Catch Kitchen & Bar

Hi: enjoyed everything about our visit...two of us had the warm seafood salad - the only negative content is that all of the seafood was overcooked. The variety of seafood was great, and we liked the addition of the baby potatoes...but the chef needs to cook the seafood a little less. Some of it tasted like it had been cooked earlier - it was quite dry.
Dinner was slow coming out but food was good. I think everyone arrived at the same time. Amazing sunset and views of the harbour and the Gulf Islands.
Great place. Food was excellent and service was top notch
Very friendly and efficient service. Food was delicious.
The dinner was good overall but the soup and salad course came with the entrees so I t made the meal a little rushed. I think it was just a miscommunication but spoiled the relaxing vibe.
It has been night day from when it first opened until now. The food has greatly improved and the service the same.
When you go, ask George to be your server.
Food was great and service was too! The view is one of the best in Steveston
One of the best views in Steveston and delicious local cuisine. Great for a small meal like a bowl of chowder or a full meal. Friendly, efficient service.
Food & service was exceptional. Would totally recommend for casual get together as special occasions. Location & food would serve either dining experience well!
This is my go to restaurant down here in Steveston. Beautiful patio setting with great view of Steveston.
The reason for the low rating is their inconsistency in service. Yesterday's service was sub-par at best.
I love coming here for their salmon burger.
I recommend coming here during happy hour to try out the food and drinks.
The only drawback is their inconsistent service standard. Otherwise, great view from the patio and a great way to enjoy Steveston.
Food was great, large portions and options for everyone's taste. Would definitely go back again.
I was really excited to try this restaurant with my mother and mother-in-law, as recommended by a friend. Food was good, although over priced. The service, however, was terrible. I had to get our server's attention every time we needed anything. He barely did any of the work... another female server ran our food, cleared our plates, etc.
We went there on a quiet Tuesday evening. And despite the restaurant not being very busy, the staffs were not very friendly/ accommodating. We asked if there's any table outside, and our host simply pointed at a random table and said "we can't now, you can take this or not". We took the table anyway. Shortly after we ordered our food, and waited for over 30 mins (we didn't order anything too complicated, just a pasta, a fish and chips, and a flatbread). So I waved our waiter over and asked if he can check with the kitchen, which he did and return with all our food immediately. I suspect he simply forgot to bring them over and the food has probably been sitting under the heat lamp for a while. Overall, the food was good, service less so.
Decided to come here with my fiance for a nice dinner to end our long day. I forget what the name of the restaurant t used to be before it turned into "catch" but wanted to go in Hope's of still some amazing food! Boy were we wrong and regretting not going to the place downstairs! The stuffed mushroom caps were amazing but our mains were insanely bland, cold and over battered that the fish for the fish and chips were mushy! The server was brutally honest about the featured soup, which I would have gotten if it was something good but she literally said it looked disgusting but tastes amazing.... uhm lol I cannot eat something if it looks disgusting lol. The place was not busy at all so I did feel like the service lacked? Or maybe the server we had just didnt want to be there! I will definitely not be back... it was not worth our money
We have been to Catch 2x and both times was fantastic! The food, service and ambiance is amazing.
We have told most of our friends who live in the lower mainland to visit Catch, we unfortunately live in Calgary so don't get to eat there a lot ….
Great view, excellent food and outstanding service.
Bustling seafood restaurant in the heart of Steveston Village. Menu was extensive and service was pretty good even though it appeared our server was fairly new.
The patio view is great. Best in Steveston. The uninspired and overcooked food does not match the patio ambience. If they could improve on that the place would have lineups.
Our server was amazing ! He was charming and professional. All six of us enjoyed our meals.
We will return.
Always a treat to come to Catch! Love supporting local business and friends in the Steveston area- it totally helps that the food and views are both amazing whether it’s a sunny patio brunch or a cozy evening dinner watching the storm hit the ocean, it’s always a pleasure. Can’t wait to come back and enjoy the Kung pow bowl again- my husband can’t stop raving about it, and I a fan of the fresh fish and crab cakes!! Recommend? HIGHLY
The place is nice, our server was great and lots of fun and the menu looked great. It was the quality and taste of the food that kind of let us down. The edamame was so salty it needed watering down, the halibut was lacklustre and the pear and goat cheese salad was mostly just a bed of spinach with gobs of goat cheese on top. Disappointed. Our server was lots of fun though and very helpful with our large group.
We were graciously seated by a window with a good view. The purpose of the lunch get together was to spend time with family prior to going to the airport for an overseas flight. There was a large group seated in the raised portion of the restaurant. Our waitress advised that the kitchen was busy getting their order prepared which was the reason for the delay of our order.
Our order was nearly an hour in arriving. When our lunch was over, I had to call the waitress to get our bill.
Two days earlier I had received good service, so obviously their service is "spotty".
Food and scenery are good. However, please don't clean up while customers leave the table and use the restroom.
I lived in the steveston area for a year and never ate here. I was looking for a date night restaurant and was recommended to go here the food was great and the view was even better. I would recommend this place to anyone
Amazing view!!! Great food, service, and good value for your money. Will definitely go again!!!!
I had no idea that it was even possible to overcook salmon to that degree. I'll never go back.
Visited Vancouver and our hotel recommended the Catch - excellent food - nice staff - and the view is fantatsic. Highly recommend the place. Spinah and artichoke dip was amazing!
Very slow food service. Waitress was great and apologized for the food taking a long time. One of the side plates came out dirty and was exchanged after we told the waitress. Overall not bad but not sure if I would go here again based on this experience.
It was very busy, yet the staff remains friendly and the food was hot and very tasty!
- great beer selection
-kitchen was backed up, burger took 45+ mins , waitress was great and attentive . Burger came out and needed to be sent back.
-salmon dish, had the blackened salmon and was disappointed at the dry plain white rice.
- very underwhelming
I only leave an overall rating of poor because it took over an hour to get our food. The server was friendly and apologized it was taking so long. She assured us that the Manager was on it. After watching everyone around us eat and leave we got our dinners. The food was good and the service was friendly. When given the bill I wasn’t expecting a discount but I would have liked an apology from the Manager. As a Manager in customer service I would have supported my staff by at least checking on the guests. We will still go back.
Overall was good but it took over 1 hour to get our food because the kitchen was very slow. We have heard of other customers experiencing the same slow kitchen.
The food was excellent. The service was very slow and it was lunch and not busy at all. Nobody came over to ask if we wanted dessert or if there was anything else. I had to flag someone down after wIting to get the cheque.
I had booked he reservation from open table but when we arrived, they could not locate our reservation. A table had just become clear though so we were able to be seated right away. Service was incredibly slow - the waitress told us after that they had “over seated” her so she found it challenging. Food and wine was amazing!!
My family and I had a great experience at Catch last weekend. The server was knowledgeable, attentive and pleasant. The food was overall very good, if I had to say something negative, the salt level on the calamari was off the charts. All in all a fantastic, memorable evening.
Found hair in my salad;
Bathrooms were dirty which is a good indication of what the kitchen looks like;
Waiter was awesome but front desk girls and other waitresses weren’t too friendly;
Won’t be coming back
We went for mothers day brunch. That being said, understandably we knew it would be a wait...but after ordering, our food took over 1 hour..and we were already there for close to 45min....go when it's not a weekend or a special occasion. Food was really tasty though.
Food was great, service was awesome I definitely will be back here.
