Cibo Wine Bar King St West Ratings and Reviews
Our server gave great suggestions, was very knowledgeable and it was overall a great experience.
Very disappointed! We were visiting Toronto for my wifes 60th birthday and were anticipating a special evening .We ended up leaving after our impersonal greeting at reception and seated by the food prep area by a hostess that seemed to be in a rush to get on to other things. There were plenty of more intimate tables available. I have a small buisness and realize the value of customer service!
Really good service except when the meals came they did not address my dietary restrictions and my partner had to wait while they remade my meal. Felt bad he had to eat cold pasta
Visiting from Montreal & this is my boyfriend & I's favourite spot when we come down to Toronto! Cannot wait to come back.
My server was Mark and he went above and beyond for us! Excellent experience
Attended Cibo for NYE dinner and it was outstanding. Food was delicious and service was great! Absolutely going back!
Cibo is one of my favourite places to go. The food is always delicious, and for the price you can’t go wrong. My boyfriend and I have gone for their New Years Eve special dinner the last couple years. For $75-$100 you got a variety of courses. It was A LOT of food but so delicious, and you could always take home some left overs. We went again for New Years Eve this year and were disappointed that they no longer had this dinner option available. We were also seated in the quiet area of the restaurant where it was freezing!
Food off the regular menu was still delicious and I will continue to come back to this restaurant.
Service was almost too good. We wanted to have a leisurely dinner and I felt like we were being rushed through the meal to open up the table. Other than that it was great.
Got a Very cold table...as the walls are not insulated..
Asked If we could move, which was okay.
When ordereing food, we asked to have 20 min between course, and was told of course.
But I had not even finished my starter When they arrived with entree.
They took it away, and we then wanted 30 min and had to ask for main course.
Unfortunately my husband got at weird tasting shrimp and got sick.
Great open space to catch up with old friends or family dinners.
Group of 4, two women and two men, aged 46 to 52 went out for dinner. The variety of items on the menu and wine list were great, along with the ambience. Before tip, with dinner, a bottle of wine and a few cocktails the bill came to about $300.
The only negative was font color on a background menu color, where although 2 of us had near perfect eyesight, we all needed to break out our phone light to effectively read the menu based on the lighting in our area and even then it was a struggle. However, this is problem beginning to frequently occur in all media, as younger marketing professionals make final layout calls unaware of 45+ demographic eyesight.
Beyond the menu, it was an overall great experience.
My friend and I met up at Cibo for dinner. Got the burrata and 2 pastas to share - pretty decent size portions, and tiramisu afterwards.
Delicious Italian at a great price range. Very creative cocktails. We were celebrating a birthday and when we ordered desert it came with a little candle in it which was adorable. Will always come back to this location.
Awesome food and great service! Well organized and accomodation for my group booking.
It can be for Christmas,
Excellent wine selection. Great location and vibe. Only shared a few appies but all were delicious. Definitely will be returning.
Great place overall! The atmosphere, service, food/wine selection is amazing.
Very nice ambiance, however food is mediocre and not at the level I would expect. I had a lobster dish and it was not cooked very well. Lobster was overdone and did not taste fresh. Tomato sauce in the pasta dish was so-so. It may have just been the dish I ordered, but this was my first time there and may not return. Service was OK, server was very friendly but never asked how our food was and did not come by to check-in. Also, I found the artwork in the hallway to the washroom distasteful and quite offensive to me as a woman.
Always have a great time at Cibo for dinner or brunch
Went here for my boyfriends birthday, was absolutely incredible. Haven’t had a dish like that in forever. The chef did an incredible job with creating an amazing dish. The service was amazing as well, everyone was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. 100% will go back again and again.
Great food and great service. Compliments to the Chef and crew.
Business year-end lunch
We got sat in the front by the window ... it was freezing dark and had no warmth or ambiance . Compared to being at the back of the restaurant . It was like the senior section. People were dressed in Ugg’s and parkas . My food was so bland and my friends food was over cooked. Definitely prefer the yorkville location for atmosphere .
Our office heads over to Cibo quite often (the lunch menu is a real value!), however this visit was a little disappointing: service was slow and when we asked someone to check on our food in the kitchen after 35 minutes had passed, she simply never came back! Plus there were no dinner napkins, and the women’s washroom was out of hand soap! The restaurant seemed a little disorganized which is a real shame, as the food is typically great! Our server seemed to about 12 years old and couldn’t answer my colleagues’ question regarding an ingredient in a dish on the menu and made no effort to either. I’m a pretty easy going person and rarely take the time out of my day to provide feedback, but this time I felt the restaurant really could have done better.
Food was very good and great gluten free options! Would recommend this place to anyone for all occasions. Only disappointment was in the service. It wasn’t bad, but it was slow at times and did have to ask more than once for the server to come to our table.
Unfortunately the restaurant had an off night with our meal...don’t know if the server was new but our main course arrived half way thru my salad. I asked them to take back the meal...it arrived later after being put under a heat lamp...the tell-tale sign: the tomato pasta sauce had become crusty around the edge of the plate. My wife’s Lobster ravioli smelled and tasted fishy. In fairness to Cibo, the manager apologized and deleted the two main courses from our bill.
Our Toronto friends and our sons who have been to Cibo have indicated our experience was not the norm...try again?
Our second time at this location and dinner was superb. Sommelier was very informative and her recommendation was bang on - decent price point also - never tried to up-sell us. Was informed of another reso for our table in 2 hours but never felt rushed. Service was great without “hovering”. We drive in from Muskoka and it is well worth the 2+ hour drive. Looking forward to next time!
Was great. Food was awesome. Lots of it too. Will be back.
Service was excellent. Food was authentic and quick. Wine was amazing. Downtown prices but worth it after all is done. Will be back.
Romantic dinner w/ bf b4 a show. Arabic I was delicious. Bacci Bomb dessert was not not to my liking, but it didn’t taste bad. A little dark, but it was kinda romantic until we turned on our phone torch to read the menu. Overall, wonderful dining experience on a Thursday.
It was too loud to have a decent conversation
food was heated over, had to send back, second time around much better. Have been many times before and never had service this bad
Not great. They had us wait 45 minutes past our reservation time. Special Occasion noted on the reservation was completely ignored... table service was extremely slow... from coffee to napkins to bill. Everything took forever or just didn’t arrive at all. This is our second time here and the first time was not as bad.
Great to bring kids and family. They also have separate rooms for parties. PERFECT!
Great food and atmosphere.
I came here for my birthday with a few friends and has made a reservation. I was told ahead of time before my seating that there was a 2 hour limit at the table, which was fine, but a couple of my friends were a little late so we got off to a bit of a late start. Everything was good, service was great, meals were good, but then after our entrees we’re done and we ordered dessert, the dessert came just fine, but our bills came with it. I felt rushed as I did not ask for the bill and planned on maybe ordering more drinks. As the server left us with our bills I felt more confused as to if we were getting kicked out or not. As we were finishing up our drinks, a different server came over with the payment machines, basically handing them over to us without asking if we were ready to pay. When my friend asked if there was a limit to how long we can stay, the server said he did not know, and continued to hand us the machine to pay. In the future, I just hope a server would ask me if we’re all finished ordering for the night before they just bring my bill and except me to pay when we weren’t even finished our drinks.
I was looking forward to try this restaurant I heard about.
Beautiful place but disappointed by the food The pasta wasn’t al dente as you would expect but more mushy like in a fast food restaurant.
People from my group had the same impression
The food was great, though some items are far overpriced. A caprese salad app for $19 seems a bit much - it's literally 3 tomato slices with mozzarella and basil - a bit extreme.
Unfortunately our overall experience was ruined by the sommelier who was incredibly rude, rolled her eyes at us, and spoke to us as if we were beneath her and as if she had better things to do than to answer our questions. Yet, we bought a $70 bottle of wine! Our entire table felt intimidated, uncomfortable, and like we didn't belong. We were there early in the evening, so the restaurant was nearly completely empty. I'm not sure why we were privy to such attitude and impatience.
Our server on the other hand, was fantastic.
