Great restaurant. My friend and I booked this place last minute before a Sunday evening show and we sat at the bar. Fantastic service and food. Great atmosphere and environment. I'd definitely return.
Went for Dineout festival with a group of friends. The choices of meals for the 3 courses were all really interesting, and clearly they had something for everybody. The panna cotta was to-die for, and really made trumped the previous entree and appetizer. Really nice experience and value for the Dineout was well worth it.
High quality all around; food, service and ambience.
We went to Cibo for the first time during Dine Out Vancouver. It’s a nicely appointed, cozy restaurant well situated downtown. We were greeted warmly and had a fantastic meal. The food and wine were wonderful, service was friendly and excellent, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of the experience. Would happily recommend eating here!
We had a late reservation after a long day. We have always liked the restaurant but it was quieter than we expected because it is part of Dine Out. That was just fine by us. There was clearly not enough communication from the kitchen because one choice of appetizer and one of dessert were not available. That said, the duck main course was superb and the substitued tiramisu was one of the best. We will return at some point. Adding some more modestly priced wines to the list would be useful.
Portions were small, at Dine Out, which was not a problem, given that we are not big eaters. My dessert, the Chocolate Nemesis, was amazingly good!
We went here before going to see the symphony across the street. It was the week of Dine Out Vancouver, so we got in on that, and it was great! Would definitely go back.
Really good meal! Our server was outstanding. Very helpful and attentive
The experience we got was horrible! My family got sick from the food. The server was very rude when we said that the glass was not clean, he showed an attitude toward us. Even though the glass was so dusty. The pasta was even cold when it came and it had no flavor. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!
The menu was quite limited, the portion sizes were small for the price.
Christmas Day lunch. Absolutely delicious!
My wife and I went there for a nice lunch on Christmas Day. Great service, excellent food, warm ambience. We’ll go there again for sure.
Very good spot! Amazing food & friendly staff. Nice and cozy restaurant, especially by the fireplace.
Absolutely one of my now favourite restaurants. Excellent value, delicious food all with a quaint ambiance.
Went there for Sunday Brunch while Downtown. It was quiet, so we got quick service. We chose the Pacific Breakfast, which hit the spot nicely. Refreshing, light, and just the thing to fill us for an afternoon out in the chill. Will go back again.
This small restaurant serves excellent food and provides fabulous service. We regularly visit Cibo when attending events at the Orpheum. They have something for everyone. The sea bass is cooked to perfection and served with a chick pea base. You cannot go wrong with the excellent pasta - the vongole is served with good sized clams. We will be back.
Booked this restaurant for a Christmas get together with family. Service was great. Server asked right away if we needed to get out to attend the symphony as this restaurant offers a good option for those wishing to do dinner and that event. We were not going but appreciated the concern. Food menu is limited but what we had was good. They even offer Gluten Free choices. They have a great sommelier who helped us select wine to match our dinners. We had a wonderful time here and the service was part of the experience. We had decided to go out for an after dinner drink but ended returning to this restaurant just for drinks.
The Three of us had excellent service -- lunch time reservation before the Symphony. From the moment I walked in and needed to wait 15 minutes before friends arrived --- hot mint tea was delicious, to my beet salad with the chickpea triangles that are amazing. A very pleasant lunch, will definitely return. I have been to your restaurant a umber of times, and never have had a negative experience. May thanks, Happy Holidays, merry Christmas
disorganized and slow; wine expensive for 5 oz glasses - not 6 or 9 but priced like it for same brands elsewhere; after serious problems getting the computer to produce the bill and consequential long delay there was a material overcharge on it. No accommodation for delay and no embarrassment at the overcharge. Very amateur and disappointing. Perhaps was expecting higher quality based on reviews.
Hanger steak salad was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Good value for $21. Arrancini serving was small and lukewarm when served. Consider refining or removing from the menu. Limited lunch menu, may attract more guests with a slightly expanded menu. Service was great - water was refilled 3x automatically, never below one-quarter. Well done!
Went for my friends 50th birthday. Restaurant has relaxing atmosphere, not too loud, small and intimate, attentive service and they gave my friend a Gia’s of sparkling Rose for her birthday!
Really good time and the staff on duty we were on point.
Lunch menu is very small but the pasta dishes we ordered were perfectly cooked. Very good dish
This was a bit of a guess, but I booked it based on reviews. The meals were very tasty and portions were well sized, but the Tiramisu was probably the best I've ever tasted! All the flavours were very well balanced and textures were so smooth. I've already recommended to my Vancouver friends.
Good Italian food
Friendly efficient and attentive service
Eaten there about 3 times and it’s consistent 👍🏽
It's a great place to have a good conversations over the dinner table. Staff was helpful and very nice. Food was great. Would recommend to friends.
Service was really great but I strongly recommend to revamp on kitchen staff. Food is below standard as I think I can cook better than this.
Great atmosphere and fresh food. Come here often and am never disappointed.
Pre-symphony dinner. Although restaurant was packed, service was friendly and for the most part efficient. It’s always challenging when everyone arrives at the same time and needs to leave at the same time. But we were served with plenty of time to spare. Cauliflower “schnitzel” was great — very clever and tasty. Starters were delicious and beautifully presented as well. I would definitely recommend Cibo — for the food and the service.
Cibo is delicious fresh Italian cuisine in a rustic setting... grab a table outside under the trees and be transported to Italy. The lunch menu is small but everything including the pizza is delicious!
Dinner opens up options for homemade pasta which is not an option at lunch.
The waitstaff is knowledgeable and friendly regarding Italian wines and extremely accommodating, thank you Naomi!! I wanted a meatball but not the sandwich and they were more than happy to accommodate the request.
Save room for the homemade crepes and enjoy Cibo!!
Great restaurant, went here for my anniversary and the staff were super lovely! Best tiramisu ever. Would highly recommend to anyone.
It was a lovely setting. We felt comfortable and the service was just right. Attentive but not in your face.
Pre theatre dining
I was very disappointed as I had read reviews of 5 stars for this restaurant so I thought the food must be good. It wasn’t. I had the chicken and it was pretty much tasteless. My friend had the beef which looked good but didn’t meet the expected taste. It’s a very small place and we were crammed in a tiny table for two. Too noisy as well. The service was very good but I won’t go back to a restaurant for service alone. With a good tip (ambience and food not the servers fault) we paid over $170 for dinner, one appetizer and one bread and wine for two. Not going back.
Hidden little gem in downtown. Great food and lovely spot.
Service excellent, food top quality, 5 oz wine chintzy. It should be the standard 6 oz, charge a couple bucks more but can the 5oz which smacks of a ripoff
One of my favorite restaurants to visit when I am in Vancouver. The prefect place for a group where being able to hold a conversation is important. Quiet with outstanding service, great cocktails, and wonderful food.
The really great thing about this restaurant: it's close to the Orpheum, and is really the only upscale restaurant that is. We, like most of the other diners it seemed, were there for that reason.
The tables are pretty close together.
Our server seemed nice, but we would have enjoyed seeing him more frequently.
The "souffle" appetizer was an extraordinary shade of green, but not particularly tasty.
The chickpea crepe appetizer was enjoyable, but both of us who had it thought the prawns were more "aromatic" than we would have liked.
When you substitute spaghetti for tagliatelle, it would be polite to at least mention that to customers that order that dish.
The wine list is very good.
Food was sooooooo good! We basically love each dish that we had: the bread, prosciutto, duck breast was sooooo good & so does the sea bass.
Dessert was great as well! I had the first panna cotta that I actually like (never really liked one before). The chocolate nemesis was very smooth. & not to mention, the tiramisu’s mascarpone cheese was full of flavour~
The service was very polite and caring. My family had a really pleasant night and will definitely return.
We celebrated our 30th Anniversary with our kids and partners this weekend. Cibo was wonderful. The flavours and combination of food were fantastic as was the wine. The staff were attentive and lovely.
