I ordered the half chicken. Only half the order came to the table. What happened?
Very modern and clean ambience.
Spaghetti alle Vongole : Good
Bistecca : Taste good but too expensive for just a few pieces
Branzino (Sea Bass) : Wonderful !
The steak was very good. However it was over priced for six bites. My girlfriend got the spaghetti and meatballs and the sauce was ragu from a can. Over all not impressed with the food or the price for the sub par food
I really enjoyed my time here! There was 3 of us for after work drinks. The ambience/food/drink was great, but what made it really amazing was the service! They got me a great table, were able to open the window to the street and were super nice/helpful/professional without helicoptering around you if you know what I mean? 10/10 would return.
Outstanding Italian food. Excellent service. Jacqueline the server made our night. Thank you
We had a very disappointing dining experience and do not recommend this restaurant.
My husband and I had a dinner reservation before a concert at the Orpheum. We chose the Orpheum set menu and were assured by our server that we would have plenty of time to enjoy our dinner before having to leave for our concert. After fifteen minutes, our wine had not arrived. The waitress told us that it was her first shift, and the restaurant was full, so we were understanding. Our first course arrived--great meatballs and mediocre salad. We waited another half an hour and our main courses had not arrived. The server said it was not her fault and was unapologetic. There was no manager to assist, merely another waiter who came over and said he'd have to take it up with the manager later. Another table was also complaining that they would have to leave without eating. A very unacceptable beginning to our evening out, and we left hungry and disappointed.
Food was okay but service was way too slow. Been there years ago but it was actually much better back then. Very disappointed.
The food and service were spectacular but do give yourself some time. This is finer dining and not fast food. If you are catching a show, allow yourself two hours. Well worth the wait!
Lovely place with great food, enjoyed the proximity to a really fun bar
Quiet setting with good food and wine conveniently located close to the Orpheum.
Hello, thank you for the lovely review, yes we are located just across the road! If you like Cibo you will love are sister bar next door, UVA its a hot spot after the Orpheum, and a great way to end the night. We hope to see you again soon.
Great food and service
I Went for an early dinner with a friend. The server was very friendly. We shared the chickpea crepe stuffed with calamari, the meatballs and the gnocchi with asparagus in a butter sauce. I found the calamari a little chewy, but the meatballs were melt in your mouth delicious. The gnocchi was also excellent. We also shared a half litre of an Italian merlot which was very nice. All and all a great dinner.
This cosy restaurant has a lovely ambience. We were there on a Wednesday evening before seeing a show. We were able to converse easily and were seated comfortably. The menu had a good variety of foods, we four each chose a different item and were pleased with our dinners. The service was perfect, attentive but not overbearing. We will definitely choose this restaurant in the future.
Service was very poor and amateurish. There is a limited menu and the server could not answer basic questions on ingredients, saying she was “new”. Some basic training could have helped. Worse the wine glasses were brought to the table by the server holding the bowls not the stems. Same issue when she poured the wine- she held the bowl like pouring a beer. In a wine centric restaurant this is simply inexcusable.
Mind it was a Tuesday morning, but the place was completely under staffed. They only had one waitress who was also acting as the hostess and runner. Plus judging by the fact that it took 45 minutes for a breakfast sandwich and a egg/meat dish there was only one cook. Terrible situation for both the staff and the customers.
Thank you for your email regarding your experience. First and foremost we would like to apologize that we let you down with our service. We understand this does not offer a good impression. We do our best to provide the highest levels of customer service to each guest in all our venues, and customer feedback is how we improve. Many guests will not say anything at all, opting instead to stop visiting an establishment altogether. Thank you and we are going to do better.
The food was blah and the service was blah. The focaccia was blah. Would not recommend.
Everything about the experience was wonderful! The cocktails, food, and dessert were some of the best we’ve had in Vancouver. My wife can not eat gluten and they worked with her to adapt a dish to have a fantastic gluten-free pasta dish.
Hi, Thank you so much for the kind words I am happy to hear that it is some of the best food, cocktails and desserts in Vancouver. I will be sure to pass it on your our staff. Hope to see you again so you and your wife can try even more dishes!!
It’s not really authentic Italian cuisine, but I loved the food regardless. I took meatballs as appetizer and sea bass as main.
Both dishes were really good, I was just surprised that fish came with a hefty portion of chickpeas , which I never saw in Italy, and I didn’t really care for. Service was good, not over the top and not overly sugary-sweet, which I liked. It was pretty quiet so we all could talk without screaming and trying to talk over other screaming guests or loud music, as it sometimes happens in other places. All in all it’s very decent and I would go there again.
Hi, Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback as this is how we improve. We look forward to seeing you again.
awesome place and great service!
Great food - but disorganised poor service. Staff seemed to have no idea about what they were doing. No system at all. Resulted in customers sitting there with no drinks for a long time, no plates cleared, and customers having to get up and ask for the cheque.
Great place to go with friends
Food was good, waitress was awesome but portion is too small for the price it costs. I almost wanted to grab a slice of pizza at the store nearby to fill the empty space.
First time to Cibo. We were looking for an early Father’s Day dinner with our adult children. Amazing, we are very happy with the service and food! Defiantly will return.
We had eaten at this restaurant several times in the past and it was good. We booked it for a post theatre dinner thinking it would be a good reliable choice. What a mistake that was. Our dinner was just not good. The meatballs lacked any real flavour, the spaghetti vongole was the blandest I have ever eaten, the sauteed kale could have done with some garlic and flavour, the only half decent thing we had was the creamy polenta which was good. I now understand that the chef has changed and this is unfortunate. I am sure that others agree with my assessment because the restaurant was 3/4 empty on a Friday night, that says it all.
Used to go regularly until a couple of years ago. Menu has changed. Food very good. Will probably become a regular again.
Everything was beautiful the service the food the atmosphere and no loud music so you could talk easily
The tagliatelle bolognese was delicious! Worth the visit for this alone.
We went before a VSO POPS show and it was lovely! I ordered from the set menu arranged for the VSO diners and enjoyed it. It was stacked in favour of seafood lovers and as I am allergic, I had one option for each of the starter and the main course but they were great tasting. My spouse ordered branzino which was delicious(just slightly over cooked). Our service was excellent and we always enjoy the ambience at Cibo.
Dinner menu selection for pasta was more limited compared to the last visit. However, pasta selected was still excellent. Disappointed in the tiramisu dessert since it contained no ladyfingers & was not in the traditional square format & was rather bland tasting.
It’s a nice place before the concert or any other occasion, food is good quality and lovely atmosphere and decor.
Recently had a wonderful experience at Cibo and would recommend. Interesting cocktails, great selection of wines including some reasonably priced. Food was delicious - I had the tagliatele and the past was cooked to perfection. Wonderful and attentive service, and the restaurant provided a complimentary dessert for the person in our group celebrating a birthday. We'll be back!
Before theatre dinner for 4. They had a special fixed theatre menu. Very good. Service was excellent.
There is nothing particularly wrong with the food or service, but the quality of the food has clearly deteriorated. I came here a year ago and the pasta was amazing. The pasta and ravioli were both stale and the sauce was below average. For that price it’s a miss.
The only positive is the tiramisu for desert which was amazing
The ambiance was great! The prosciutto e melone was delightful and the main course of roasted duck was superb. My husband had ravioli al brasato which was excellent . I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The best was desert and an espresso!
Otherwise the food tasted bland and the presentation not what it was before.
Enjoyable experiences with good food and service. But no one in Vancouver can do a proper tirimasu, although this one came close.
Great service and excellent food. Highly recommended!
Amazing food, excellent and friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely be back soon.
A hidden gem in dt!
