   Great Menu. A little dark inside but cozy. Found the booths a bit tight to get in and out of. Food tasted amazing. Service could have been a bit more attentive as far as refilling water glasses but very positive and professional server.

   Overall our meals were good but was quite surprised that my large order Prime Rib dinner had about 5 or 6+ ounces of pure fat as part of meat cut piece. I suggested to the waiter that the 'large' size order (they offer two sizes) was actually a 'regular' sized order then. He said "that is what people like and know that when they order their prime rib, the fat is like butter, people like that". I told him not for me, I like having meat not fat. It was certainly news to me about the amount of fat on their prime rib cuts (an probably would have ordered a steak then); I certainly cut off the fat on a prime rib/steak, I'm sure most others do the same. And that was it, got no other response from the waiter.

   Poor service and server was not attentive at all. Smoked old fashioned arrived with ice melted and smoke was already all gone even when the top was covered by cedar wood. Never had this happened before so the drink must have sat at the bar for a while. Steak was also over cooked. Server did not check on us until the steak was half done, which at that point was pointless. Towards the latter part of the dinner, server pretty much disappeared.

   The server was very friendly and attentive. He refilled our water timely and even remembered my friend who came recently. Great experience. Food was ok overall, for the price it’s worthy after all. Will recommend.

    Good flavours, I enjoyed my flat iron steak, delicious dessert sampler not too sweet it’s perfect. However, the prime rib was way too fatty and a better horse radish brand would be nice. I could have rate it as a 5, then again it’s all about the small details - our dessert was forgotten! Still will recommend

    Celebrated a birthday of 2 friends, our server was very attentive! The french onion soup has a bit of a bitter taste but the server quickly attended to our concern, he even helped us make a decision about the menu. The service here is amazing! Will definitely come back again!!

    Great little spot in Richmond that's never too busy so almost always guaranteed to get a table even without reservations. Food is great, as is the setting.

    Business dinner for the 4 of us , excellent service and very good steaks, a little heavy on the sauce overshadowed the beef which did not need the sauce to cover it up. sides quite good.

    Steak, prime rib, roasted chicken, salad, soup, and dessert were all above average. The area was not too dark but able to see our friends' faces with good atmosphere. Everything seemed to be great. Unfortunately we saw a mouse running up a few stairs steps and ran under the sofa beside our table. It was scary.

    DOV time so parking was bit challenging. Seated in a booth per our request. Minor mixing up of food delivery but can be tolerated due to high volume of patrons. Overall food was fine especially the prime rib which just melted in my month. This has been our regular and will come back again for sure.

    The 2023 dineout menu was great. We were a little disappointed with the cod since it was a little dry and the stirloin steak which came to us as a medium well steak when we asked for medium. But overall the service was nice and the food was good!

    Made a reservation for two for Dine Out and called twice to ask if a third person could be added to our reservation. Was told both times this couldn't be accommodated as it was going to be a full house that night. I understood as we'd likely be seated at a table for two. When we showed up for our reservation, we were seated at a nice booth that sat four and was disappointed that our other guest could have joined us after all. I did appreciate the email response from the General Manager acknowledging my seating request, which was for a booth. Just too bad our other guest couldn't join us as hoped. That aside, the Dine Out dinner was great. The crab cakes to start were good, the top sirloin and prime rib were both really good, albeit a little salty for the prime rib, and the cheesecake and chocolate torte were yummy, though half the size of a regular piece it seemed. Was not asked if we wanted coffee/tea before dessert so decided not to have as the dessert was already served. The rye bread and whipped brown butter we ordered was also very good. Ringo provided friendly and attentive service, and the ambiance was comfortable and social where you could still have a conversation without having to shout. A very enjoyable experience and menu prices are pretty reasonable on their own without Dine Out. The free parking was a plus.

    We truly enjoyed our visit to CHOP Steakhouse & Bar last night. We have only one complaint. We had called two days before and requested a change from 7 to 8 people in our party. We were told that we would have to be seated in a private room and pay 18% gratuity. We said this was fine. 15 minutes later we were called and told that they could not accommodate the extra guest. We were a little annoyed but accepted that as we knew it was a late request. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were seated in a private room. The 8th person could have joined us after all. We enjoyed the private room as we had a four year old with us, and service was good, but wish they would have called us and said that the extra person would be ok, so that we did not have to leave him out.

    Had the prime rib and it was thinner than a pancake. It was about 60% fat around the edges so with that thin slice there was only about 2-3 oz. of meat. The service, though polite, was terrible. They seated us with menus and brought us water and tea then didn't come back to take our order. She did come back, finally, to offer us more water/tea and we had to tell her that we wanted to order food. Then it was the same thing with the dessert, which was included with the Dine Out meal offer we had ordered. I have been here several times before. I had no complaints in the past when eating here.

    Food and ambience was good, but the waitress barely came to refill our water. Felt dehydrated for the longest time so we had to ask a different waitress for water and even then no one came to refill our water until much later. Our waitress then finally came by to filled it up. Otherwise, experience was good.

    CHOP always delivers on amazing food, service and ambiance and yesterday was no exception! I thoroughly enjoyed my Steak and Lobster, along with the Escargot Stuffed Mushrooms and ended with the Chocolate Torte. All equally delicious and well prepared.
