Casalinga Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Consistently good food. Excellent service in a simple setting. Italian cuisine done well. No over the top, exotic dishes. Just fresh ingredients, put together in classic recipes. I have been here for business & personal, lunch & dinner and I can be assured that my companions will be impressed.
This is one of our favorite places.
Great quality freshly made food.
We have been sooo.. many times and never have we had any but a great meal.
This is a modest restaurant with great food and very quick service.
Very friendly staff matched with equally delicious food! Didn't get to try the pastas but the pizzas were very delicious (and not too salty). It's not spacious inside so I recommend making a reservation beforehand.
Our latest visit was on Friday night.Soon after we arrived every seat in the house was full. It does get crowded and noisy on Friday and Saturday evenings but that is because they offer great Italian food, prepared with a flair not usually seen. We discovered this gem about 2 years ago and have been regulars ever since. I have found it also good for business lunches
We had pizza, arugula salad, caesar salad and penne. Great food and good portions.
Joe, the waiter is extremely nice and we felt welcomed.
Small restaurant reservations are advised.
2nd time going - both times the same - excellent food - friendly fast service and noted it was full of likely regulars as its location wouldn't just draw you in. I will be going back
Lovely small, casual Italian restaurant with reasonable prices and hefty portions. They even gave us free dessert since it was our Anniversary!
Our table for 6 was cramped. We asked to move maybe to a bigger one. They said it was booked. That party arrived and it was only 5 people. They did not consider moving another smaller table to add table length at the end, but the first response was so offish so we did not suggest that. At one stage thee were so many starter plates on the table, my daughter was left holding the one platter in the air for minutes while we tried to make space. The restaurant was not full, it was a special occasion, we did not feel special.
Great home cooked tasty Italian food. Friendly server
Delicious, freshly prepared food with excellent service! Highly recommend!
Casalinga is truly a neighbourhood gem .
The place appears big from the outside but is actually quite small as it as a very huge bar (without any seating at the bar) which takes almost 1/4 of the place. No wonder the place gets full very quickly over the weekends.
From the moment we walked in, we were pampered. Both Joseph and Linda took very good care of us.
They had a quite a few vegetarian options as well on the menu. We started off with Potato Leek soup for my mom, and hubby and I shared Melazana Parmigiana, followed by Pollo Picata and Osso Bucco. Hubby said that the Osso Bucco was the best he has ever had. My Picata was very good too. Followed by two lovely desserts - Crème Brulee and Hazelnut Torta (which was outstanding).
It was almost like dining at home-so cozy and comfortable.
They are planning to have Wine Tastings (in the hopefully, near future).
Definitely, worth repeated visits - and we were surely make it our favorite haunt.
The serving size in the pasta was huge. The appetizer not so much. The food was delicious though
We dine here regularly and, as always, the food was great and the service was outstanding.
Divine good, amazing service by Linda and the entire team....a perfect evening. We can't wait to go back. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Service and meal was again wonderful!
Our favourite spot for pizza!
When we made our reservation a week in advance there was very limited availability so we took this as a positive. We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant with a waiter telling us it will fill up-it did not. When we left there was only one couple left. There is virtually no decor in a very awkward room with 80's floor tile. The food was just OK. We had to pour our own wine 3 times even though the server was only about 2 m away.
Been many times. Nice restaurant for Italian food that is well done and authentic.
Can always count on good food and excellent service!
Like always, they provide an excellent service. The food is to die for and it doesn't matter which dish I choose, it's never disappointing.
First time and won't be my last. Great food for the value. Large portions. The place is a little small so can get loud at times. The service was quick.
As usual we had a great experience. Best Caesar salad around. The pizza was exceptional and the service is wonderful. This is a must visit in Mississauga
What a fantastic night! Our waiter, Vince was so attentive and took such great care of us from the moment we sat down. The venue is small and intimate. We enjoyed our date night with casalinga.
Another wonderful meal at Casalinga. We both started with the very tasty soup of the day, green lentil, potato and fennel, and then split the very large portioned grilled veal with spaghetti and garlic oil. We asked for the main to be light on the garlic and the chef did it perfectly. As always, the waiters were wonderfully friendly and attentive.
We've been to casalinga about five times and the experience has always been great. The food is amazing in every way and the service is very friendly and accommodating. We usually have gone for special occasions but are thinking of going more often.
This place never disappoints! My favourite place to dine closest to home
As always fantastic meal! The staff is amazing and always makes great recommendations. They even went so far as to bring us a desert to help us celebrate our anniversary. This has become our favourite restaurant.
Fantastic food!! Tastes as if you are at someone's home rather than a restaurant. Wonderful service and great vegetarian options. Sauce in my ravioli dish was superb!!! Would definitely go back and highly recommend it. Thank you for a great meal Casalinga!
Our dinner was excellent. The fish and pasta dishes are top notch. The wine selection was very good. Of course the desserts were delicious. We will return again absolutely.
Outstanding service and food as usual. The best Italian restaurant that is still run as a family owned independent business.
Hidden gem in Clarkson Village, small and cozy venue with lots of windows. The proprietor Mario will make a dish if not on the menu, provided ample notice is given. I have asked for Cioppino (fish/seafood stew) and it was amazing, brings back memories of San Francisco.
The staff will know by name after your visit, looking forward to many more revisits
I love Casalinga! I've never had a bad dish. I will continue to go there.
Fantastic service and food. Gorgonzola gnocchi to die for! Would definitely recommend and will be a return customer!
This is my third visit to Casalinga- my husband loved the trout but I wasnt overly impressed with the penne casalinga😦 On previous visits I tried the pizza which is delish and the Spaghettini salsicce which was amazing. This time though...The penne was gummy, the chicken seemed more baked than grilled and the wine butter cream sauce was watery - maybe I just got a bad batch. Would still recommend - maybe they just need to perfect this particular dish. We had an excellent server, great wine and a lovely evening.
We had a very nice dinner at Casalinga. I had the ravioli and my wife had the grilled veal and pasta. Everything was delicious. The service was warm, friendly and professional.
Mario and the staff (Joe & Vince) were exceptional with there great Italian dishes and hospitality.
It's a great little place. The atmosphere is amazing and the service was great. The huge windows definitely helped open up the little space. Loved it!
The service and food was excellent. We had a lovely dinner. We will definitely return.
Delicious food. Great Italian cooking. Outstanding service
I have been to Casalinga many times and I always leave telling myself that I must return. One word of caution to newbies to Casalinga; make a reservation.
