The restaurant was very busy but did a fantastic job hosting our birthday table of 10. Thanks so much!
Had high hopes based on the look 9f the menu. But drinks were average and so was the food and service.
Pizza was OK but the "deep dish" crust wasn't great and looked partly undercooked. Ribs were ok but the mashed potatoes were either from a box or just severely underseasoned...no flavour.
Server came to check on us and ask if we needed anything else after we'd already finished our meals. (Bit late!)
Wouldn't return, sorry.
We had the clams as a starter, recommended by the server, very good taste. Well done. Service was as good as it gets.
Lamb was fabulous
Fabulous as always
Food and service always excellent.
always quick and pleasant service with great food!
Happy hour was great! Food tasted good and service was good as well! Outdoor seats are close to the road and that caused some loud vehicle noise. Maybe some outdoor music would help evade that! But overall great place and yum food!
Always is a great visit
Love going to Charcoal and Woodz. Great food, great service and they have the best steak bites. Happy hour is pretty good too.
Stayed at the hotel and was able to sample much of the menu. We dined at the restaurant on their patio and also tried room service. Very good food with great variety! Especially enjoyed their appetizers and their short rib and osso bucco!
It was so so. The ambience was dead but the happy hour was a good deal.
Service is always awesome. Food is always great. I do find it a bit pricey for the basics but they do have a great happy hour. I will continue to support this business ♡♡♡
We heard about it through Dine Out Vancouver. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was nice and good service. We will be back.
Enjoyed a multi course meal through Done-out-Vancouver. We were very happy with the food, excellently prepared, very tasty. Service was excellent, quick and pleasant. The owner (I think) also goes around and and makes sure you are happy with everything and seems to know all his regulars.
We'll be back for sure.
Great meal. Everything was cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. It was nice to get a free glass of wine included from a local winery and an extra starter course as well
The food was okay - nothing special, but the steaks my partner and I got were both unseasoned, the potatoes were bland, the peach in my dessert was too hard to cut through and overall just meh food. Our server was not very nice and didn’t give off a welcoming vibe. When I complained that the potatoes were bland she stated, “why didn’t you tell me before?”. It came off quite rude and I had just taken a bite of the potatoes a minute before she came to our table so I wasn’t holding this information from her previously.
The next day I received a phone call from the restaurant saying our credit card didn’t go through and that we needed to come back and pay! First off, that’s their own mistake and should not be calling people to get them to come back to pay. Secondly, I didn’t even pay with a credit card and when I told her that it went through in my online banking just fine she said that because it’s the weekend and may be approved for now but won’t be on Monday. After I hung up to call my bank, I got a call again from the restaurant and she said she called the wrong reservation and that I was okay and payment had gone through. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. I do not recommend this place to ANYONE. Stay away.
We got the dine out menu, poor decision that was. Best thing was the salad, otherwise everything else did not taste good at all! It was messy, awfully presented, and my friend has to eat around there salmon because the middle of it was cooked through. Would not recommend.
Overall an enjoyable dinner outing that was not too far from home. Friendly and attentive!
Service was excellent! Did the whole Dine Out Vancouver with a girlfriend and for $44 the food was an awesome value with 4 courses and house glass of wine. Both of us are eating keto style and they accommodated us no issues. I had the steak oscar, steak was good, not an amazing cut but very tasty and cooked medium rare to perfection. Pork belly was to die for, great spring salad and did not partake in the dessert or wine option due to keto. My company also loved her food, ordered soup, prawn cocktail and lamb busso which was done perfectly. Will be back for sure for that lamb myself lol
Our visit was very nice. Great value. 4 courses including a glass of wine. I had the steak oscar which was very nice only problem was the steak knife. I used the dinner knife instead. My husband had the salmon which was really good. Dessert was wonderful. I would go there again.
Good food. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Price was good for done out menu.
Positives - Service was not bad.
We booked this place to try out their Dine Out Vancouver menu mainly for the Osso Buco dish that was being served with risotto. When we got there the Dine Out menus has been changed only to reveal the risotto had been taken out. When asked why the menu had changed the waitress mentioned: "oh we ran out." Talk about the worst excuse. Like Dine Out just started ur telling me that u had SO many customers ordering the Osso Buco that u ran out?! BS
It was all downhill from there. Every dish was nasty. The butternut squash soup was from a can and was watered down, the salad was overdressed, the shrimp cocktail was served with ketchup, the steak bites were WAY too salty (had to be remade only to be glistening in oil second time) the steak and osso buco were avg. The side of fries were good. Had to return the sangria too was nasty and had to be returned. Desserts were avg but im pretty sure they were not cooked in house. Saving grace was the spaghetti bolognese which we ordered for our daughter. That was pretty good. All in all an awful restaurant experience. Avoid like the plague.
Soup was cold. The steak bites were salty and the fish was blah. Peach Melba had red syrup! The restaurant is run down....
We've recently moved into the area and the restaurant is fairly close. My husband and I wanted to have a nice dining experience during the Dine Out Vancouver 2021 event.
The experience was dismal at best. We made reservations for 7pm, told our server that we didn't want to rush the meal as we wanted to enjoy a few drinks. We were finished 4 courses and paid by 8:10. We didn't have time to finish a drink.
The service was equivalent to cafeteria service and the food was poorly displayed and didn't taste much better.
The chocolate cake had obviously been sliced and plated much earlier in the day. It was crusty from being dried out on the edges and the chocolate drizzle was frozen on the plate.
It's best suited as a sports bar to get a beer and have some fries.
It was costly at $44pp and I would not recommend this place.
Cozy, comfortably warm, nice soft music, attentive staff. We ll be back.
I was a first timer the food was ok , drink way too strong .In will be back in future to try the lobster
Went for Dine out. Everything was just OK, I would compare to pub food. Nothing fancy. If your looking for an upscale dinner this is NOT the place.
We tried the restaurant for Dine out Vancouver. Very nice ambiance and the menu had lots of selection. The lamb was good, big portions, but a tad salty for our tastes. The salmon was also very good, but smaller portions. Great service and very nice ambiance.
Our waitress Deandra was so friendly and helpful. Her service was impeccable. Even the manager checked in with us to ensure we were enjoying ourselves and our meal. We opted for the 4 course Dine Out menu which also came with a glass of wine. Each course was well prepared with lots of flavour. For the main course both my wife and I opted for the lamb shank in an Italian sauce and it was absolutely fabulous. Tender fall off the bone meat and so delicious. The price for all of this was excellent. We'll be coming back.
Decor felt like a hotel breakfast bar, but the food was tasty. Presentation could use some work (dine out ‘shrimp cocktail’ special was served in a plastic wine glass)
I was really unimpressed with the food quality. The steak was a bad cut and under seasoned then smothered in a salty sauce. Bagged carrots that were under cooked. Boring salad. Butternut soup was ok but cold. Shrimp cocktail was pitiful. Two prawns served with ketchup over melted ice. The dessert looked store bought. I won’t go back to eat.
Large menu great daily specials very loud on sports nights but if that's your thing..lots of TV s and fun
Butternut squash Soup was brown and lumpy, tasted like masala and curry was added.salmon was raw throughout.

Feb 2,2020 went for Dine Out. Table reservation for 3. Shoved in back of restaurant and cold air coming thru door. Menu options lamb, ribs, steak or salmon. Two chose ribs 1 steak which was to be medium. Salads and soup came first all good. Shortly after our entrees. Ribs lathered in BBQ sauce, gross and we’re a very poor quality of ribs, tasteless. The steak was overcooked not medium although was better than ribs. Lots of potatoes and vegies on the plate but generic no thought process or presentation. No bread given either. Anyway during dinner Superbowel was on very loud. A large family I’m thinking owners family seated beside us. Their kids were running all around, parents did nothing. Cook it manager even came out of kitchen to talk to his kid to settle him down. Throughout our dinner several family members went in and out of kitchen, even kids. That shouldn’t be allowed!!!!’ Dessert was the best cheesecake with blueberry compote although can guarantee they didn’t make it in house! Would never go back!!!!! Dine out menu is served to impress you, this was a joke. Very disappointing! Don’t waste your time
The bar was close by and quite noisy. Mixed salad was good. Salmon smelled fishy as the plate was placed in front of me. Cheesecake was not fresh. Service was okay.

Went to Dine out Vancouver 2020, restaurant not as advertised. Atmosphere and decor was like a budget family restaurant. Steaks were tough, grisly and flat ironed (1/2 inch thick). Service as almost too good. We had to ask the server to slow down as the plates were piling up and we had not finished the courses yet. Felt like we were being rushed to free up table for next guest

Food was decent. Waiter didn’t come around often enough.

Started by having to wait a while for a server, when the server arrived she was very good. Felt rushed through the dining process, I had not even finished my appetiser when the dinner was put down on the table, would have preferred to have rested for a few minutes. When the main course was eaten, I requested to have some time before our dessert be served; this was duly noted and time allowed. The Dine Out Vancouver menu provided a choice of 2 appetisers - Salad or Soup both were very good. There were 5 Entree choices all sounded delicious we chose the Lamb Osso Bucco served with Rissoto and mixed vegetables, this we both thought was well presented and tasted great. Dessert choice was Cheesecake or Spanish coffee, again we enjoyed both. Yes, I will return!
Hi Sue :) We are thrilled you enjoyed your Dine Out experience. We would love to serve you again, hopefully soon!
We mistakenly went on a dine out Vancouver event and was seated at a banquet make shift table and was refused a vacant booth - the meal was served while we were still eating our salads
all of our entrées - the steak was cooked nicely but we could not cut the meat due to excessive gristle running through the meat
They also had a private party at the rear of the restaurant which was very noisy so that we could not have a visit we had to leave. Very disappointed in our experience
