Cibo Wine Bar - Yorkville Ratings and Reviews
Most enjoyable and service was great with excellent timing and overall attitude.
Will definitely return.
would have preferred upstairs but when making reservation was not told we would be downstairs
Delicious appetizers and pastas! Second time coming here and was just as good as the first time. A bit on the pricy side for the pastas based on portion size but the taste made up for it. Great for a date night or special occasion!
my only complaint was my friend and I asked for a good red house wine. The server suggested two so I chose one and my friend chose another. My 9 oz glass cost 32.00 and my friends cost 21.
Next time I will open the wine list and choose for myself.
We chose to sit at a high table in the bar since the first table they offered us was a very tight fit ( and we are both thin).
Food was great.
So glad we chose here to dine. Our reservations were for 7:45 but we arrived early and although they were ready to seat us, we preferred to visit the bar for a bit first. The wine/beer/cocktail menu was extensive. Our bartender was friendly and helpful. We ordered a charcuterie plate to nibble before dinner which was perfect, as were our drinks. When we were ready to be seated, we were brought up to our table right away. The restaurant was busy and vibrant. Our server was helpful and friendly, but not overbearing. The bread they bring out is so delicious I could've eaten the whole dish. Our salads were fresh and delicious. We had lasagna and cannaloni and both were fabulous. Too full for dessert. Yummy meal, great atmosphere and perfect location in beautiful Yorkville.
The food at Cibo is always amazing and the atmosphere always wants to make you stay a while and order another glass of wine. Thank you for having us to celebrate my friend’s birthday!
Fair service (the bottle of tap water could be left on the table, it does not look bad) - a little bit too noisy, hard to have a normal-decibel conversation. Great food and friendly staff
The food was pretty good. Tasty appetizers, good amount of dressing on the geeens. Fresh ingredients. Not gourmet, but good quality and tasty. The service was super slow even considering that when we came in the restaurant wasn’t full. The waiters are very mellow and not overly sophisticated. They couldn’t answer some of our questions about the menu items. They apologized about the slow service, but didn’t offer any incentive to compensate for it.
Expected great things being that this was the one in Yorkville, but the service was terrible. Once seated, we waited over 20 minutes before our server came to greet us. Like, how hard is it to stop by to welcome us and say she'll be back. We would have understood. But no contact? Unacceptable. Food took a long time as well. With an experience like that, gotta say, not the best place to take a date .
This restaurant was quite loud. They try to cram as many customers as they can. When I first made the reservation through Open Table I had specified ( because I was asked to specify by the site) the occasion. They gave us a table right beneath the stairwell and right adjacent next to the biggest table that seated 16-20 people. When I first got to the restaurant I politely inquired if they could move us to one of the many vacant tables. But the service staff flat out refused to accommodate. The huge table next to us then got occupied by about 16-20 teenage girls who were the loudest and most annoying in their demeanor. I think their kitchen would have been quieter than the restaurant. The wait staff are concerned about just bringing you your orders so that they can put more bums in seats. Food was OK though, nothing great.
Reserved a table for my father's birthday. My parents tend to be very picky when it comes to dinning Italian. They were thoroughly impressed. The ambiance is definitely a great added bonus. I will be sure to recommend this restaurant to clients and friends!
Party of 7 with a 1 year old baby, they sat us in a nice high table by the bar but terrible choice for a 1 year old. I didn’t say anything since we were inviting some friends and I didn’t want to make a fuss.
Food was OK, service was good. Place is very nice but we had a swarm of fruit flies. I killed about 5 but there were many more. I guess it was that spot of the restaurant.
Always fun Ambiance is always great. Fun and light
Great food! Great service! Our new favourite Italian restaurant.
Great food. Great bread and pizza. Lovely pasta. Good meat and poultry. Caesar salad not so good. Smelled fish. Great service. But the manager was v rude and asked us out after we paid due to other booking
Read my attachment............................
My food was burnt. I did not want to make a big deal since I had gone here with my wife for our anniversary.
We asked for a quiet table but I don't think there were any.
Cibo is one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto. I go there whenever I am in the city, even if it is just for a quick lunch or after-dinner drink. The food is outstanding! Also, they are not overpriced, like some of the other restaurants in the area. I have always recommended their polenta fries and grilled calamari, but my new favourite is the grilled octopus!!
Excellent meal. I would recommend the lobster ravioli. Ravioli shells were packed with lobster meat. Nicole our server was lovely and helped to make our evening and enjoyable experience.
my second visit to cibo. my guest was really impressed. food was delicious. staff freindly. our server Aimee was kind polite and courteous. menu has a good variety at reasonable prices. didnt leave hungry! all my/our visits to toronto will include at least one dinner at cibo wine. Already recommended to co-workers.
Special event given to open table yet no one made any mention at restaurant that I was celebrating my wife's birthday seated us in metal chairs beside a steel beam nice way to celebrate I guess we will not return again
Table for two by the front window was perfect and the food was delicious. Great night.
Can't complain about the service but that can't make up for the poor food. Yorkville prices for East-Side Mario's quality and gigantic portion sizes.
We go to cibo all the time but this time it took forver to get appetizers and food !
It was good overall, for some reason there were a lot of fruit flies in the restaurant. The food and drinks were good, had to send the trout back because it was over cooked, but the service was great!
We were a group of 6 celebrating my daughter's 29th birthday. We were seated in the downstairs section in the booth at the far corner. Our evening started off well enough, the waitress was attentive and patient while we decided on our meals, but it quickly went downhill because of a demanding table next to ours who were not happy with their meals and monopolised the waitress's time complaining and returning meals. Our table was totally neglected and the waitress even admitted that she had forgotten about us because of the demanding table and there was not much she could do about it and that she was doing her best. Our meal took 3.5 hours to complete! Thank goodness we enjoy the company of our friends and family or it would have been a disaster.
The food was good but the service was terrible and because of this I hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Went to eat for lunch for my brother’s 30th birthday with my family. The bread and olives given at first was very good. It was the main foods that were disappointing. I ended up having a hair in my cannelloni, which hey I guess happens every once in a while. What I wasn’t pleased with was that since I didn’t want to make everyone else wait another 20 mins for their food to get a new one made, I asked if I could get a minestrone soup. When the bill came, I was charged for the minestrone soup. I was really disappointed with this. In addition my other brother got risotto and found it very salty. The birthday brother got lasagna and liked it but it takes 25 mins since its oven baked. ANd my mom for lobster ravioli which was good but for $21 it cost almost $4 per ravioli. Overall for what looked like a restaurant with nice nuances, I wasn’t very impressed.
Even though we enjoyed Cibo and the food, the table we were seated at (to the right of the main door, against the wall), had soooooo many bugs on the back of us - looked like fruit flies but they were really annoying. We didn't see them at first as they blended into the back wall fabric and when they were flying around we thought they were coming in from the main door being opened so much. We realized they were actually on the back wall as we were paying our cheque.
Very disappointed in the service and the food lacked taste.
Reservation was handled properly. Warm and friendly welcome,
Olives and bread to begin, food and wine were perfect. Risotto isn't always easy to be prepared spot on, here it is simply perfect.
The only small minus is the rather high noice-level.
Amazing as always.
Delicious fresh pasta! Wonderful service. Can't wait to return 🙂.
The air conditioning was WAY too high but otherwise it was a great meal.
My husband and I came here for an anniversary dinner. Everything started off great, we ordered a bottle of wine, appetizers, mains and dessert. The food was amazing. Then things slowed down significantly and it unfortunately ruined our experience. After our dessert and bottle of wine was finished we waited a very long time until we could ask our server for the bill. That took about 20-25 minutes. Then we waited another 35 minutes to get our bill! We saw our server clearing other tables and tending to her other tables but completely forgot about us. We waited nearly an entire hour to get out of the restaurant (which wasn’t very busy at this point) after finishing our meals and drinks. The only reason we got our bill when we did was because we flagged down the host and asked her as nobody else came by to our table after that. When we did get our bill there was barely any apology or acknowledgement of us waiting a ridiculous amount of time. It’s a shame as our experience up until that point was fantastic. If we do go back we would go to one of the other locations.
Disappointingly limited selection of wines by the glass for a wine bar.
Overall I find Cibo pretty middling when it comes to food and overall value. It feels a bit prefab. The service and wine recos were amazing - Vanisha you rule!
Great day l, how ever the server who was a lady with a British accent could have treated us a lot better. She came across rude and rushed
Upon entry, you're met by very attractive and scantily clad young women who weren't hired for their intelligence. As I stood at the reception, the young hostess seemed to be so confused by the computer seating in front of her that I stood there for a good few minutes before she looked up and didn't say hello but asked me to wait a second! (Glad to see throughout the evening that it wasn't anything personal since this happened to pretty much everyone who entered. The owner might be happy to hear that a few walk ins got fed up and left!)
From there were finally seated and waited a good 10 minutes without any server coming over. I noticed a server going to a table nearby that had been seated after us and asked her kindly if there was a server assigned to our table. She seemed frustrated and told us there were a bunch of newbies and she would look after us.
The food was ok but nothing special. Your basic Italian thin crust pizza joint
