Cilantro proudly features Alberta’s first wood burning pizza oven imported from Italy in 1988 as well as a fully enclosed patio that is surrounded by white lights above in the trees and luscious Virginia Creepers.
Complementing the menu is Cilantro’s award-winning wine menu designed by Brad Royale, as well as a cocktail menu that will focus on classics with a twist.
Tuesday: Cocktails with a Twist - $ 8 classic cocktails with a twist.
Wednesday: Chef’s Feature Pasta
Thursday: Boards & Wine – 2 glasses of wine + a charcuterie board for $30
Friday: Cellar Nights – We open a rare wine to be poured by the glass. One bottle only.

Was really disappointing......have been longtime frequenters to the restaurant but since the renos, it’s changed. And not for the good.
The ambiance in the restaurant is poor; the white walls give it a stark feeling and odd light. They also changed the menu and took off some favourites. Long gone are the one-page daily specials.
The hostess and server were also poorly dressed for a restaurant of this caliber; almost like they were on their way to he Stanpede after a rougher night out.
Food was mediocre; not ‘wow’ but ‘meh’.
Sad but will never reckoned again and will not go back.

Awesome service. Awesome food. We sat at the wood; bartender (Mike)!was friendly, appropriately social, very helpful, and had great product knowledge.
The food is constantly fabulous! The service is good and the staff are knowledgeable. The overall vibe is classic and elegant but not too stuffy!

I was really looking forward to trying out Cilantro based on all the rave reviews I've read. We ordered the mussels which came in an amazing sauce that I wanted to dip everything in. The bison tartar was good but I felt like it was a bit one note. The bread basket with the honey butter was totally not worth it. The bread was mediocre with the honey butter saving the dish. The caesar salad was tiny and was barely enough for two people so between the 6 of us we each got like two bites each for $14 worth of salad. I mean lettuce is cheap I think you could afford to throw in more lettuce which would have helped with the excessive amount of dressing. Next was the chicken and pancetta pizza which was so dry I had to chug a whole glass of water just to get through one slice which tasted like cardboard. The black pepper linguine pasta had a nice sauce but the pasta was too thick and heavy so the delicate sauce didn't hold up very well against the starchy tasting pasta. The elk gnocchi was pretty good, the elk meat was super tender and flavorful although the gnocchi was a tad on the soft side. Overall I was disappointed and wouldn't recommend it to others. Maybe their summer menu is better but the current menu leaves much to be desired.

The upstairs of the restaurant is warmed by the wood burning pizza oven. Early evening was a good time to visit, so we could have a good conversational time.
Our server was amazing. He was informative in providing options to my friend who has dietary restrictions.
I find the dinner menu towards a higher end price though , so I opted for a pizza. Flavour was great, although nothing special, really. I tried my friend’s gluten-free pasta and it was my first time trying gluten free pasta and it was delicious!
Again the service was great , ambience is cozy, but the food is kinda mediocre. I would still go back to try something else on the menu for sure! :)
We ordered two salads and the pear and Gorgonzola pizza. The Caesar salad serving was small. The beet salad was unspectacular. The pizza crust was soggy. The wine was very good. The service was excellent. The noise level was deafening... party at front table extremely loud and the noise carries. Unfortunately for us. We went for the food, so won’t be in a hurry to return.

There’s a reason Cilantro has been around so long. They don’t do a lot wrong. Our server was a bit slow getting us started without taking drink order for 25 minutes. Otherwise, everything was great.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. We had the Tempura Prawns and the Bourbon BBQ Bison pizza with creme brulee and peanut butter pie for dessert. Every bite was delicious - we will definitely be back!

We hadn't been to Cilantro for a while and were pleased to find the great food and nice people we always knew were there. And they have good no-alcohol beer which my dude likes, plus good wine for me!
And an incredible tempura prawn appetizer that we shared, but it was so good, I'm planning on going back and making that my meal, with some salad on the side. And Cilantro knows what to do with meat -- a filet mignon that was the perfect size and cooked perfectly medium-rare. AND braised bison short ribs. It's not an inexpensive place to eat, but the food's so good it's worth the $ it costs. I posted our dinner with pictures on our facebook page and lots of people visited. Weird, the only picture that will post is the filet mignon even though they're all under 5 MB. We finished with dessert -- a recommended banana cheesecake that was super good and a crème brulée that was also super good, and just the right size!
Booked a table for six for a birthday lunch and most of us picked the lunch special which included a side salad (spinach, very tasty), fettuccine (their homemade chorizo is awesome) and desert (peanut butter pie - yum), enjoyed some nice Italian red wine and then a cappuccino to complete the meal, everything was delicious and very full. The Christmas decorations are so pretty and the service was perfect.

Haven't been to Cilantro for a while, and it definitely won't be that long for my next visit. Amazing lunch - great service, outstanding fresh foods. Just a great experience (as always!). Had the Sea Scallops Risotto - was amazing.
Booked this a month in advance, when arrived we were taken upstairs to sit at the bar. It’s was not what we expected for a reservation a month in advance. The bartender was great but busy with serving the bar and drink orders from other tables . Was disappointed with the experience food was good. Problaby won’t be back or recommend as there is way better restaurants in the area
This is where we go for special occasions. Always. Of course, we go 'just because' as well. Never disappoints.

We met for a quiet lunch with good friends. The food was great, our server friendly and helpful, and of course, the ambiance made it extra special.
Our first visit to Cilantro and it will not be our last. This was a supreme experience. Our server was outstanding and made some great recommendations for us. I had the mussels for my appetizer and they were the best that I have ever had. They are served in a black bean sauce that is outstanding. I could eat that every day for the rest of my life. My wife had the caesar salad and it was perfectly dressed and the combination of fresh romaine and kale was extremely good. My main course was the bison short rib and it was excellent. Highly recommend Cilantro for any occasion.
