Took my wife out for our first date night in 16 months! Our server was awesome! Very knowledgeable, offered some amazing recommendations and we had a great chat with him whenever he was table side.
The food was incredible! The truffle poutine was so so good.
There was a larger party that was slated to come in a little while after we got there, so our server forewarned us and we were well prepared.

If you're looking for a socially distanced patio experience, this is good, although the ambiance isn't great, on a busy downtown street. Interesting people-watching anyhow. And the food was great.
Definitely a little disappointed in the overall experience. The menu was empty, we went on the one page and thought there was going to be more. Drinks are just okay, nothing extraordinary. Food was not spectacular either.
Friendly staff and mgr a positive. Steak was a little underwhelming, tough on one side of all three orders. Had all four deserts (including cookies). High marks for all. The porchetta was well received by two persons that ordered it. Waitress was nice, but didn't really know how to serve an old Bordeaux (but $25 corkage worked for me). In their defense just getting up and running after Covid break. Will try again in a few months.
The prime rib is exceptional. I am looking forwards to try the pasta in the menu.
We came to Charcut to celebrate our anniversary. From the moment we walked in the door, we were quickly greeted by Samuel and congratulated on our anniversary. Samuel was our server for the night and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic night. He was so friendly and welcoming, it honestly felt like we were there chatting with a friend. We will be coming back not only because the food was amazing but because the service experience we had with Samuel was outstanding.
Best bone marrow ever!
Food was disappointing. Cheese focaccia had potential but came out a bit cold and tuna was dry and lacked flavor. Our group had pasta, prime rib, chicken and porchetta. Porchetta came out dry and over cooked, chicken was decent but nothing to write home about. Pasta was good but for $10 addition of truffles, could hardly taste them. Parmesan fries were decent and the asparagus was good. For dessert the cheesecake was burnt (and dry), the affagoto was hard to screw up and the salted caramel with the crunch was decent enough. Had ordered a few espresso martinis and they were perfect but ordered another two and they came out with some Irish cream in them? It isn’t shocking that you’re able to get a prime time dinner reservation last minute - I can see why. Won’t be rushing back anytime soon.
Sat us down, water glasses quickly filled, then ignored us for 5 minutes. Restaurant was mostly empty, staff knew we were sitting quietly looking at the ceiling…
Manager came over and dropped off a menu. Brought 2 complimentary drinks to appease our displeasure. Service was good after that.

The server was rushed and was not listening. We asked a question about something and instead of stopping and actually listening he answered while in motion and was completely off. He then of course got our order wrong.
It was too loud in the restaurant, this probably played a factor

Menu is small and seems incongruent with an Alberta steakhouse.. mostly Italian dishes on menu.
Called ahead and asked if they had a burger on the menu, yes they do. When asked for a burger IRL, they don't have burgers.
Happy they could serve and graciously seat 8 of us! That was a definite plus !!

Great server. Affable manager. Mediocre food. Rubbery steak, which came precut. Dry pork. Flavorless ceasar salad. Way too much money for the below average food quality. Nice location near the Calgary tower.
Service was great. Menu was simple but had a good variety. Prime rib was good as well as the parm fries and pull apart cheese foccacia
Food and service was excellent, next time we come to Calgary we will go back.
I've been to Charcut Calgary several times and unfortunately this one was a bit disappointing. It was Stampede time but the restaurant seemed understaffed and service was slow. The waiter tried to do his best but it was obvious that it was difficult. Food was ok but my NY strip was full of gristle and we also saw another patron questioning the quality of that steak. Not great when you are in Alberta and have a disappointing piece of beef. We will go back but likely will wait until they perhaps get back to normal given just opening back up after the shutdowns.

The menu was limited. The server, while nice and friendly, was clearly inexperienced. A mistake was made on every food item, including a guest sending back a cold steak. we ordered two 100$ plus wine bottles and glasses were poured only once by the server for the first bottle - without a tasting. it took over 45 minutes to get our bill correct. the manager removed about $100 from our over $400 bill but the service was so poor - and the 45 minute wait to still not get the bill (for 6 ppl) sorted - this really wasnt enough. i ended up putting everything on one card and we will sort it out ourselves. i used to enjoy going to charcut-was my go to for good service and good food in a downton location. sadly, i wont be going back nor can i recommend charcut to anyone. there are so many other excellent choices with superb service in calgary. i am sympathetic to people working in the service industry (as i used to), but when dropping almost 500$ for dinner i expect good service, good management, and good food.
Good lunch special and nice ambience. I would definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone who hasn't tried it yet,
The staff here is fantastic. The bartender Joel is a gem. If you are feeling adventurous let him make up a new cocktail on the spot for you.
I will start by saying the service was the best part of the meal. We had a reservation and the restaurant was only 20% full and still they seated us right beside the noisy open kitchen. The Bone marrow came out cold, they re-fired but still was only barely warm. The pork roast was over cooked and I had two large pieces of butcher twine on my pork, my guest had three small pieces on his prime rib. Not pleasant in your mouth. The side of asparagus was excellent and so was the Affogato. The meal was definitely NOT worth the price. Overall disappointed and won't return.
Matthew was a terrific server - quick and friendly. Food was delightful and just the right amount. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Birthday dinner. Servers were excellent. Good was average to mediocre. Given the expectation of the caliber of restaurant I was quite disappointed. The prime rib at the keg supersedes this one by leaps and bounds. The meatballs were salty and lacking a dimension of flavour one would expect from fine dining. I simply expected more, venturing away from our favourite haunts at the Vin Room, River Cafe, Modern Steak and the Nash. I’d give this a miss next time.
To be honest just wasn’t blown away. 1st time there. Very short menu. Thought food they had would be great but was sub par. Steak was cold, pasta chicken was nothing special although pasta was great. Great service! For price range not good value
Food, service and ambiance was fantastic. My partner is Celiac and the restaurant accommodated her dietary requirements exceptionally. Would highly recommend Charcut!

Charcut is always amazing for a work lunch, but their pop-up John and Connie's italian concept kind of missed the mark. They did not offer their other regular menu, and for the temperatures during the week while sitting on their patio, the last thing anyone wants to eat is carb and dairy-heavy american italian fare. Will come back when the regular menu returns but not excited about this "experience" they offered.
LOVE this place! Went tonight and the food and service we’re both better than expected!
Was curious about the Italian pop up and it did not disappoint! Don’t debate it, go all in on the mozzarella sticks..you won’t regret it.
I wish I had grabbed his name, but our server was the best! Great banter and wish he could have sat down and joined us for a drink! Grateful that he made our first restaurant experience in months a 10/10!!
What a great experience with Charcut’s Italian pop-up patio. My wife is a Celiac and the gluten free options are superb such that as someone who can eat gluten, I didn’t myself wanting for the non-GF options. They’re really well executed, especially the GF mozza sticks.

The food felt like it had been cooked earlier in the day or the day before, and then reheated. Drinks were overpriced. The tea was served lukewarm.
Hopefully, the real Charcut comes back as the pop up alternative was quite poor.
At first sitting street-side seemed odd but they made it very comfortable for us and it began to remind me of dining in Italy. We had a wonderful meal. My partner said ‘best ever pasta’ in fact. Truly enjoyable.

We had our last meal out before lockdown. Our evening started out really well, our waitress was lovely and friendly.
We ordered drinks and appetizers, which arrived in a timely manner. Our mains took 45 minutes to arrive. We asked for another drink and water refill that took longer and water refill was forgotten. My family enjoyed their meals. However , i have had better prime rib elsewhere. The Brussels sprouts were disappointing. They were very nice and gave us complimentary desserts for the long wait for our meals. It was a let down after a great start!
