Saturday & Sunday: 4:00pm – 10:00pm
Recently redecorated and expanded, Casalinga is a great local spot in Clarkson for lunch or dinner. Food and service is great as always and the prices are quite reasonable. We will certainly go back!
Casalinga is a lucky find for us and right in our neighbourhood! Great Italian food and excellent service! Highly recommend getting reservations, this place fills up fast on weeknights and weekends and understandably so!
Very nice staff, food was amazing a good atmosphere would go again
Good Italian cuisine ,great pizzas and pasta dishes the sardine plate was well seasoned and tasty , good value for money Some tables are placed too tight to each other
Loved the food. Great service. Main meals good size portions and reasonable.
Been here a few times with friends and loce the renovations.
I’ve always enjoyed Casalinga and would always recommend this restaurant to others. Now I will be careful about the recommendation. This was my first visit since they have expanded. Unfortunately the restaurant went from a place where you could enjoy conversation and outstanding food to a place where we had to yell at one another over the noise, and the food was just ok. The seating was also very disappointing. We sat at a table for 2 so close to the other tables we were participating in each other’s conversations. On the other side of us was the servers station. So there was always a group of servers trying to squeeze past our table. This was not welcoming at all.
The food: In the past I would honestly say that Casalinga’s gnocchi was the best I had ever tasted. Unfortunately this particular evening, while still good, it had lost its light fluffy goodness and was just like any other restaurant gnocchi.
So I will give them another try and hope that Casalinga has not suffered the fate of so many other restaurants when they decide to expand, losing that “something “ that made them so special.
The food was great. Friendly service. Didn’t have a reservation and were friendly and accommodating.
Excellent food and service
Had a wonderful dinner here. I had the Penne Casalinga and loved it! My husband really enjoyed his pasta with mussels and shrimp. Fabulous atmosphere, great service. Wish I had discovered this little gem sooner. Highly recommend.
The food was exquisite. Portion sizes are reasonable. Freshness and presentation were well represented.
Dishes ordered were the seafood pasta (special of the evening) and a Gnocchi Gorgonzola.
Antipasto, to start, was very fresh and a good variety of offerings.
This was a birthday dinner. There was no acknowledgement that this was a birthday, however. The wine list is dismal. When I suggested to the owner that perhaps they could stock a few Australian wines or something other than what they have, the response was total dismissal. He couldn't have cared less. I probably would recommend this restaurant for their food but certainly not for anything else.
We have been here a few times but every time we seem to get seated at a table that is very close to everyone else. Tables for two certainly don't allow for any private conversation. Not sure that I would return in the very near future. Somehow I don't think they would care. They have enough clientele to keep it alive.
We visit this restaurant very frequently. The restaurant has expanded their space and increased their staff including cooks. My veal chop was supposed to be cooked medium but arrived well done and a little burnt on the outside. They may be experiencing some temporary expansion pains. Otherwise, our anniversary dinner was very good.
Always delicious and consistent food and friendly service.
We took a friend & her husband to celebrate a milestone birthday and we couldn't have been more pleased with the venue and food. Very busy evening so the service was a bit slow understandably. Recently renovated and so quite lovely. Sound level is quite high as the restaurant is open and quite busy so difficult for people with hearing challenges.
I would highly recommend this restaurant - The value is outstanding the food the great. We have frequented this restaurant several times for both dinner and lunch and will continue to return and recommend to others with confidence.
Great value place is much roomier and comfortable than ever love the location and can't wait to come back.
Great restaurant to go and enjoy a special meal. Now with the renovation done, even better. Very attentive staff.
I’ve been to Casa Linga numerous times. Each time I’m treated with the utmost respect and care. The food is always perfect. The service is amazing. If you’re looking for an excellent meal with a warm environment, I highly recommend Casa Linga.
Can’t wait to go back!
Great food at a fantastic price but since the expansion, service has been slow and a bit inattentive.
First time going there and will go back!
Generally food was excellent but was very disappointed in Calamari ,Previously a favorite appeared to be frozen whereas before they seemed fresh.
The food is amazing as always. I have loved this restaurant since my first visit and have been waiting for it to reopen after the renovations. The food was as fantastic as always but they were quite busy and seemed to have forgotten about our dessert. Our mains came out within 10 min but we had to wait over 30 for dessert. Would still recommend any day though!
Fantastic meal and service. It was like being back in Italy. Authentic Italian cuisine. Glad we found it.
First time back at Casalinga since the renovation and as always enjoyed a lovely meal. The renovation looks amazing and has really opened up the restaurant.
Food as always was 10/10
Bigger and better. Was waiting for them to re open after renos. Was so nice to see. Food was amazing as always and the ambience is excellent. Just deciding when we will return.
Very slow and very inattentive service. Servers did not seem to have sections or any steps of service. Our waters were never refilled and no one checked on the quality of our food at any point (apps, entrees, desserts). Food was very tasty and nicely presented, but we ordered one entrée to go (the gorgonzola gnocchi) and someone else in our party had the same dish plated for their dinner and somehow the sauces on each were entirely different - one was thick and creamy, the other was watery and thin. Strawberry "gelato" was just strawberry ice cream and did not have the texture of gelato at all, plus it had small chunks of freezer-burn-type ice in it. Not great. Line at the door was at times long and was very visible from everywhere in the restaurant, making you feel rushed to finish up so they can sit the next guests. There's also just one entrance but it looks like there are two, and DOZENS of guests walked up to the "false" entry and tried the locked doors. We were sitting right behind these doors, one of which just had a paper sign taped to it pointing to the actual entrance. This was annoying and distracting from our dining experience. Prices were good but it doesn't seem like this place knows what they're doing in terms of being a restaurant.
I would not dine here again.
Casalinga Ristorante was recommended to us by those who know their Italian cuisine! Want to let you know that a wonderful night was had by all! The meal was amazing, so many delicious sounding menu options, it was tough to choose. Everyone enjoyed their selections. We were a large-ish group - 9 of us including 2 children; our table was comfortable, nice ambiance, and we were treated with personal, attentive service, We’ll definitely be back!
Best Gnocci with Gorgonzola
Only complaint is the tables are far too close together. I felt like the people next to us were part of our group.
My wife and I enjoy quality, healthy and consistently enjoyable meals. Casalinga is our neighborhood Italian getaway, when we wosh we could stroll up to an authentic restaurant in Tuscany, but don’t want to fly over.
The place is owner-run, the food always delivered in a timely manner with wonderful presentation, Italian flare and wonderful flavors.
I had the Penne with sausage, my wife loved the Fresh Grilled Sardines with salad, and the Capresensalad my University age daughter was stunning.
Great food, excellent value and consistently good. We have been dining here for 5 years.
Easy parking (free) and always large portions for doggie-bag lunches the next day.
Food was very tasty and staff was nice. Good menu selection yet not so many options that you can’t decide.
Very modest setting in a rather ran down location but the food was very tasty and service was good as well.
Went on a Saturday night. They had two sittings 6:30 and 8 pm. Got there at 8 and had to wait 15 mins for table as no one from earlier sitting was done. Wish they just took regular reservations . Food was good and price was reasonable. Had to ask what specials were. People who sat down after us got to order before us. Other then that service was good.
My only complaint was the air conditioning blowing down on me. Wish I had brought a sweater. Great food and service! I'll go back. With warmer clothing 😉
Service always great. The food is made perfectly. I had pizza this time and previous visits I ordered pasta. Salads are good too. Definitely recommend. Only issue is dinner reservations are inconvenient. They have set times.
Good honest food , good inoffensive service
Great food & service! Too bad the space is tight - it's super popular by the looks of how busty it was Saturday night.. will definitely go back.
Always good! And always busy.. the owners are very welcoming and the food never disappoints..
My go to Italian in the west end. Great food. Great service. Unbeatable.
Excellent from start to end...service, food, price! This was my 1st visit but definitely not my last!
The food was hot and delicious a good size portion. I had the pesto pasta with chicken which was very tasty and my husband who has a white wine allergy had the seafood pasta, which the chef modified based on his allergy and it too was very tasty.
We will definately be back real soon as it is rare to find a decient place these days.
