    Great evening out celebrating our anniversary with some friends. Service was awesome, food was great! Some outstanding dishes, Branzino, assparagus and those truffle fries!

    The food yesterday was ok. Not what I have experienced with Charcut in the past. The sandwich was kinda dry, soup was fine. It wasn't a bad experience, it was mediocre, which is why 3 stars is what the review gets. Hopefully it was just a bad day and next time we go it will be back to its super yummy ways.

    I had been to Charcut a few year ago and remember really liking the steak I had on that occasion, so, I had high expectations when coming back the other night. Unfortunately I did not have a good food experience. The waiter recommended we not take the butcher cut steak and so I opted for the prime rib (8oz) and it was really just average and the sauce that was all over it was not good at all. I probably won't be back based on the current prices and options on the menu.

    My husband ordered the prime rib which was tough and stringy and served completely absent of any side. I ordered the Mediterranean Branzino (sea Bass). It was a very small, thin fry filet with some unremarkable polenta as it’s base. The worst was we order a gem salad with Caesar dressing and toasted herb bread crumbs. The lettuce was DROWNED in dressing and the herb crumbs over the top. It was HORRIBLE! On top of that the steak knife my husband was given to cut his steak was very dull. We sent back the salad and the manager did come by to apologize and removed the salad from our bill. We ate the other items.. regrettably. We also told her about the dull knife and she apologized and said they had new ones on order 😵‍💫. Also, We were seated by the window with a view of the street and 4 cement barricades which was not a great view but the restaurant probably didn’t have control of that.

    Side dishes (Asparagus and potatoes) were excellent but the prime rib was disappointing. It was not as tender as one would expect, and although I liked the smoke flavor, my wife didn’t care for it. Desert was tasty, but overpriced for what it is. (essentially chocolate and salted caramel pudding in a jar). If you’re wanting a good prime rib, I might look at some of the other option available within a short walk from Charcut.

    We came for dinner. We are from bc. Herds great things. We made reservations because we thought there would be a line up. But we we’re able to dine early. Food was great, but we ended up sitting behind a party of 6 that were well on their way in alcohol. They were very loud, laughing, yelling, talking extremely loud. I had asked our servers if they could say something but the answer was “ no” We just wanted a nice dinner and have a couple drinks but we we’re totally interrupted by these obnoxious people. So we’re decided to take our dinner to go and left.

    The waitress was unfriendly and did a poor job. The place was empty except our table. She forgot two meals so they came way later. When asked to omit an ingredient due to an allergy she lipped off the patron telling her that the omission would ruin the integrity of the dish. Unbelievable. She refused to change one persons focaccia for multigrain. Honestly I’ve never had this poor of an experience at Charcut. This server to me, does not represent your brand.

    We were in for breakfast service. The service was dreadfully slow and some orders were even forgotten. When substitutions were requested (in one case due to an allergy) they were denied because it would “compromise integrity of the dish”. Absolutely brutal service.

    We enjoy this restaurant a lot and will be back but this most recent experience was less than ideal. Our brisket was like a tough piece of jerky, almost inedible. Told server and nothing was done. Fruit flies surrounded us during our meal as well. Was noted on our reservation that it was a birthday occasion but nothing was mentioned.

    Hostess did not smile when she greeted us and acted like she was bored. Server was friendly and ok, but not engaging. Food was expensive for the offering. After spending over $300 for 2 people we are not impressed.

    Order two of the brunch steaks. Cooked well, but under seasoned. Poutine with bacon.....was not great. Bacon was given in 3 soggy pieces on the side of the poutine. Expected it to be crispy and mixed in with the fries/cheese curds. Best thing was their cinnamon rolls. Not worth the price unfortunately.

    A nice experience but did not meet our expectations. Food was good but we expected more, came for prime rib but found the dish to be tasty but underwhelming. Service was friendly and attentive but lacked refinement and finesse.

    Always love coming here, I don't think there is a restaurant in the city, where you will find this high of quality and taste for the price point. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner

    Food and environment were great. Our server was not. She was not attentive to allergy details and seemed to lose interest in us. We sat for a very long time with our completed plates not removed and sat much longer still waiting for our bill. Very disappointed. Been to enjoy lunch at Charcut many times, many. Worse service to date.

    One of the best restaurant I've been. Erica our server was joyful, professional and we could feel she liked her job. She provided us with great tips on the menu. the Tenderloin was perfectly delicious. Ambiance was great too.

    Your food was ok. The salad was out of a plastic box, the chicken sandwich was good but you had excess meat sticking out was difficult to work without removing. The waiter was covered in dog hair bad! He had an apron very friendly but seriously I was worried hair would drop in my food or water.

    I couldn’t find a wine that fit my taste, it seems as though they didnt have a huge variety of less dry wines. Food was great though and service was absolutely outstanding. Would recommend but for what it is, its pricey.

    Outstanding meal - terrific steak with awesome sides (the Poutine and the bone marrow especially). Our waitress, from New Zealand, was fantastic - friendly and informative. A memorable meal.
