Carmine's - 44th Street - NYC
First time visiting having heard about it
Server was very helpful
Followed up on a recommendation from a fried. And Carmine’s did not disappoint!! We made reservations, showed up late (NYtime), with no issues and were directed to the bar for drinks. We enjoyed the bar ambience so much we stayed there for dinner! Well, an appetizer and drinks! Once we ordered the friend calamari - there was no way we could eat another bite! Highly recommended!!!
We had a GREAT meal with wonderful drinks. Try the cranberry orange mojito. Waitstaff was very attentive
Very Good and hospitality
Visited NYC for my birthday so made a reservation at Carmine’s. Service great sat upstairs. The one thing I must say is, the food is wonderful BUT every dish is for 4 people to share , it would be better to have the option of 2 people to share dishes as the 4 person dishes are far too big for 2 people
Love Carmine’s! Try to visit every time I go the New York City.
Salads, appetizers etc are for 4+ people. Too much food for two people and no option for 1/2 portions.
The menu is "family style" sharing platters ( not plates) and the portions are meant for 4 people, so if you are a couple you will be paying for a lot of food that you could not possibly eat.
The simple fix would be to have smaller sharing platters for 2, priced accordingly, and the larger family sized platters.
The amount of food wasted in this restaurant is sad.
Portions are too large for our party of three. That was sharing just one entree and salad.
We had a wonderful dinner after the theater with wonderful service.. it’s a fun restaurant to go to and I recommend it for anyone visiting the city
great ending to a great day at Tina very happy with all
Sub-par italian food that is overpriced and waited 30 minutes with a reservation with a handicap family member in a wheel chair without being seated. Added shrimp to penne with vodka sauce for an upcharge of 12.99. We were given only 6 shrimp for 12.99.
Very good service and great food !
We visit Carmine's numerous times each year. The food is always Tremendous and cooked perfect! Great family and friends get together place to enjoy Great food and a Great night out!
The food was delicious and more than enough for 2 - 3 people. It's a little pricey but not if you average it with how many the platters feed! Our server was very busy, but another server came over and helped. He was fantastic!! Our actual server, just ok. She seemed too overwhelmed. The only real downside is that if you are going with a small party, the 2 person tables are almost on top of one another and cannot fit your plates, drinks, salt, pepper and the food you ordered. They had to keep re-organizing. But I would go again - for the food alone!!!
Everything was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Being such a large place, we were afraid the food would be just okay - it was absolutely delicious!! My husband is very particular when it comes to eating out. He didn’t have a single complaint. Lol.
My only suggestion to the restaurant would be to do something about those awful drop leaf tables. We were a party of 6 & my son’s gf kept pushing her food back up because the leaf on the table was slanted toward her lap. We shoved some folded up paper underneath to try to fix it...perhaps invest in some new tables?
We will be back!
Food was delicious, service was awesome, we were seated in a high traffic area but we made it work. Overall a really enjoyable experience!
We love love love love love love love love love love love love Carmine's
We went into New York from New Jersey to see the Radio City Christmas show. Our family never goes to New York. Carmine's was our first impression. It was fantastic. Our waiter was Harold and I can't imagine having a better waiter. He was so enthusiastic, friendly, and happy. When the salad and dinner arrived, Harold actually served each of us. Everything we had was absolutely delicious - a variety of bread, an Italian salad, Veal Saltimbocca, Chicken Francese, and Pasta Bolognese. Even the spinach with the Veal and Chicken was delicious. We ended with a Chocolate Torta and Tiramisu. We brought half of the Torta home only because we were too full to finish it. We are still talking about it. It was truly outstanding in everyway. Thank you Carmine's and Harold.
Love the food and place. Going back very soon! Family style, authentic tasting Italian food, great service, great location to see a play and have a wonderful meal.
Always a pleasure when I have the chance to eat at Carmine’s each time I’m in town. I’ve been coming since 1998 and they never disappoint.
Wonderful food, great service and perfect for our birthday celebration!
First time visiting this restaurant. VERY busy location, but still had a good time and greatly enjoyed their gluten free options.
I'd visit again, but at a location farther away from Time Square!
Staff were so friendly, system is very well ran. And I have never tasted a lasagna so flavourful in all my life. X
Food was delicious. Wait staff was excellent. Restaurant is loud so would not recommend if you are looking for quiet dinner. Great for kids.
Our server was absolutely wonderful, very knowledgeable and attentive. She was great! The food was delicious, however it could have been hotter. Our lasagna was cold but our server took care of it and brought a piping hot brand new serving. It's a beautiful restaurant but incredibly crowded with no where to stand and wait for a table. If I would have had a 2 top table next to the bar, I would have been furious and probably would have left. Theres no way you would enjoy your meal at 7pm on a Saturday night sitting in this area. Its elbow to elbow people right up against your table. We had plenty of leftovers even with 7 people in our group, the portions are huge. We were there on a bus so we gave our leftovers to four different homeless people, who were all very appreciative. All in all we had great dinner experience!
I’ve been to Carmines several times and it’s always very good. On my most recent visit I’d say it was my least enjoyable time though. Just way too busy and I think the quality of the food and atmosphere suffered a bit. Still overall a good night. Thank you
We were not sure what to expect going in. The size of the place and the crowd can be intimidating. Everything moves fast. We had reservations and the wait once we were there was short. Our server was extremely helpful and explained the ordering process. A host, noticing we kept turning to see the menu on the wall unprompted brought us a printed version, which made the process easier. The food was very good, the prices reasonable and the atmosphere festive. Our party of four all agreed we would return again, which is the yardstick we use for any venue. Go, go on an empty stomach, and enjoy a night out.
Crowded and noisy, but the food was delicious. Definitely family style, so bring a large group.
great food, very nice environment. Perfect reservation with Open Table . No waiting time to be seated.
Thanks , Highly recommended.
It was awesome. Love eating there.
Delicious food and accommodating service!
Good service. Great food.
Had some dietary restrictions which staff
Easily handled to our satisfaction.
Everyone pleasant, attentive made all of us happy.
Would go again!
The food was so delicious but the service was slow. And though the food was really amazing, it's very expensive to me. For a special day, it was a terrific choice!
Love Carmine’s!! Best stop before or after the Broadway shows!
We are always pleased with our experience at Carmine’s! A tasty meal and a fun experience! Great service!
Wonderful time with thoughtful service
A true and yummy NYC experience! Great food, fabulous ambiance and friendly service!
