There for a birthday celebration. Everything was just perfect. Had a table with a great city view. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. The food as always was impeccable. beautiful presentation and very creative.
I've been to Canoe several times and I never cease to be awe-struck by the incredible view. The service is incredible and I've never had a meal that I didn't thoroughly enjoy!
We were at Canoe on a Monday night, apparently after a hard day or work for people in the surrounding offices. Very loud, only lowered to a bearable level mid-meal when office workers left as many were here only drinks. Wonderful view. Less interesting food. Very high prices, not a good value for dinner but probably a better bet for lunch (although one loses the magical evening view). There are always trade-offs.
It was good. We enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this spot to a friend.
I wanted to take my girlfriend out for a special night, she was very excited and heard good things about the restaurant. I requested a table by the window which the restaurant declined to accommodate despite only being 2/3 full. Waited a long time for the food only to get small portions and flat drinks. Despite that service from waiter was great, very polite, not over bearing. I would reconsider a second visit for a special occasion since she was disappointed about the ambiance of the restaurant.
One of the best meals we have ever eaten! The lobster dish was amazing. Would have rated the food with 5 stars but it was not served hot, lukewarm at best. Our side of potatoes came out steaming hot, so it seemed our dinners sat while waiting for the potatoes. Service was excellent! We highly recommend Canoe.
Terrific service, made all the difference. Keep working on the menu choices for people with dietary restrictions.
Order the following for my dinner
- Raw Seafood Platter - osyter and shrimp were okay, the fish were fishy and the lobster were very salty
- Duck entry - duck breast were as tough as a cardboard; I cannot imagine how someone manage to cook duck medium and still feel like cardboard
Totally a waste of my time and money.
It was a spectacular view on a clear night with with succulent oysters. smooth wine and an atmosphere conducive to conversation.
Food was delicious. I especially loved that they accommodated my request for halal food. The waiter also pointed out, without me asking, any menu items that contained gelatin, alcohol, and non-halal meat, which was very thoughtful. The view was amazing. We went for my husband's birthday so for a special occasion, it was worth the price tag, but for routine outings, I find it rather expensive. A 3-course dinner for two cost us $175!
When we got there around 6:30, the restaurant was not very busy and sort of quiet however around 7:30, it got louder and the air started smelling a lot more of alcohol which was a bit off putting. Otherwise, an incredible experience I can now check off my list.
Great restaurant with nice views of the city. Bar area is nice and they make a great Old Fashioned. Dinning room is multi level with an open kitchen at one end. Food was very good as was the service. On the pricey side but worth it. Would highly recommend this bar and restaurant to any one while in Toronto.
