Our server was fantastic! And food was delicious:) Excellent dining experience and highly recommend.
Great service, this was my first time here and we loved it. Came for dine out but want to come back another time for the regular menu.
Very delicious food at a very reasonable price!!! Would definitely return.
Fornasetti Wall Plates！！！！！
Best spaghetti vongole we ever had. Lots of garlic. Limited veg options.
Having dinner at Cibo on New Year's Eve was a very very bad decision. I made a reservation for 2 at 9 pm. We arrived at 9:10 and a gentleman warmly welcomed us and seated us. It was a 6 course menu at $98 per person.
By 10:45, we were only served 4 courses. The wait time between the courses was far to long, especially that the restaurant wasn't busy. We ordered drinks as soon as we came in and we only got them after the first course, bread, which took 25 mins to come.
At 10:45 I very politely asked the server if possible to reduce the wait time between courses as we have a place to be at later. They sent the prawns course and 2 mins later, not being done with the prawns, the gentleman served us the veal dish out saying 'Since you guys asked the food to be rushed, here you go'. I genuinely replied 'Thank you very much' and got a sarcastic 'you're welcome very much' reply from him.
Later, when I was done with the prawn dish and the table was crammed, I reached out to put my empty side plate on the empty shared plate then the server aggressively snatched it from my hand and loudly started clearing the table smashing plates together. Incredibly disrespectful. The server was very passive aggressive. Before even getting a taste of the veal and the dessert, I asked the bill because I had enough at this point. When I was paying he remarked 'not a fan of the veal eh?'. Again very disrespectful and his actions were very unwarranted.
I will never ever come back here again. The 6 course dinner was per person but instead of getting us our main courses on on separate plates, we got them in shared plates.
Overall, a shame for a very nicely decorated restaurant to be ruined by a terrible, rude and passive aggressive service.
Food lacked flavor. Place was empty and they were missing alot of items on the menu.
Out with friends and wanted a great drinks menu (cocktails & wine) to go with good Italian food
Christmas Eve dinner
We are from Ottawa and had our Christmas eve dinner at the restaurant, which was a 7 course fish/seafood menu. It was absolutely fantastic. Each course was carefully prepared and delicious and just the right amount of food. The house made focaccia was amazing. Our 13 year old son enjoyed the make your own non alcoholic cocktails, an interesting idea of having the customer choose 3 adjectives, from which the bartender would design a cocktail. I had the wine pairing with dinner and each pairing was perfectly matched with some unique selections as well. The service was wonderful; our server was genuinely nice and fun to be around. Thank you for making our Christmas eve in Vancouver so enjoyable.
It was cold outside and we kicked off the weekend with brunch at Cibo. We had the traditional all day breakfast (pork sausage stuffed with apples) and salmon lox. The menu is bit different than listed on OpenTable but overall quality / presentation was well done. Service was attentive and the warm crackling fireplace set up the holiday mood. It’s quaint restaurant with Italian influences hence the brunch menu offerings are not the usual standby but we’ve been here twice and enjoyed it!
A cozy place with decent food. Went on a Sunday night for family dinner and it wasn't busy, perfect for us. Waitress's service is way above Canadian standard which is awesome and difficult to come by. Food taste good in general, some were great value but I wish they had used better ingredients in one of the dish that we ordered though it doesn't taste bad. Will definitely come again!
Colin was an amazing server and the maître d made a great wine suggestion. It was a lovely evening and we would highly recommend sitting at the bar!
Our food was good, but I found the menu to be small. Nothing really appealed to me, so I picked the only thing that I didn't mind. The restaurant was horribly noisy ..... my husband and I had to almost yell across the table to converse. Our server was lovely, very competent and attentive, however it was so loud on the place that we couldn't hear her either. We will not go again.
Lovely spot for lunch. Food is terrific. Service is warm and prompt. Beautiful fireplace which emits warmth and is welcoming.
The lady server was very nice, helpful with the menu and sweet. But the man was indifferent and stressfull.
Enjoyed our dining experience at this restaurant. We will definitely come back.
Very eclectic setting, but amazingly good food & service. Not your standard Italian fare but with much more imagination. Well within walking of most West End hotels. If you are looking for something different, relax here & enjoy.
I enjoy dinner at this restaurant more. Went there for brunch and some food are just taken directly from the fridge without any effort (cheese plate and a pre boiled egg).... meatball is super small and is nothing like a traditional Italian meatball... this feels like taking some frozen food and reheat to serve. I am expecting a bit more effort from a great italian restaurant in the neighbourhood, especially when they are charged in range of 18 dollars per plate. Of course, if their main target is the tourists, I have no problem and that’s their business model.
The menu had next to no options. Especially if you are looking for a traditional Italian meal. This is nothing like that. Good option if you want a $20 cocktail. Service was good but that was about it.
Excellent food, attentive staff and great location.
Really loved the venue - the food - the vine - but the server had a bad day and did not hide it very well, was outright rude and very judgemental ... our host was a darling though!
The food, service and the environment was great but the menu selection is very limited.
We have passed by before and thought we would give Cibo a try..we were pleased the meal was excellent although the portions we smaller than we expected but not tiny...the staff was attentive but not bothersome...we found the restaurant to be quite loud for such a small establishment...overall an excellent meal
Food was very good. Service was excellent, very friendly and polite servers. Neighbor at the next table, talked too much and too loud. Really annoying.
What happy treat! Beautiful environment, good food and prompt delivery. I think the server was new--said the entree was chicken, other items incorrect, too; but, she was very pleasant. We thank you!
The servers are inexperienced and shouldn’t be working in this restaurant or lounge. I would not recommend this restaurant or UVA to others. I was extremely disappoint as I have been going to this restaurant and lounge for years.
Server was professional; helpful with the menu and wine pairings, efficient and attentive without being overbearing. Food was tasty , well presented and arrived in a timely fashion (we were going to a concert after dinner and were on a tight timeline). The food and service, combined with the restaurant's ambience, made for an enjoyable dining experience.
This is a restaurant that we have been to a number of times over the years and normally enjoyed. However, our recent meal was not only disappointing but frustrating. We waited more than an hour for our appetizers, which we only received after we complained. We were not the only table to do so. After our complaint the starters magically appeared, missing many of the ingredients listed. They lacked dressing, seasoning and some of the other main ingredients. Mains came quickly but were also bland and the pasta was disappointing. For an Italian restaurant, the so called orecchiette, which in previous years we raved about, seemed formed by a culinary student and looked and tasted more liked a silver dollar pancake than pasta. I can only say, sadly, give it a miss. The only redeeming part of the evening was the waitress that tried her best...
The recommendations for pasta and desserts by the host were excellent choices. I will come back again.
Not a good experience:
Beautiful space design!
Food was ok, not worth the price for me personally. Some interesting flavours, not in a good way. One pasta dish was quite nice though.
Service wasn’t good. Even though we came at a quiet time, the server wanted us out the door quickly. Quite surprisingly! Was quite rushed throughout the night and in the end brought us our bill as we were still having our desert
Super fresh and delicious food
Service is great and waitress is friendly and knows Italian good 😊
Good food, and good service, a bit quiet for Thursday night.
Fresh, clean, creative menu items. I so loved the mixed greens salad with a light, tasty, dressing. The tuna appetizer was divine. Such a perfect meal. Friendly service and easy access from our hotel.
Excellent food and service
Amazing time!! The restaurant was pretty quiet when we got there but that made the experience so much better. The hostess was so hospitable and really helped us with our choices, and even shared some personal parts about her which made the experience feel so much more homey. Would highly recommend!!
The food was amazing! I’m so glad my husband took us there for our anniversary. We will definitely be back!!!
Was the absolutely worst brunch we have ever had. The staff were not engaged and we had to ask for everything including more water. We had the salad which was over dressed and too acidic, the salmon eggs benedict was extremely greasy and the potatoes were burnt, the spaghetti carbonara was drenched in sauce that actually lacked any seasoning.
The waitresses were always at the back and the service was slow. There were only two tables with customers including us so there was no excuse for the lack of service. Will never be coming back and will never recommend this place to anyone.
I feel the food is pricy. For $16 Scallop dish, I can not FIND the scallop at all until I dig to the bottom of the plate...... I think it is half of a big scallop sliced into 8 pieces.....
Small menu of food choice and cooking tended to be greasy, my friend and I had stomach pain after the meal. Pasta was too soft, not al dente! Portion was small considered the price. Service tips fixed at 20% surprised me since the service standard, decor, and restroom facility were not up to this overall high standard. Restroom was messy and the ladies' vent was out of order and the restroom was smelly. Dishes served quick but the table was too small to put 2 main dishes, 2 glasses of water and bread with butter. Visited higher standard restaurants before and Cibo was not impressed me.
