Inventive dishes as well as nice interpretation of classics . Beautiful collaboration of flavours. Excellent knowledgeable service. Very nice ambiance.
Excellent food and wonderful service
We enjoyed the tasting menu and really appreciated Christopher’s wine recommendation.
Great meal as always. Got wine paired by the half glass and full glass. Great service. Good times 👍
Excelente! Like always
Fantastic first time dining at Cinara. The menu offers options to suit most diners and yet manages to remain focused and precise. Lots of familiar favourites with just enough of a twist to make you intrigued. We devoured our food. Between the carpaccio, pastas, all the mains - everything was wonderful. Dishes were fancy but not fussy. Ingredients were honoured and flavours allowed to shine. Attentive, friendly, and unobtrusive service in a rather small, almost cozy dining room. No a/c so the fans were spinning strong and windows wide open, which slightly dampened the atmosphere.
Fab food, fab service.
Wine list needs work- the less expensive stuff is very mediocre and the better wines are marked up too much for everyday dining.
That said, the food was prepared with a very deft hand. Highly recommended. If the wine list was bettered it would be a definite 5/5
The service was phenomenal. Our waiter was very attentive with the many plate changes and wiping the table between dishes. The food is not your traditional Italian. It's a fusion and so delicious. I enjoyed appetizers the most.
Love this place...one of our favourite spots!
Cinara exceeded my expectations. Going in I knew the food would be excellent, given I love some of the head Chefs other restaurants in Vancouver. I was however a little nervous about the ambiance being in downtown Vancouver, and from photos it looked a little old. From the second we walked in though, it was not old at all, more so quaint but trendy at the same time with mix and match furniture, but so bright and airy. You also can’t tell you’re in Vancouver at all! I genuinely felt like we were in a little suburb of New York while dining here. Food was fantastic, just a tad bit on the pricey side for what you get. Next time I would get the 6 course Chefs tasting menu - the table beside us ordered it and it looked phenomenal (and great value!) All in all tremendous experience.
Had chef tasting very good loved the restaurant and all the dishes so good highly recommend
Cinara is a great place for a really good meal in a room with great ambience and first-class service. The food is exceptionally well prepared.
Everything was fantastic about the meal and experience except for the ventilation. The kitchen smells/smoke permeated the restaurant and our clothes. In fact there were moments when the air was smoky. We were thankful to be seated beside an open door.
Great food and good service, with creative food options and excellent value. But the noise level was so high we could not hear one another. A creative solution is needed
Outstanding experience - every time! Service is exceptional and food always unique!
Always welcoming and helpful, service is always great and food was spectacular
Amazing meal from start to finish. I highly recommend trying the Pork Neck and the Agnolotti.
We love Cinara -- fabulous food and friendly but not obsequious service, lovely atmosphere. But the wine prices -- yikes!!!
Loved the food it was outstandingly delicious. Dont care for the round tables that much, would be difficult ( too small) for 3..Servers had good knowledge of the dishes and the wines by the glass
An absolutely beautiful evening. Stellar service and thoughtfully created food. Loved the 6 course tasting menu. Looking forward to our return!
We were looking for a good Italian meal at a moderate price when visiting Vancouver, Canada. We were welcomed, including my guide dog.
Fantastic as always! Third time there in the last month.
We had an excellent evening. Wonderful food - so fresh and creative. The pork neck tonnato was divine as was the baccala on crostini, freshest asparagus and the bistecca fiorentino with delicious contorni shared by the 4 of us (loved the grilled cabbage dish!). Knowledgeable and amusingly friendly service that played well to our foursome. We'll be back!
I felt the portions were extremely small, the service was good and the room lovely, however I would not hurry back.
We had a wonderful dining experience thanks to Scott.
Phenomenal food, great service and a very warm and cozy atmosphere. One of Vancouver's hidden gems.
Fantastic food - authentic Italian, amazing flavours. Clearly created by an expert chef. Service top notch as well. Highly recommend to all!
Wonderful server who was accommodating and had great recommendations. The food quality and presentation were excellent!
Great staff...simple as that.
Great food and service
Delicious food in a hip downtown atmosphere. Conveniently located near the Queen Elizabeth Theatre for a pre show meal.
Service was friendly, attentive and ready with knowledge about the menu and advice about what to order. Food was delicious, everything was presented really well. The restaurant is cool, nice atmosphere and we found it perfect for a meal before heading to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre which is just a short walk away. All 6 of us said we would recommend and would visit again!
Nice room, great people watching, server was fantastic and the food was delish! The side stripe shrimp risotto was SO SO SO good. Plate presentation was lovely, everything well executed and perfectly seasoned. thinking of an excuse to head downtown for dinner again soon! Lots of hard surfaces so it does get quite noisy..... better out with friends then on a romantic night!
Great room, great vibe and great food - already told my pals to add to their lists
We have eaten at Cinara many times since it first opened. Two weeks ago, we ate at Autostrada for the first time and enjoyed it very much. Based on that good experience and good memories of Cinara, we decided to return to Cinara to celebrate a birthday. We made the reservation through Open Table, specifically mentioning that we were celebrating a birthday. We arrived to find the restaurant rather busy and were offered a table away from the draughty entrance.
So far, so good. We were presented with menus and a wine list and brought sparkling water , as we requested. Then, the waiter offered to explain the entire menu to us. We explained that wasn't necessary as we had encountered most of the dishes before. We did order a bottle of wine, which was brought to the table promptly. Unfortunately, the wine was corked. Knowing that a corked bottle is not the restaurant's fault, we ordered a second bottle of the same wine: it was perfect. The waiter then attempted once again to explain the menu to us. We again responded that it wasn't necessary and ordered. The first courses came out in good time. The baccala was irreproachable. The snails however were gritty and not hot enough. As we were celebrating, we didn't make a fuss and anticipated better things with the next dishes, the risotto and the tagliatelle. The risotto was very flavourful and a good portion. The tagliatelle was disappointing. I would have preferred an egg noodle and a more generous serving of reggiano. We next had a cheese course that was generous and served at just the right temperature. For dessert we had a very tasty salted caramel tart. We finished with espresso, paid and said good night. At no point, did anyone enquiry about the birthday we were celebrating. What is the point if a restaurant asks for that information through Open Table and doesn't act on it? We will return to Autostrada but it will be some time before we go back to Cinara.
Excellent service, informed and attentive. Creative, well prepared and well presented dishes.
Trendy spot with a good energy. Our server was very good and there were some creative and interesting options on the menu. The chicken liver appetizer was outstanding however some of our other choices did not work as well for us.
The wine list is somewhat limited but adequate.
-I always pass by while walking through the city and was curious but never really taken the time to go inside and see what the scene was like inside.
-Love how you can smell the scent of something really good cooking up while around West Pender.
-Looking for where to head to next, give this place a shot! You won't be disappointed.
-Menu changes daily like their sister restaurants.
-Interiors are rustic yet contemporary in design
