The recommendations for pasta and desserts by the host were excellent choices. I will come back again.
Super fresh and delicious food
Service is great and waitress is friendly and knows Italian good 😊
Good food, and good service, a bit quiet for Thursday night.
Fresh, clean, creative menu items. I so loved the mixed greens salad with a light, tasty, dressing. The tuna appetizer was divine. Such a perfect meal. Friendly service and easy access from our hotel.
Excellent food and service
Amazing time!! The restaurant was pretty quiet when we got there but that made the experience so much better. The hostess was so hospitable and really helped us with our choices, and even shared some personal parts about her which made the experience feel so much more homey. Would highly recommend!!
The food was amazing! I’m so glad my husband took us there for our anniversary. We will definitely be back!!!
Was the absolutely worst brunch we have ever had. The staff were not engaged and we had to ask for everything including more water. We had the salad which was over dressed and too acidic, the salmon eggs benedict was extremely greasy and the potatoes were burnt, the spaghetti carbonara was drenched in sauce that actually lacked any seasoning.
The waitresses were always at the back and the service was slow. There were only two tables with customers including us so there was no excuse for the lack of service. Will never be coming back and will never recommend this place to anyone.
I feel the food is pricy. For $16 Scallop dish, I can not FIND the scallop at all until I dig to the bottom of the plate...... I think it is half of a big scallop sliced into 8 pieces.....
Small menu of food choice and cooking tended to be greasy, my friend and I had stomach pain after the meal. Pasta was too soft, not al dente! Portion was small considered the price. Service tips fixed at 20% surprised me since the service standard, decor, and restroom facility were not up to this overall high standard. Restroom was messy and the ladies' vent was out of order and the restroom was smelly. Dishes served quick but the table was too small to put 2 main dishes, 2 glasses of water and bread with butter. Visited higher standard restaurants before and Cibo was not impressed me.
Despite some negative reviews, I gave it a try and was pleased.
Good food, great service, though I was about the only one there.
Stopped by for a pre-show dinner. Spectacular food at a good price.
Food is mediocre for the price. Wine selection is huge, but most of the wines are much more expensive than the food deserves. Not memorable at all.
Apparently short staffed so our appetizer took 1 1/2 hours to arrive. We reserved for 5:30, needing to leave by 7:30 we barely got our dinner eaten. Dessert was served at the table while we were still eating the main course. Drinks took 30-40 minutes. Had to call the waitress over repeatedly for service. We ended cancelling a drink because it never arrived. We also notices the other people in the restaurant seemed to be having the same experience as us. Disappointing.
Service was prompt, courteous, efficient and the food was excellent.
Food was was on time and well prepared.
Food at brunch is boring and poorly prepared. Service is lacklustre.
food and service were good but very slow. was over an hour between our appetizer (focaccia) and our mains.
“Cibo” is so convenient when we go to the Orpheum Theatre, as when we went for an early dinner before the opera! It was quiet with great service. We enjoyed a great wine from the list & the Opera set menu option which is a great deal! Definitely recommend this restaurant. My only observation- the butternut squash ravioli are so good, I was sad not to see it on menu this time but so many wonderful alternate options.
The pastas are really delicious, good portions and good value! Highly recommend coming here!
We arrived to find our table set up and ready for us. The waiter was great and very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. The food was outstanding and the service was great. Everything about this restaurant was most enjoyable including the choice of music playing in the background. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will certainly patronize it again in the future.
We really enjoyed the restaurant, my only comment is that the portion size of the dishes was very small, even for four "old" ladies, and the price was expensive for such small dishes. I would never take a man to eat there.
An early dinner prior to an Orpheum concert and also a Birthday celebration, where the waiter and waiting staff were conscious of and put fine efforts into making it happen in a timely way.
The food was tasty and portions perfect. We, two ordered a salad and an appetizer, as our dinner and shared a yummy dessert.
All good! We will go back and recommend Cibo to friends. Keep up the fine standard.
The food was good - the bison was actually the best I've had, but the portions (especially the appetizers) were small - the check was not :)
My friend and I enjoyed a pre- Orpheum dinner and as always, Cibo did not disappoint. The restaurant was introducing a new menu so both my friend and I order to appetizers for our dinner along with a carafe of wine. Everything was excellent. Cibo is out go to place for pre-theater meals.
The bolognese sauce was tasteless and had barely a teaspoon of Parmesan on the top. It needed tomato sauce and seasonings.
I hold Open Table responsible for offering a good review for such a terrible place. The food was awful - cold, sticky pasta. The restaurant was empty and stayed mostly empty the whole time - I wonder why? It was terribly embarrassing for me, especially when my client agreed how awful it was. You should be ashamed to recommend such a place and to give it the rating you have. It makes me re-think Open Table.
Went for a casual dinner. Found the food not amazing, personally, Compared to other Italian restaurants
My wife and I just celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary with a special dinner at Cibo Trattoria. We had a nice, private table and we were able to have easy conversation at normal levels. Our server was excellent, very friendly and courteous. Great wine list, so much to choose from. The food was amazing, from the fresh soup of the day to the chicken with goat cheese meals we both enjoyed (best Brussel Sprouts I've ever had). A wonderful Tiramisu dessert and the tastiest Americano capped a great dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Portion sizes were small, price too high, limited menu selection
LOVED LOVED LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE. THE FOOD (LARGE PORTIONS PRESENTED BEAUTIFULLY), THE SERVICE (EFFICIENT BUT UNOBTRUSIVE) THE AMBIENCE (IT IS QUAINT AND BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED, REALLY ENJOYED THE CHOICE OF BACKGROUND MUSIC).
LOOKING FORWARD TO A RETURN VISIT!
Went for brunch and the food was only ok. I might come back to try for dinner and drinks since they are rated well, but I wasn’t impressed this time around.
Good food; different preparations; ran out of soup at 6:15 ; no menu items that are particularly child friendly but tried to accommodate special needs. Very helpful serving staff.
Enjoyed a wonderful pre concert menu with delicious choices that were beautifully presented. Service was extraordinary. I'm never disappointed at Cibo.
Good food, small portions... service was just okay, yet I would go again.
Lovely place but please make note the restaurant closes at 2pm sharp.
Cibo was a real find! Service excellent, atmosphere cozy and quite quiet with only 16 tables, food was fantastic! Highly recommended...
Absolutely one of the worst dining experiences of any Vancouver restaurants in the past year
We had good service and excellent good at a fair price
Will go again
Wow .. absolutely delicious . I had the 3 course meal and holy cow it was unreal . Not to mention the amazing service and ambiance .
- gnocchetti was great
- stuffed chicken was not that great with the tomato sauce
- pasta with clams pretty bland
- seafood soup was tiny and tomato-y
- interesting twist on tiramisu with a orange flavour (I liked it and I disliked it at the same time), the chocolate chunks in it were great
