Date night out. Never been before. Glad we went. Service was amazing. Good food. Will definitely be back and being friends.
This was our second visit and we will return. However, I just don’t care for either the carrot or cauliflower dishes. The carrots are over cooked and oily;the roasted cauliflower struck me as a burnt offering. The meatball appetizer and pasta dishes were very good though.
The server was excellent at understanding the bourbon drink our guest desired.
Lisa and Rosario never disappoint! We ordered the chef’s special which had cocoa infused into the handmade pasta. Cocoa! And it was divine. The ravioli tastes like dessert. The wine selection is out of this world good. This is as authentic as it gets around here. Highly recommended!
Cibo Bistro will now be on my Edmonton restaurant rotation. The quality of the food and service was exceptional. We had doubts about the youngish waiter initially but were thoroughly impressed with his knowledge of the menu and attentiveness during our dining experience. The menu was a bit of a challenge for some in our party but our server was beyond patient dealing with a plethora questions. If you a looking for a quality meal with excellent service Cibo is a easy decision but be advised that there is a price to be paid for this. Overall a pleasurable experience. Looking forward to our next visit.
The appetizers were delightful (had the fried polenta with aioli and the mushroom crostini). The pasta we had as the main course was so fresh and although they seemed simple, they had these amazing flavours. I didn't want the bowl to end.
Food was excellent. Cocoa agnelotti superb as was John Dory fish special
Great food and service as always.
The food was absolutely fantastic. The Carbonara was definitely the highlight. I would go back just for another bite of that.
Girls night out
4 of us on our way to the Oilers game, great spot to have a meal and cocktails before the game. Everyone enjoyed the food and would come again and recommend it.
Clearly understaffed. Poor waiter was seating ppl, taking orders, bussing tables, pouring wine and water...pretty much everything, Because of this, everything took a LONG time. We were served the wrong pasta (which we split as an appetizer) . THere was no effort to offer any compensation for the error. Prices quite high, so overall we were disappointed. Maybe caught them on a bad night.....
Fantastic well executed food. Friendly service and great wine list and well represented Alberta craft beer. Well done Cibo!
Amazing service. Great food. We had a group of people for a birthday that were treated like gold. Have been here before and will definitely come back. Such a wonderful restaurant!!
Good restaurant and great food
It was great. Food was great and the time frame from appetizer to main course was perfectly timed.
I had my birthday dinner here and it was the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant. I had a party of 12, and was forced to split the tables into 2, with the promise that the tables would be served 5 mins apart. I agreed with that promise in mind. When we ordered the food, one table got their food promptly, while at the other table, we had to wait 1.5 hours to get our food. No one told us what was going on until one of my friends went to ask the waitress why it was taking so long. The waitress just kept saying that they were plating our food. So now we have one table all done eating, while the other table still hadn’t been served their food. When we complained to the manager, Lisa Caputo was unapologetic and kept reminding us that cibo wasn’t a fast food restaurant. Like I’m aware this isn’t McDonald’s. I’m not paying 40 dollars for an entree if I’m eating at a fast food restaurant. She then said the wait was so long because everyone ordered pasta ... at an Italian restaurant. God forbid we would order the pasta. When asked what she could do for us, Lisa reminded us again that cibo wasn’t a fast food restaurant and they couldn’t do anything for us. She offered to buy me dessert... as if that 5 dollar dessert is worth 2 hours of my time.
Despicable restaurant and the poorest customer service I’ve ever experienced. Save yourself the frustration and time and don’t come here.
We were given a Gift Certificate for this Restaurant and hadn't had a chance to go. Wow, I feel like we have been missing out. We went early at 5:00 pm for dinner before going to the Hockey game. The staff asked right away if we had other plans and made sure that we had time to enjoy our meal but not be pressed for time. Our server was amazing but other staff seemed happy to step in help bring out our dinner or remove plates or pour the wine. We will be back again with friends.
I’m always impressed at Cibo.
Had guests from out of town and they were thrilled.
Always top-tier with great menu items that are authentically Italian. Perfectly sized restaurant which ensures each meal is thoughtfully prepared. It also is a pleasure to sit and be able to converse with friends due to the volume level of the room. Such a change from the cacophony that many restaurants now seem to offer. This place is a real treat.
We enjoyed an appetizer, pasta, vegetable dish and dessert. The carrots seemed overdone and oily looking but the other foods were excellent. The server took time to explain the options which was helpful when making our choices. We will return in November with a guest.
I love this place so much. I have been going to your restaurant for years and will be going for years! Thank you always for a great experience
Rosario is an amazing chef that cooks food that tastes like it’s directly from Italy.
Lisa is a breath of fresh air with her infectious smile and food and wine knowledge. Will keep coming back over and over again
A fine place for a light supper before a downtown concert or theatre— delicious, interesting ingredients in fine dishes — humane portions! And first rate service. Not inexpensive— but good value.
Wonderful food and wine. Service was excellent as always!
Delicious food and drinks. Great service.
Cibo is a favourite of mine, for its flavours bring me a true taste of Italy. I always order the arancini which are the best in the city. Zepolle too - if I have room left after the main course. It's obvious great care is taken with the menu and with the balance of flavours. And service is attentive but not intrusive. It was the perfect venue this time, when I took a friend to say good-bye before she moves many kms away. We split an antipasto (arancini, of course), a primo (the squid pasta which was superb) and a secondo (the breast of duck - melt in your mouth delicious and complemented with kale chips). Alas no room for dessert!
The quality of food and service remains top notch! One of our favourites.
Food was excellent. Service and advice on food choices was very professional.
We had the chefs experience dinner paired with wine and it was amazing! Expensive but best meal I have had ever! Service was spot on.
Wow! Loved the food and the service was excellent. Will go again!
Us to be my favourite place
Had the tasting menu 6 times now
Amazing! That’s all I can say.
A really lovely restaurant, well done. I will definitely be back again.
I am still dreaming of the pasta and appetizers we had! Will definitely be returning soon!
We spent our anniversary dinner at Cibo, our first time to the restaurant. The food was delicious. We shared appetizers, one of which was blossoming zucchini flowers (oh so good!) the other one Arancini (rice balls), then went for pasta dishes (Corzetti Stampati & Pappardelle) and finally shared some Zeppole (doughnuts) for dessert. We went for classics and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent and friendly. I highly recommend.
Definitely not worth the price of food. Antipasto salumi was awful. Salumi is plural which indicates more than one type, however we were brought a homemade salami which more resembled and tasted like pepperoni. So spicy it was not palatable.
Pasta was good, sauce very heavy however. The steak was not great, quite tough and fatty.
The salad is definitely not Panzanella as it claims. It was a very sad version of a great Tuscan recipe.
Given we are authentic Italian born and raised in Italy, this restaurant is definitely NOT authentic Italian at all and seriously overpriced for the quality. Twice eaten here and never to return!
Food was fantastic. Server was awesome! 5 stars overall
Excellent location and excellent food. Highly recommend the restaurant to friends and family!
As always Cibo is one of the best dining experiences anywhere, not it’s Edmonton. Rosario has an incredible attention to detail and marrying seasonal flavors. Lisa and the rest of the front of house team and gracious and welcoming hosts. Cibo è un vero ristorante italiano che sarà sicuramente apprezzato da chiunque abbia viaggiato in Italia.
