Casalinga has been one of our favorite restaurants but we had not been there since it was renovated and expanded, so we were pleasantly surprised and glad to see that.

The food is always A+. Hubby had the Branzino con Gamberi and I had the Penne Casalinga and they were kind enough to accommodate my request to substitute Penne with Linguini. This dish was absolutely awesome!!! The chicken was perfectly cooked and moist and the White wine butter cream sauce --you could just lick the plate!!!

The Torta de Nocciola was fabulous!!!

We would recommend this restaurant to all our friends!!!

This was my second time there. Last time was dinner and the service was terrible and the risotto was undercooked. Yesterday we came for lunch. Service was better because not as busy and I asked everyone in my party that I could not guarantee the risotto as a good choice. What we did have was very good.

Casalinga is a delightful neighbourhood space with excellent service and food. They are diligent and attentive. The menu is varied and reliable. It is lovely to have an easy, relaxed place to meet with friends especially if they are just off the GO train.

It was a very nice restaurant and the food was delicious. However, my boyfriend found a hair in his appetizer and we didn't feel it was dealt with correctly. We were just asked if we wanted another one but it was at the bottom and he was almost done eating this. The server just said that no one in the kitchen has long hair well my boyfriend is bald so it certainly wasn't his. This event left us disappointed but overall the food was delicious and we would probably return.

There are to many tables in this small space. People had to get up so we could fit between 2 tables to get to our own. I was touching the person sitting at the table behind me. Just not enough room. That said the food was very good and were able to enjoy a leisurely dinner, we were not rushed.

We frequent Casalinga often and always have experienced consistent good service. On the Wednesday before Valentine's Day they had pretty much a booked restaurant. There were only two servers plus the owner working. Needless to say the servers were run off their feet and some customers experienced some lag time. I think another server would have improved the service level to the norm we have been used to. This may have been a one of night. So consider this review constructive criticism only. We still will patronize this restaurant.

I would recommend that you serve the starter soup in a smaller bowl.
. It was delicious (chick pea and potato) but so filling I could hardly eat it all and could not eat anything else. I had ordered a salad but had to cancel it.

I came here with my family last Monday. The food was awesome! We ordered 3 plates of pizza, veil marsala, linguine pasta, grilled calamari and total price is just right. Not over price. Will definitely come back again to try more of their food.

I’ve always enjoyed Casalinga and would always recommend this restaurant to others. Now I will be careful about the recommendation. This was my first visit since they have expanded. Unfortunately the restaurant went from a place where you could enjoy conversation and outstanding food to a place where we had to yell at one another over the noise, and the food was just ok. The seating was also very disappointing. We sat at a table for 2 so close to the other tables we were participating in each other’s conversations. On the other side of us was the servers station. So there was always a group of servers trying to squeeze past our table. This was not welcoming at all.
The food: In the past I would honestly say that Casalinga’s gnocchi was the best I had ever tasted. Unfortunately this particular evening, while still good, it had lost its light fluffy goodness and was just like any other restaurant gnocchi.
So I will give them another try and hope that Casalinga has not suffered the fate of so many other restaurants when they decide to expand, losing that “something “ that made them so special.

The food was exquisite. Portion sizes are reasonable. Freshness and presentation were well represented.
Dishes ordered were the seafood pasta (special of the evening) and a Gnocchi Gorgonzola.
Antipasto, to start, was very fresh and a good variety of offerings.

This was a birthday dinner. There was no acknowledgement that this was a birthday, however. The wine list is dismal. When I suggested to the owner that perhaps they could stock a few Australian wines or something other than what they have, the response was total dismissal. He couldn't have cared less. I probably would recommend this restaurant for their food but certainly not for anything else.

We have been here a few times but every time we seem to get seated at a table that is very close to everyone else. Tables for two certainly don't allow for any private conversation. Not sure that I would return in the very near future. Somehow I don't think they would care. They have enough clientele to keep it alive.

We visit this restaurant very frequently. The restaurant has expanded their space and increased their staff including cooks. My veal chop was supposed to be cooked medium but arrived well done and a little burnt on the outside. They may be experiencing some temporary expansion pains. Otherwise, our anniversary dinner was very good.
