excellent food and great experience. Fish offering was excellent. Great selection of Portuguese wine
One of the best meals we’ve both had in a long time! Great overall and service was terrific!
Amazing Portuguese fine dining!!! Everyone in our group was impressed. Amazing fresh fish and a great menu. Discovered some great Portuguese wines, white and red! Overall a perfect evening! Will return!
As always, service is excellent! starting from reservation to the end of evening.
This time I found food was not with the high standard I am used to. Service was excellent. My family really enjoyed it!
Will definitely recommend it in the future.
Perfectly executed meal, I cannot wait to return. The Fish display and selection was beautiful.
Outstanding food and service
A little pricey but the food is reflected in the pricing
Fantastic service and a wonderful menu. If you are looking for an authentic, upscale Portuguese dinning experience, Chiado is the place to go.
heartily recommend the piri piri monkfish and the fish stew-- both were outstanding. The white chocolate flan and the chocolate mousse delicious. Attentive, observant and knowledgeable waitstaff were available just exactly the right amount. it was a delightful experience!
This place deserves the great ratings.
It checks all the boxes.
Service is terrific (Never had to touch the wine decanter. Our glasses were topped up all night)
The food was outstanding.
Grilled octopus was great
Sardines were ok (This was our least favorite)
Had a whole fish and a filet. Both were fabulous.
Nice filet portion.
The wine was excellent.
This is a really great choice and definitely was a good choice to celebrate my birthday!
The food was pretty good but lacked creativity/uniqueness. My carpaccio starter was excellent, but the other starters and mains ordered by my friends were good but fairly simple. I was expecting something more outstanding for the price.
Best seafood i had in many years. Excellent fresh quality and amazing service. Will visit again for sure
We are occasionally going there for dinner, at least once a year. We love the environment and foods.
Chiado is as good as it ever has been -- everything is done just right.
Attentive but not obsequies service. Knowledgable staff. Phenomenal Portuguese wine list. The fresh seafoods were a great value. Not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. Planning next trip!
Love it! Excellent foods and service! Will back again for sure!
Have been coming yearly for our anniversary dinner for the last five years. And in those five years it has retained. Its excellence in fine dining. The wait staff are knowledgeable and conduct themselves with a professional flair that that is seldom seen in other restaurants that claim to be fine dining. The menu is exquisite and well worth every cent. This is not the place you come to just eat. This is where you dine.
If you want amazing fish and great service, Chiado is our favorite place
We were there for a birthday. We loved the food the service was first class. Has become our favourite restaurant in the city.
We were impressed by menu. Excellent fish selection. Good explanation on fish and how they will be prepared
Very impressed by the service and the food. However, the prices were quite a bit more than I expected. With entry level wine at $50 plus, it sort of set the pace. My guests were very satisfied with their food. I chose a specialty fish that was brought to the table by the Maitre d'. At no time did he mention the price and its my fault, I should have asked, however I did not expect it to be $65 for about 4-5 ounces of fish no matter how good it was. We had a great overall experience and would recommend the restaurant however, this fine dinning establishment does have its price.
A very welcoming restaurant with very attentive waiters. The food and wine were sublime. Tables are well spaced so you don’t hear other people’s conversation. Very cosy . A great atmosphere with outstanding fish dishes
Excellent authentic Portuguese restaurant. The manager owner welcomes guests very nicely and the waiters and waitresses are charming, very courteous and efficient. The fish selection (catch of the day) is impressive and delicious and the Portuguese wines choice is great also. I recommend Chiado without hesitation
Amazing restaurant and staff. Food was spectacular...!!!
Outstanding seafood! The octopus is so buttery. Outstanding wine selection, huge selection of Portuguese wines that pair well the the food. And the service is great, just ask waiters for recommendations and you can’t go wrong!
My wife and I visited Chaido after a Momma Mia matinee performance. I had heard great things about this restaurant and I was very impressed. Truly a fine dining experience! It is not cheap but the freshness and quality of the ingredients and the attentive service...incredible! Will definitely return! Cheers,
Celebrated a special birthday; it could not have been a more perfect choice for a memorable dinner.
AMAZING! Everything was delicious. The staff was helpful, energetic and professional. Worth a visit!
Excellent meal, kind, patient attentive staff. Highly recommend
Food excellent. Service prompt without hurry. Menu expansive in options but not overwhelming. Wine list basic and satisfying. Prices consistent with quality.
Chiado was one of my wife and I's best dining experiences. Our waiter was a professional at the top of his craft, in keeping with the European tradition of service being a serious profession. The food was exquisite!
A wonderful evening of fine dining! We had dinner here last year and will make it again next year. A remarkable experience for our annual visit to Toronto. Food choices were excellent and all beautifully presented. Not too much food and yet not too mean- just the right volume!
Outstanding food/quality and top notch service. Lovely decor/ambiance. Pricey - about $300 for two with wine.
Outstanding food and service!
I have always loved Chiado. So much so that I invited friends to join our Anniversary dinner.
The food was as always fantastic. Lots of interesting flavours, lots of amazing fish choices etc....
Here's the very big DISAPOINTMENT. Is when the bill came to us. We found that there was another bottle of wine added to our bill.
My friends that were with us. Said that they were super disappointed. That they are finding this happening in TO a lot. The very last thing I expected that it would happen to us at CHIADO!
He did not want to give tip at all. But, he didn't want to ruin our anniversary. Please fix this and fast!
It kind of ruined everything else that was great up to that moment. Too bad!
It will become our GO TO restaurant for any special occasion. Simply put: Fantastic.
I’ve heard raving review about Chiado so came here with my girlfriend for Summerlicious.
The Appetizers were fresh and flavourful but can’t say the same for our mains.
The dishes were executed perfectly ( duck confit had nice crispy skin / octopus was tender) but lacked flavour.
Our dessert had some stale meringue pieces and overall was not well put together. As for service the Staff is very warm and attentive so we definitely appreciated that!
We were an international, sophisticated group of foodies from out of town and loved the restaurant.
Food was excellent but a little too small on the portions (although we were full) at the end. My only issue was that we ordered coffee with cream and sweetner and when it came they gave us milk. I cannot drink coffee with milk and I guess I must have made a "facial expression" because someone came over to me to ask "what can I do for you ?" without me signalling to our waiter (it might have been the owner) ... I said that I had asked for cream and the answer came back "I am sorry but that is all we have" and walked away. I wanted to say "then please take this back" but he left very abruptly and I ended up drinking my coffee with the milk (because I knew they make their coffee individually and it was more than $4 for just the 1 cup). I did end up having digestive issues later on. The point is that they should have told me before they made the coffee that they only had milk when I specifically asked for cream ......
My experience before was excellent, but this time around we were both disappointed. It's not that the food was terrible ... it just underwhelmed. Very average food from an above average place like Chiado.
