Cibo Wine Bar - Yorkville Ratings and Reviews
Great ambiance and good for groups we had a group of 9 and they had large booths which were just the right size for communicating. Service was quite slow but I think a lot of people came in at the same time. The manager also offered a free round of apperatifs for the wait time. Food was very flavourful even the simple pasta dishes. I generally add salt to all my dishes but didn't require any on my shrimp pasta with a simple lemon sauce. Wine selection was good with wines not found in the LCBO.
Overall, a good meal and a fun atmosphere. Tasty cocktails to start, the waiter was pleasant, and we had a nice time. Was a bit loud, so may not be ideal for those who are hard of hearing or looking for a quiet meal.
Was ok. Our third time there. Food on the other occasions was better. Very busy Wednesday but shouldn’t make a difference. Was our go to spot when we couldn’t decide where to go, if that makes any sense. Think we will move on.
Overall, it's a great place that can host a variety of people's preferences and outings. Having gone to several Cibo locations, I was disappointed that on New Year's Eve (notwithstanding the night being busier than usual), the sommelier did not come around until much* later into my group being seated. In addition, we waited 35 minutes for the food. While the entrees were delicious and warm, the delay was disappointing. That being said, the server's attentiveness and generosity in offering a complimentary drink appropriately addressed the situation.
great ambiance, good friendly (not pushy) service, delicious food, resonable prices except for wine list (pricey) - i would go again and/or recommend it
Great food and service. Nice way to welcome 2018
Great food, great staff - we always have an excellent time at Cibo!
When we got to the restaurant we were seated in a section close to the windows. We had 6 in our party. It was cold and even though the restaurant was getting busy they graciously moved us to a much warmer are. The food was excellent and the menu choices satisfied everyone in our group. Would definitely recommend CIBO.
Great food and great wine for a decent price. Service was pretty good - especially considering how busy they were
We have dined at CIBO numerous times at the Yonge St and Yorkville locations. Showed up at Yorkville location with a reservation on a Tuesday and was stuck in the empty cold basement in our opinion because we had children with us. The main floor dining room was also not that busy at 5:30 pm. Service was intermittent and seemed rushed when we were served. Drinks were incorrect, no heat in the basement and food arrived at the same time as cocktails. We had eaten at this location the week before on a Friday and enjoyed the food, ambiance and service. We ordered the same drinks and food on this occasion as previous and quality was far inferior. We eat out as a family numerous times per month and will not go to this CIBO location again. A big disappointment.
Delicious. Service was very polite, but this is not a choice for those who want a quick or intimate meal and conversation. Quite noisy because it was packed.
Food was good as always and the lunch special is a good deal. The service was terrible. We sat for 30 minutes before a drink was brought to the table - only me having a drink. As the waiter passed by I asked if he could please take our order and he was "surprised" that no one had taken our order already?? It was his table... The food arrived another 45 minutes later. Because of the lateness, another staff person came by (manager I guess?) and apologized for the slow service and offering us free dessert. A dessert menu was never brought - just the bill. This was a business lunch and it took almost 2 1/2 hours from arrival to departing and we only had pizza!
Overrated and over priced. There are far better Italian options in the city than Cibo. The place came highly recommended, but the food and service for a restaurant at that price point, just didn't measure up.
I won't be going back.
We had a very nice lunch for a group of 11 .The service was excellent and helpful to all the diners. I would recommend this for a really good choice of food. The manager,Morgan was very pleasant as was his staff.
Great Italian food & wine
Friendly, knowledgeable staff
I don’t usually write reviews but this meal was so bad that I decided to do so. The food was terrible. I returned the caprese salad as the tomatoes were not ripe. Not ripe, meaning barely pink. The fusilli with chicken tasted like it was soaked in soy sauce. Yes, soy sauce. I couldn’t believe this restaurant is in Yorkville. I’m staying at the Four Seasons and would rather order room service. Will NEVER return.
Been to Cibo a couple of times before, but always sat at the bar - this was my first time grabbing a table. After the hostess sat us, we waited almost 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged that we were there. The server was polite but highly distracted - he would take our order and then disappear for a long period of time. The most frustrating thing was when it was time to leave - we waited over 15 minutes after finishing our drinks before the server came back to check on us, only to have him take another 15 minutes to come back with our check despite the fact that the restaurant has pretty much cleared out at this time. The food is quite good and the cocktails are tasty, but the service would stop me from coming back.
Nice restaurant. Great service. Good variety on the menu. Very quick to receive our food and bills when requested.
As usual great service from the time we walked in to get time we left. I had requested a booth but there were none available Victoria as usual took fantastic care of. See you all very soon. Elizabeth
Really friendly waitress!
Great ambience, good wine
Size of pasta was a bit too small and my spaghetti carbonara were too greasy. Super nice waitress!
Was a mediocre experience. Not typical of this place.
Cibo was quite busy, a little too busy for them to handle. Was told to wait at the bar because our reserved table wasn't ready. However, when we went over to the bar, the bar was too full.
The appetizers were great, but the mains were subpar. Wish we could've came at a time where they weren't so busy.
Great service, food and atmosphere. A bit loud but for the price the food was excellent.
Great place to meet friends and enjoy wine and food
We have gone to cibo on numerous occasions and were disappointed in our service. Our table was claustrophobic and we were then moved. We ordered our usual appetizer and then had to wait 15 min for the bread. After requesting water we finally got up and grabbed the bottle ourselves. No one checked on our table and my friend ordered her third glass of wine before 7:00 but due to the lack of checking the service, was charged for the full amount as the server did not order it in a timely manor. We frequent this restaurant often and now may go elsewhere due to the insufficient service
First, I'm a repeat customer, over 15 years. We come to TO, about once a year.
I must say, if you like wine, their red wine is in a glass room kept at 40F some degrees. Not over the fridge, like most places. It's Italian, so lots of pastas, but no problem to find something, even if you're no gluten, like me. Many, many items, spaghetti, less than $20. Water free!! They should just give you the bottle, but our waiter was old school and liked to pour. In Barcelona I was almost attacked for pouring my own wine. It's a large place and if you wanted a quiet place they would accommodate.
They are one of those places that have done the same thing well for quite a while.
It was a wonderful meal because the staff were so hospitable and welcoming. Very pleasant and enjoyable
Most enjoyable and service was great with excellent timing and overall attitude.
Will definitely return.
would have preferred upstairs but when making reservation was not told we would be downstairs
Hippe uitstraling. Attente bediening. Leuk menu met zeer betaalbare specials.
Delicious appetizers and pastas! Second time coming here and was just as good as the first time. A bit on the pricy side for the pastas based on portion size but the taste made up for it. Great for a date night or special occasion!
my only complaint was my friend and I asked for a good red house wine. The server suggested two so I chose one and my friend chose another. My 9 oz glass cost 32.00 and my friends cost 21.
Next time I will open the wine list and choose for myself.
We chose to sit at a high table in the bar since the first table they offered us was a very tight fit ( and we are both thin).
Food was great.
We had a fantastic time ! And got some great advice from our waitress.
So glad we chose here to dine. Our reservations were for 7:45 but we arrived early and although they were ready to seat us, we preferred to visit the bar for a bit first. The wine/beer/cocktail menu was extensive. Our bartender was friendly and helpful. We ordered a charcuterie plate to nibble before dinner which was perfect, as were our drinks. When we were ready to be seated, we were brought up to our table right away. The restaurant was busy and vibrant. Our server was helpful and friendly, but not overbearing. The bread they bring out is so delicious I could've eaten the whole dish. Our salads were fresh and delicious. We had lasagna and cannaloni and both were fabulous. Too full for dessert. Yummy meal, great atmosphere and perfect location in beautiful Yorkville.
The food at Cibo is always amazing and the atmosphere always wants to make you stay a while and order another glass of wine. Thank you for having us to celebrate my friend’s birthday!
Fair service (the bottle of tap water could be left on the table, it does not look bad) - a little bit too noisy, hard to have a normal-decibel conversation. Great food and friendly staff
