Amazing experience celebrating our anniversary at Charleston. Staff are super attentive and food/wine is incredible.
Best meal ever
Our new favorite restaurant! We will go back.
AMAZING EXPERIENCE - simply wonderful! We went to celebrate my son's birthday and this restaurant was definitely the best choice. FANTASTIC attention to our needs, service, exquisite food!
A MUST FOR ONE AND ALL in BALTIMORE!
Amazing experience. Highly recommended from start to finish.
Very enjoyable, as usual. Great variety of choices. Very pleasant staff. I like the wine pairings.
Food was rather bland throughout 4 courses. Nothing really special. Could hear all the conversations around us which was distracting. Excellent service provided by Jocylene.
Charleston is one of the best in the country! It’s a unique spot and a great, memorable, place to celebrate special occasions. While it’s not inexpensive, you get what you pay for - excellent cuisine, service, and wine list. Moreover, it’s a beautiful setting.
Perfect as always service was exceptional as was the food
We have been to The Charleston many times and this may have been our best meal yet. We chose a 6 course meal with wine pairings and let the chef and sommelier chose all courses except we wanted one fois gras course and one beef course. They simply knocked this out of the park. Each course and wine pairing was simply delicious.
Four of us, who have fall birthdays, agreed to celebrate by dining at the most exquisite restaurant in Baltimore. We were not disappointed. We enjoyed the rabbit, the venison, the sweetbreads, the chef's special pasta, the unbelievably rich and velvety lobster bisque, the lamb, the rockfish, and more, which we shared with one another. It was a totally delightful evening, savoring each dish. Chef's presentations and culinary skills produced a magical evening with friends. The service was attentive and likewise exquisite.
Yes, we all are huge fans and will happily return in the future.
Perfect in every way!
The food and service are fantastic but the prices don’t reflect the food. It is very over priced for what you get.
Amazing experience. Service was exceptional. Very pleased with this dining experience.
Service was impeccable, restaurant is beautiful and food was very good.
We had the 3 course meal , I would have had the paired wines but for an extra $56 for only 3 3oz pours I opted for a glass of malbec ($19 for a 6 oz pour - excellent wine). We enjoyed our dinner, from the amuse bouche of mushroom soup and a gruyere puff, then appetizers of lobster bisque (very good, except lobster was not cooked through and my friend does not eat raw anything, so I ate it), salmon tartare (ok, a little bland), we both had the watermelon salad (very good), she had the lamb (excellent) and I the duck magret (excellent). Desserts were very good.
Food was average. Wine pairings were bad. Had high hope reading All the glowing reviews but we spent 160.00 for 2 people. Only standout was the lobster soup. Overall we were underwhelmed and disappointed.
Simply the best restaurant I’ve ever dined at with superb personal service. Felt like I was getting the service of a lifetime with all employees waiting on my every need. Seemed like perfect choreography as food was discussed and presented. From the matre de as we entered to the final course, nothing went amiss. I’d highly recommend if you would like to experience the best and get a real treat.
Had a fabulous time. Felt pampered the entire visit.
Thank you to Josh and entire team for a wonderful evening!
We had the lobster soup, oysters, scallops and duck. All were phenomenal. Service could not have been better and wines were paired extremely well
Once again a tremendous experience at Charleston! The menu had many new items ( it was 25 options long), all of which were wonderfully executed.
We brought friends who hadn’t been there for several years and it was like a totally new and wonderful experience for them.
As usual, the staff were very kind and knowledgeable. Which was helpful as some in our party struggled with a preparation using jalapeño oil, only to be informed by the staff that chef made the oil with no seeds. It had no spicy heat, just a wonderful flavor!
It is a joy to have such a great restaurant in Baltimore.
I dined at Charleston with my husband for a Saturday night out with no kids. The food was wonderful. We especially like the wine pairings.
Food, service all EXCELLENT; very congenial staff
some of the other customers a bit weird (drunk, stoned?, heavy on the plastic surgery)
Our meal at Charleston met all our expectations and more. Down to the amuse bouche, a small cup of lentil soup with an accompanying gougere, every course was delicious and beautifully presented. It may seem an incidental thing but even the china used was gorgeous. We do not go to Charleston often, to us it is a such special place and we want it to retain that sense of being the place to celebrate important events. Now to think of the next "important event"!
We have enjoyed Cindy and Tony's hospitality for 20+ years and they never disappoint. You always feel like Chef is cooking just for you and her 2, 3, or 4 course (plus always dessert) menu choices make dinning always a special occasion. Tony's unsurpassed wine list offer hard to find gems that highlight a fantastic evening. And if you want to be "completely taken care off", select the wine pairings with each of your courses.
This was delicious. Expensive and fancy, worth it's reputation as Baltimore's best restaurant. You choose from 3, 5, 7 courses. We got 3 for the 2 of is and shared everything and it was plenty. They saw that we had reservations at Bar Vasquez- their sister restaurant- the nest night so they comped us 2 glasses of Port at the end of the night. Super nice.
This was probably our favourite anniversary dinner venue of all time. Top rate! Expensive, yes, but worth every penny! Lovely menu with chef inspired cuisine featuring small plate portions to allow tasting lots of choices. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Wine recommendations were very good. Desserts were delicious. Would go back in a heartbeat.
The food was good, but not amazing overall given the price point.
My wife and I celebrated our 53rd wedding anniversary and were very happy with the entire evening. The wait staff, especially our waitress, Jocelyn, were very welcoming and accommodating throughout the evening. The food and wine pairings were excellent. It was a totally enjoyable evening to remember.
We thoroughly enjoyed every moment at Charleston. From the free Valet parking to each and every wait staff member - we felt pampered and special. Service goes above and beyond to accommodate every need and want. The food was impeccable (and we are picky foodies). If you are looking to impress someone or enjoy a special occasion this is the place to go!
Phenomenal experience. Will definetly come back. The Sommelier, Lina, was AMAZING!!!
The Perfect Manhattan wasn’t. They implied that the cheese course was included in the prix fix, it wasn’t- $8.00 per choice. Very expensive for an ok meal.
Traveling on business and decided to check this place out based on reviews. All I have to say is that this place is absolutely amazing. Probably the best meal I have ever had! 😀
Our company attends the Natural Products show at the Baltimore Convention Center each year and our group looks forward to our dinner at Charleston every year. It is my favorite restaurant ever and Chef Cindy Wolf and her team are amazing. When you go to Baltimore you must dine at Charleston. It is a wonderful culinary experience.
Fixed price menu where you pick from the entire menu selection for each course. Everything was prepared exquisitely. Excellent.
An extraordinary experience from beginning to end. The valet parking was painless, the service and ambience were impeccable, and the food and wine pairings were Michelin-level extraordinary. The Inn at Little Washington remains our favorite out-of-body dining experience, but Charleston is not just a very, very close second; but is at least two hours nearer to our home in Anne Arundel County. We'll absolutely be back!
Charleston is the best restaurant in Baltimore in my opinion. Very expensive but worth it. My wife and I came here for the first time last year and have been back several times since then. All of the food is top notch, I would listen to any staff recommendations because a lot of my favorite dishes were items I would not gravitate toward had it not been brought up. Must get the lobster soup if it’s your first time and if they’re available try the duck with foi gras and the sable tart
We went to Charleston for a birthday dinner and the food was amazing. We tried to do the 6 course tasting menu but the portion sizes were substantial, so we had to change it to 4 course. All tasting menus include a dessert. Lobster soup was by far my favorite thing on the menu but everything was delicious. The fois Gras was really good as well but the duck was a little tough. Next time we will do only 3-4 courses. Service was impeccable.
We were celebrating milestone birthdays and enjoyed the 5 course dinner with wine pairings. What a perfect way to celebrate! Definitely worth the cost for such a special experience.
Impeccable service. Food was hit (buffalo tenderloin, grilled quail) or miss (crab cake, shrimp & grits). The lobster soup was amazing! The chocolate pot de creme was a delightful way to end the meal. Request a seat near the open kitchen to watch the carefully choreographed action.
