Cilantro proudly features Alberta’s first wood burning pizza oven imported from Italy in 1988 as well as a fully enclosed patio that is surrounded by white lights above in the trees and luscious Virginia Creepers.
Complementing the menu is Cilantro’s award-winning wine menu designed by Brad Royale, as well as a cocktail menu that will focus on classics with a twist.
Tuesday: Cocktails with a Twist - $ 8 classic cocktails with a twist.
Wednesday: Chef’s Feature Pasta
Thursday: Boards & Wine – 2 glasses of wine + a charcuterie board for $30
Friday: Cellar Nights – We open a rare wine to be poured by the glass. One bottle only.
We ordered 2 cocktails at $12 each & at our table of 4 we ALL thought they were terrible & a waste of $. The food is pricey, and although it tasted good it was not a generous portion--we left there hungry.
Cilantros is always a reliable choice: Great Food; Excellent Staff and Wonderful ambiance. I always recommend to friends and family
We wanted to sit on the patio, but the weather didn’t cooperate! But it was lovely!
“Excellent” as always !! The place never changes in that the decor may but the service and food .. the overall ambiance ... is and always has been ...amazing !!
I was surprised that there was confusion over our reservation [ since I had reserved and confirmed via OpenTable ] especially since the restaurant was half empty anyway.
Food was good ( as usual), but I was not impressed with the “very ordinary” service.
Decided to go to Alforno (Teatro Group) for desert and coffee ...
I was a little disappointed; this visit was not as positive as several previous visits had been. I hope this doesn’t indicate an overall decline in service ...
The food was very good and the server;excellent. Made recommendation on wine that we appreciated. We were not rushed and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. the upstairs was quiet and we appreciated being able to talk and hear one another and not the whole rstaurant
What a perfect birthday dinner with friends! Excellent service, excellent cocktails, excellent food, outstanding wine. Oh my, the wine. Thanks to Sommelier Brad Royale the wine was perfectly paired with the food we ordered. Love this place!
Nice pizza oven Not the most creative options Poor crust
Pepper linguine tasteless
This place had gone downhill...
Wont be back
lovely as usual and appreciate the warm reception and customer service . Food was outstanding - one of my favorite eating spots in Calgary
Lovely food above and beyond, service is amazing so attentive. Thank you
Met friends here for outdoor dining. Very good service and food. Thought wine prices by the glass were pricey but by bottle much better. Pizzas are great! Gluten free options were offered which were appreciated. Will definitely return.
Excellent service. We all left dinner hungry after sharing an appetizer & each having our own main meals. Expensive when considering the portion size.
I havent been to Cilantro since the renovation, it looks amazing! I came with my boyfriend and parents for a belated Mothers/Fathers day. Amazing wine list and great cocktails. The food was cooked perfectly. Service was super friendly too
Always enjoy dining at Cilantro.
I had not been to Cilantro in quite some time and wanted to give it a try for a get together with friends. We had booked the patio but unfortunately due to the weather, we had to change our reservation to indoors. The service was great and food very good. We started by sharing the pear and gorgonzola pizza and the buffalo mozzarella. Between the group we had the roasted cauliflower, mussels, tomato and mozzarella salad, and the black pepper linguine. Everything was flavorful and well presented. We will be back.
Our server was great and the food was delicious! Such a cool ambiance and atmosphere. Loved watching our food and drinks being made! Thanks :)
Great patio , food was NOT as good as previous
Enjoyed the meatballs!
Some of the BEST food in the city! Everything we’ve had at Cilantro has been full of flavour and super fresh, we also love the amazing wine selection and super cute patio outside! Perfect for date night but I’d go for any occasion ;)
Always a pleasure going to cilantro. we've been 6-7 times in the last 8 years and it has never disappointed.
We were there when it was quiet but we would definitely try again. We hear the lamb is superb (?)
Amazing atmosphere with great service. The menu had some unique choices which was refreshing and the food was delicious. One of the best gnocchi ever!
My visit to Cilantro about 5 years ago was fantastic so I was looking forward to taking a friend for her birthday.
I had reserved a few days in advance but the only table they could offer us was rather exposed and had a big ledge about head level so it wasn’t as cozy and comfortable as we hoped for. We found the food portions small for the high prices. We were expecting bread prior to dinner, like they used to offer, but you now have to order bread and butter off the menu for $6. The red wine by the glass options were fantastic and the chocolate peanut butter pie was sensational. Service was excellent.
I called to ask about parking and was told it was behind the restaurant. When I arrived I saw it was pay parking so paid then saw a note below where you get the receipt that Cilantro guests should register their license number. My friend did the same thing so we each paid $5 and the restaurant said it was too late. Better signage is needed and if people call in to ask about parking staff should tell them it’s free.
Went for dinner and had a couple of pasta dishes. The linguini is is like ramen noodles. Good taste but weird texture. You get the pasta and that’s it. Not a piece of bread or a bun with it. Beer selection is not very good.
One of my fav patios in the city. It was a windy day but since it is enclosed we were nicely sheltered. Enjoyed the charcuterie board and two glasses of wine for 30 (available Thursdays). You get 3 meats (can substitute a cheese) and other accompaniments. It isn’t a ton of food but leaves room for an entree. Everything was very tasty. I had my “go-to” pizza which is the pear and gorgonzola and it was great. I’ve ordered other items off the menu in the past and wasn’t as impressed so now I stick with what I know I like. Anyway, all in all it was a great night out with a friend.
I met a friend for lunch. She had never been to cilantro before, She loved it. Especially since we had a table on the patio in the sunshine.
Great cozy atmosphere and very nice private patio with tall walls to block out 17th ave traffic. Mussels, elk salami pizza and beet salad were great and service was excellent.
My family celebrate Morhers day and we order Special which was excellent . We had very good young lady looking after us her name is Cat and she was very very good
We enjoy having her at our table very professional and good sport and funny and all around nice person
Lovely 5-course dinner for mothers Day
The incredible food, the attentiveness of the staff, and the comfortable atmosphere of Cilantro will definitely make us come back again and again
The food is ok but no more! We had a reservation booked a week ahead but there is no possibility to reserve patio table so we had no advantage by booking a week ahead over the people just walking in!
No bread was offered which is a trend becoming more and more common, but I think in that price range it should be complimentary.
They have a classic popular dish which they made as well at their other restaurant Divino which recently closed...too bad as it was so much better at the other restaurant. The dish is black pepper linguini. The pasta was presented in a darkly peppered tinged white sauce( made it unappealing) with pieces of chicken and a few (2-3) small strands of wilted spinach! I can make better pasta at home, very disappointing! Dessert, crème brûlée, had nothing that you can’t purchase premise anywhere!
Four friends on a gorgeous spring night. We happily sipped and nibbled our way through an evening of lively conversation. The service was perfect - attentive but not intrusive. The food was delicious. We'll be back.
Excellent service from the moment we arrived. Loved the patio, perfect ambiance for dinner. Delicious food, the appetizer of house made ricotta and warm olives was a stand out, bison ribs were so tender, lemon pasta worth coming back for. Free parking (if you can get it) was a bonus. Not surprising in business 30 years.
Always great! Food, service, wine, welcoming environment, cozy bar!
Very good restaurant. Seafood Pasta was awesome. Banana Cheesecake
Family birthday celebration-thank you for the sparkler in bday boy’s dessert and the restaurant also took care of the bday dessert-very nice!
Fantastic, melt in mouth beef carpaccio(so much so we ordered the second) and the rack of lamb was delicious-the clear winners at our table. Close runner up would be the Arctic char. The bison short ribs were braised and so very tender, but didn’t have as much flavor as compared to lamb. The carrots and parsnips were lovely side vegetable choices-I enjoy parsnips but they could have been cooked more-they were really too hard. The wine list is wonderful and the Mosel Riesling(Nahe) we ordered-excellent! Our round booth table by the window was comfortable with a great view of bustling 17th Ave. For most of our party, the high energy and noise level was okay, however, too noisy for our 83 year old Mom/Nana. Overall, we enjoyed our visit, pleasant service and food! Thank you!
The server was not engaging. Did not talk to us about specials or anything else for that matter. Not the feel good experience we are used to.
Took first date to Cilantro was busy and noisy but helped keep our conversation to only between us. Interesting wine selection and the food was just right for sharing. Our waitress was great prompt and attentive but not bothersome.
The service was slow, I ordered a soup and gnocchi. Maybe, I am too spoiled being raised in NYC around the best restaurants and service in the world. Food was taste however is was heavily salted. As I always say a cook cook never put too much salt on the food. I would prefer that lack of it so I could add it to my own taste...
This is one of our favourite restaurants in Calgary. The ingredients are always very fresh. The combinations are as local as you can get, with amazing, deep flavours from well-crafted, proven, creative dishes that are filling and appropriately priced for a special evening.
The service is attentive without being intrusive.
