The server was amazing at explaining and recommending wine pairings for the amazing food. It was all so delicious as we were able to do the set menu. Sadly we heard they’re doing away with that in the New Year but we will still be back to try the normal entrees!
The staff were very friendly and actually knew how to pair a wine with the food. They all have a passion for food and made the experience quite enjoyable. I was there with my client before a hockey game and they knew how to read the table. The food was true to Northern Italy dishes and were prepared and plated to perfection. I will definitely return.

My wife and I visited Cinara for the first time (and as it turns out, the last - they are closing at the end of the month to "rebrand", according to our server) as a "pre-concert" date before the recent Joe Bonamassa show at the Queen E., and man, we were gobsmacked! Outstanding service, very nice wine list, inventive cocktails, and the food? Simply extraordinary. I had the chicken liver parfait with crostini and pickled vegetables for a starter, while my wife had the baccala (salt cod mixed with whipped potatoes), and both were divine; for our mains, we went with a lamb-stuffed pasta (can't recall the exact kind, honestly) and the duck two ways (roasted breast and a duck sausage, served with rapini and pearl barley) and again, both were excellent. The atmosphere was great, the service attentive but not overbearing - all around, it was a wonderful evening, and I will definitely go back when they reopen.
Our Saturday night dinner date at Cinara was simply awesome! I can't believe it took me this long to finally go...we plan to book in again in the coming weeks. Food, ambiance, energy and service were all exceptional!

We enjoyed our visit to Cinara, food was delicious and the service was excellent. The portions were surprisingly small, though. I ordered the torteloni and maybe a dozen pieces covered the bottom of the bowl. One dining partner had the Risotto which was similarly lean in quantity but delicious.
Our appetizer, house-made sourdough bread served with burrata in balsamic vinaiger and olive oil, was also fresh and delicious - oddly, the portion was decent and enough for the 3 of us.
My favourite restaurant in Vancouver and so sorry it is going to be changed to another format . Love the food, the server Chris and the ambiance as it is. .
This is an excellent restaurant with a top notch staff that serves fantastic food. We went for the Carte Blanch menu option with the wine pairings and it exceeded our high expectations.

Cinara is rated one of the best restaurants in downtown Vancouver for good reason. Our dining experience was outstanding! Top marks for: service (greeted at door & seated promptly, entire menu carefully and fully explained, wine suggestions spot on, food and beverages delivered in timely well-paced fashion) is top notch. Food that one must try: Chicken liver parfait (there's a good reason why it's universally recommended!) and Baccala for appies, and the signature Orretchiete Bolognese. Also delicious is Crespelle, a lighter pasta with tender chicken shredded, spinach and to die for chanterelles. We finished with a smooth, light yet decadent salted caramel "pie". We will be back again!
Always a pleasure to spend a night here. Fantastic food and drink, knowledgeable servers, comfortable.... what else is anyone looking for?

Disappointing. Not sure if the upcoming format/menu change is the reason, but the food was subpar, certainly not worth the prices. Ling cod in parchment over cooked and under seasoned. Pasta with a pork cheek “ragu” ($24) had OK flavour but no pork. Starters were just average. Place was packed so who knows, but there are just too many other great places doing a better version of this to go back. Service was excellent although even after relaying our disappointment in the meal to our server there was no adjustment or response from the house. Too bad, hope the revamp improves things.

Based on all of the dishes that came to our table, the kitchen staff is creative with their combinations, sensitive with their flavouring and proficient in their preparation.
Very surprised and disappointed that there was no soup available.....ever. Going into a wet, cold and rainy November in Vancouver without a comforting soup is like not having asparagus on the menu in May. If you promote yourself as offering a seasonal menu, then not only does that drive ingredients but also the offerings. While many consider soup as peasant food ....if you cook like a peasant......you eat like a king.
I had ling cod in parchment paper..one of the best meals I have ever had in Vancouver.

Everything was as we expected and then some... We return to Cinara often because we expect to enjoy top quality food & service... We’ve never been disappointed...

The food was incredible tasting and fresh. Service was so friendly and efficient. I loved how our server Scott was so passionate about telling us about the menu. The atmosphere was classy/casual, and I loved that the music was soft background and I could actually have a nice conversation with my date:)
Simply the best. Lucas and his team constantly impress us every time we dine at Cinara. It was a busy Friday night before a show at the Queen Elizabeth and we still received excellent service and the food was amazing. Cinara remains at the top of list of restaurants in Vancouver.
Would be nice to have a slightly cheaper wine option. Cheapest bottle is $55

Overall, their service was outstanding. Having said that, our appetizer and risotto were surprisingly salty... but they served us another main dish instead of that, it was really tasty.
Well located to Queen Elizabeth theatre. Agnolotti Pasta was delicious and homemade but could have been slightly larger portion....otherwise, all good.

The food was excellent. The service was good. Nice room. Only gripe is that the wine list needs to offer more local as well as "best kept secret" wines and not just high end Italian and French offerings. I understand that this is a continental style restaurant that has assembled a wine list to reflect that but having the bulk of the wines in the $100 to $300 plus range is a little over the top.
Great food, chill ambience.... but lively, so if your looking for a quiet place to enjoy a meal, maybe this is not your place. Seedy but hip location, Knowledgeable service staff, and a menu to satisfy the palet . We will return!!
