I’m ao glad me and my boyfriend celebrated my birthday here; it was one of the most romantic dinners I’ve ever had. The food was delicious, the environment was beautiful; lighted by candles and a cozy fireplace. Also, the server was very friendly, lovely, and considerate. 10/10 for sure!
The quality of the food was good and it was delicious. The portions were small but that may have been because it was the Dine Out Vancouver 3 course dinner menu. I'll likely go back and have another dinner and hopefully the portions will be a little bit bigger.
Smaller sized restaurant with a beautiful, quiet ambience. Food was delicious but the portions could have been larger and took too long to serve.
Wonderful, the service is exceptional
Absolutely fantastic experience again. The burrata was incredible especially with the smoked cauliflower... the whole meal was amazing and the service perfect. Can't recommend more .. a special spot
First time dining here. i made reservation 2weeks before expecting to try their a la carte menu. Sadly they only offered set menu for valentines day which was fine to me but i booked through the open table and didn’t see any info saying that only offer set menu. It would be nice if they had reached out and let us know about it. We ordered the valentines day menu $75 per person, the portions were EXTREMELY SMALL. We had to share ONE PIECE of lasagna. Overall, the food was just AVERAGE. The service was VERY POOR. The restaurant was not that busy and none of the staff walked by to check on us. All they did was just dropping off the dishes and clearing the table. I was expecting more from all the reviews and we paid closer to $300. Very disappointed.
great food and experience on Valentines Day. Fantastic service! When we mentioned our hotel didn’t come with water, our server gave us 2 bottles of Italian mineral water in the house! A bit pricy but good food and service so will definitely be back!
We went there for the Valentines set menu. The food was good but I would have probably ordered other food if given the choice. The service and location were excellent. Will definitely go back in the future to try their regular menu.
We ordered the Valentine’s Day menu. 1st and 2nd course were extremely small. While the oyster was fresh, the quail egg foam was like eating air. The cod dish was a lot better, but a similar theme of being too small of a portion. The lasagne was probably the worst thing of the night as it was burnt, dry, and so small. The fact that we had to share this itty bitty piece of lasagne was sad. The fourth course was love birds which was delicious. The leeks on the bottom were not good and should be replaced with like carrots or potatoes. One downfall for the quail is that we had to use our hands to eat it which was not ideal. Last course was chocolate lava cake. We were expecting chocolate fondue as in fruits or brownies dipped in chocolate. It was alright, nothing special. The drink that was recommended was $30 and was not good. All in all, would not recommend as it was $75 per person and somehow we had to share two dishes which was not stated anywhere. Our bill was over $200 and we felt like our money should’ve been spent elsewhere.
Valentine’s Day brunch.
Love the build your own mimosas. Great value for a bottle of bubbles and 3 fresh juices!!
The food was delicious and different from the normal brunch offerings, which was a lot of fun.
Valentines dinner set-course menu. 75 Dollars/ person. Terrible food. Some of the worst tasting food I have ate in any restaurant... Let alone for that price.
I never leave poor reviews but felt compelled to do so. Please do not try a set course menu when your chefs clearly have no idea how to cook 'complex' dishes/ingredients. Keep it simple. Simple dishes with good taste at a high price point is acceptable. Instead we got extravagant ingredients poorly executed and truly horrible taste. Some of the dishes were not edible. I could see from other peoples facial reactions they were not enjoying as well. With a few cocktails to wash down the taste my dinner came to 238 dollars including tip. Unacceptable will never visit again.
Would i recommend Cibo to anyone? No and I would advocate against it!
The server was very knowledgeable and chatty. However, the food portions were so small we left hungry. They didn't do anything special for our celebration. No one was in there. They are only doing their take out menu so you only get 3 options for dinner. Don't go here to celebrate. There is so many better Italian restaurants downtown and for better value. I won't ever be coming back.
They didn’t even offer some bread for waiting abt 2 hours (no lies) for our mains. Apparently they gave our apps to another table. We also waited about 1 hour for the apps. (Reservation was at 7:15, got Mains around 9:30). Atleast they took off our wine from the bill. FOOD was seriously TOO LITTLE FOR THE PRICE. I get that fancy places cost more for less food, but this was wayyy too little. Did not have any satisfaction because even the food was blah, nothing special, just expensive food that’s made to make u believe that it’s super authentic.Never again.
Outstanding food and service - the room was very well done! Impressive.
Food was underwhelming. Portions were tiny for the price. We were looking for some good pasta for dinner, and it just wasn’t what we were expecting.
This is my second visit. First visit was equally a bad experience, poor service and the only people in the restaurant. I thought I would give it another chance. The appetizers were okay, beef tartar and burrata- nothing special. Service was very poor, didn’t even have cutlery to eat with, no drinks until we were ready to leave, one item didn’t even make it to the table. Our entrees were very bland, didn’t care to eat them. Went elsewhere immediately afterwards.
Had a good meal for two. There was no one in the restaurant when we went there, which was great. I really enjoyed their restaurant ambience and we had a awesome server too.
Went for brunch. Service was EXCELLENT. Sebastian from Germany is one of the best servers we've had in a long time - kind, accommodating, polite, perfect timing.
Celebrating my 56th Birthday on a quiet Monday night...only 1 other table besides my wife and I...nice room, warm, with great music, lighting, and vibe, considering it was very quiet, which is ok for us...hard to make any mistakes from the back of the house, to the front of the house...Eden was our server, and was very polished, friendly, interesting, and efficient. The food was very good, tasty, nicely presented, average portions, Octopus carpaccio was on the smallish side, and a little bland, Beef tartar was delicious, nice portion, and also had the Tuna crudo, also nicely presented, beautifully executed! My wife and I continued to share as she always wants to eat this way...for the main course we shared the Agnolotti del Plin, which was superb, albeit a smallish portion, and one of my favorite Linguini Vongole, which was wonderful! The young Chef has game, overall a great experience, and will be back to try their Happy Hour! Also, a central location, and nice little Boutique Hotel!
Amazing fully immersive experience with all of the senses. Food and service were absolute perfection. The staff know the menu and wine pairings inside and out.
We will happily come back many times.
Came looking forward to the lunch menu but was told only had the brunch menu for a 1pm Friday reservation, although on the sign said lunch was available. Not a fan of brunch. Very disappointed.
Wonderful New Years Eve meal!
Food was excellent over the top. They gave us very nice table by the fireplace. Highly recommend the wine pairing option as it made the meal more memorable. We have booked again for our next celebration.
Came for the prix fixe New Years Eve menu.
Had high expectations but unfortunately this evening did fall short.
Positives - everyone that works here is extremely nice and polite. It is our server that redeemed our night. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fantastic, warm and eclectic.
Negatives - It certainly felt the restaurant staff were quite frazzled which was clearly seen in the food and service.
We received our table 30 mins after the time we booked. After 15mins of waiting at the door, they provided us a seat at the bar with glass of wine which was a great save.
Once we were seated, this is where things really fell apart.
It took 25mins to be spoken to after being served water. At this stage we had been at the restaurant for almost an hour with an empty stomach and wine. We had high hopes of ordering the prix-fixe with wine pairings but by the time someone came to take our order, there was only 2 minutes left to order our drinks (due to the provincial law on NYE). So in order to make up for this, it was suggested we get a bottle of wine to set us for the night with a great deal (a little disappointing since the menu had lobster and steak.)
Finally when the first course arrived, turns out it was the wrong dish. After realizing the mistake they removed it, but we proceeded to wait another 15 minutes to receive our first course.
The first and second course were great. However the rest of the dishes lacked flavour and were not cooked correctly perhaps due to stress in the kitchen (flour in the roux, well done lobster, deconstructed tiramisu with no resemblance to the real flavours i.e. coffee or chocolate and was overly sweet.)
Essentially this would not qualify as a "fine" dining experience. The service was pleasant, the atmosphere was warm and vibrant, but the food and experience lacked the finishing touches for it to be fine dining along with the cost associated.
Great food and great place but for COVID time the tables are quite close and people may pass very clothes to each other!
It was best
Over priced pasta. The portions were small. The bread arrived after the meat plate.
great location and okay ambience, but the food was not what you would expect from the price point
Nice place, nice service, nice ambiance and nice & tasty foof
Not our first time, not our last time. Cibo is consistent. The 50% break on wines at present is a plus.
Our server was lovely and food was good but we all honestly found the guy there to be a bit rude. My gf barely made it a foot in the door before he sternly said "you need a mask". My gf knew that and forgot hers and was planning to get one from the table at the front. You need to take a couple steps in the door to reach a mask at hostess area. Nicer way too remind people especially since wearing in a restaurant is very new to us all.
Likely won't be back for while. His rudeness didn't sit well with us.
Amazing. Great food
A fantastic small spot with amazing food ..freshly made pasta .just delicious .. the Arctic Char special . Our server fun and efficient ..chef stopped by ..highly recommend .going back tonight
Fabulous experience Adam and his team know how to create an amazing evening - a date night must!
Great service and really enjoyable dinners. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
For those looking for well prepared pasta, innovative twists on classic italian appetizers and attentive service, this is highly recommended. Tables can be small if you order a selection of items and room a little restrictive for access.
Très bon restaurant! Pâtes fraîches excellentes ! Bon choix de vins! Bon service! J’y retournerai sans hésitation!
nice service
It is a very cute restaurant and atmosphere. It’s on the smaller side which made it perfect for breakfast. The waiter was awesome. He had a great balance of checking in on us and letting us be while we were just chatting. We never felt rushed, but always felt taken care of.
Dear Terra, Thank you for the review and lovely comments. Hope to see you again soon! Regards, Kelly JH Sales and Marketing Manager
Lovely brunch. Loved the Mimosa special which is a bottle of Prosecco and a variety of fresh juices. We easily spent 2.5 hours there. Lovely ambience. Great food.
Dear RonnaleaH, Thank you for your review, I'm happy to hear you enjoyed brunch. I agree that Mimosa special is a great steal! We hope to see you again soon. Best regards, Kelly Jordan-Hamilton Sales and Marketing Manager
