The Osteria at Cinghiale has the feel of an elegant tavern with white table-cloths and mahogany and leather banquettes. It features a large farm table for a special family-style dining experience.
The Enoteca at Cinghiale celebrates the modern Italian table. It is designed to be a playful section of the restaurant, as well as a gathering place. The space has a lively urban bustle that features rich woods, wrought iron chandeliers and a handcrafted marble tile floor. Adjacent to the main bar is a Salumeria that features traditional meats, cheeses and antipasti.
The menu is complimented by an over 500 label wine list that features Northern and Central Italian wines. World of Fine Wine magazine recognized Cinghiale for having one of the best wine lists in the world for 2016. Outdoor seating is available, weather permitting.
We went to Ginghiale during restaurant week and ordered the tasting menu with wine pairing. No complaints, food was excellent, as always.
From the moment we walked in and were greeted, we were treated very well. Spacing between the courses was not rushed and our server was exceptional. Highly recommend.
The restaurant was very nice, and the standout from the evening was the service. While the food was very good, it was not mind-blowing, and especially not so for the price. With Little Italy right around the corner, it seems a shame to pay so much for Italian when the quality of the experience is not that much better. It's a lovely restaurant, but we will not likely return.
Food was outstanding, service was great and ambience was very nice.
Great food and service, but small portions and quite pricey.
Our dinner was great. It was restaurant week do we got to try different foods and it was all good. We also did the wine pairing which was fun.
Our server, Valencia, couldn’t have have been more professional, amiable and accommodating. And as always the food did not disappoint. I just love going to Cinghale!
This is my fourth time going here. I come to Baltimore once a year for a trade show and our entire group wants to go here for at least one night.
Overpriced. Food was strictly average. Everything had too much oil or butter. No taste or spice in any food - very bland. Menu super complicated and servers not helpful. Even the recommended dishes which we ordered were horrible.
I don’t mind paying a high cost for good food and ambiance but the bottom line for any restaurant is good food which unfortunately at Cinghale was below average.
Very disappointed with our service. I spoke with the manager yesterday and explained the issues that we encountered and he said that someone would be in contact with me to discuss further. No one has contacted me back.
New Year's Eve bar seating was reserved so that we could order off of the bar menu rather than the New Year's Eve prix fix menu. The selections available were excellent and we especially liked the option of 1/2 vs full sized portions. Excellent cocktails-especially "the Chinghiale" and "the Chinghiale 75." Service was attentive, despite the busy evening crowd. The restaurant is lovely. We will definitely return!
We chose Cinghiale for New Year's Eve at a prix fixe of $99, excluding alcohol. The food was fine and the ambience was perfect for New Year's. The staff was reasonably friendly but overall the service was truly terrible. We were seated and waited for approximately 10 minutes until someone showed up at our table. We had to ask for water which took another 10 minutes to arrive. After that, our server completely disappeared. When she eventually returned, we ordered wine which finally appeared after salad and first course. Dessert never came. We finally went looking for someone so we could order dessert. A friendly woman took our order but said she didn't work at the restaurant and couldn't tell us anything about the desserts. It was obvious that Cinghiale's was ridiculously short-staffed so we don't completely blame our server who was somewhat short with us. When we were signing the check, she suddenly appeared and thanked us for being so patient. We felt like she was just doing that as we were deciding on the tip. The bill was $300 for two. This was an absurd amount to pay, given the service was not worthy of a Denny's. To top it off, the staff brought us the wrong coat and said that the fireworks were cancelled so we left a few minutes before midnight. Needless to say, they weren't and we heard them as we were heading up the JFX. Luckily the company we were with were great fun, the restaurant experience was anything but.
This was our 5 NYE there and it was the best by far. We had a warm welcome and our server was on top of everything. The food, like always was amazing. Thank you for a great night!
A very disappointing New Year's Eve meal. Spaghetti dish was tasteless. Other pasta dishes were overcooked and soggy. Meat and fish entrees were acceptable but not notable. Desserts were pedestrian. This is the third time we've been disappointed by Cinghiale and we will not be returning.
Went for New Years Eve... great food... service busy/quick but expected for New Years Eve.., will go again for full menu
NYE dinner did not disappoint.
Our drinks were wrong and one didn’t taste right. My husband’s gnocchi was extremely dense instead of a light pillow texture. The endive salad was overwhelmingly bitter.
My burrata salad and tajarin dish were amazing! Servers were attentive and polite!
I brought a visiting friend from the UK and everything from the moment we entered until the moment we left was perfect. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and the ambiance classic.
We booked an early table at the last minute during the weekend between Christmas and New Year's. They were gracious and welcoming. The restaurant was quieter than usual, leaving us more than the usual opportunity to enjoy the beautiful ambiance and attentive service. Among the dishes we ordered was a heavenly burrata and swordfish entree that managed to be refreshing and robustly flavored at the same time. I have dined at Cinghiale many times and find it a reliable "winner" for business dinners, family special occasions, and even last minute date-night (at the bar).
The service was poor and difficult to get anyone's attention.
Service was really bad. During the entire dinner, our server NOT once checked to ask whether the food was satisfactory, NOT once did our server refill our wine glasses. (We had to wave down other waiters to pour). At the end of dinner we were not asked if we want coffee or dessert.
Food was good, but overall I will NOT revisit, nor would I recommend this restaurant to friends or family.
The service and ambiance were wonderful as usual; however, the food seemed to have dropped a step, perhaps the pressure of a very busy evening.
Dined at Cinghiale on Christmas Eve for the Feast of the Seven Fishes. Excellent service and a novel presentation of the Feast. The Swedish fish on the panettone was amusing, the panettone itself was not up to the rest of the meal.
Used to have great food and good service. The last two visits have been very disappointing with slow service and undercooked pasta.
Cinghiale delivered, as usual. We were here to celebrate and we wanted a place we knew we could count on for a positive experience. The food was amazing and even more so was the service we received from Jimi.
Delicious fun great authentic Italian cuisine and wine. Service was top notch! Delicious and Fun evening.
Wonderful food and service.
Excellent Northern Italian focused fine dining. Service is impeccable. And great ambiance. The food is wonderfully prepared. I would suggest doing the wine pairing with each course, you can't go wrong.
We went to Cinghiale for a special occasion. Our daughters were in town for a brief visit before Christmas. It was a wonderful meal and the service was fabulous! One of our daughters has severe allergies, and our waiter worked with her to make sure that her food was just right. I highly recommend this restaurant!
This was our second birthday celebration this year. It's one of our new favorite specialty restaurants.
it was a great night with Friends and very good food.
I was dissapointed with our recent visit for dinner with friends. The pasta was overpriced and just okay. The ambiance was nice until they start to iron the table clothes at the tables next to us at about 10:00 PM. I would not be likely to return.
What a wonderful evening! My partner and I were married that very day and I chose this spot as the best place to celebrate. They did not disappoint. They were there to greet us and seated us in a sweet spot. The wait staff were extraordinary, the food was delectable and the entire evening was exactly what I wanted for this very special day. Thank you, we are so grateful. A memorable event!
We looked forward to our first visit to Cinghiale with great anticipation and we were not disappointed! Beautiful, warm atmosphere that proved to be the perfect spot to celebrate our oldest daughter turning 28! Initially was a bit overwhelmed by the extensive wine list and menu options, but our server was exceptionally well versed on all points and provided excellent guidance in helping us navigate both wine and menu options. Service and food were spectacular. To those who dare complain about the service, I would merely point out that food at establishments such as this is meant to be consumed in a way that really allows you to savor the experience in a manner that we, in this country too often fail to do. We thought the meal was beautifully paced and everything we ordered was thoroughly enjoyed. Wish our server, who was extremely professional, would have been a tad less rigid/formal with us. We realize the complexity and the intensity of serving at fine dining establishments such as this, and some may prefer that dynamic, but we tend to enjoy interacting with servers, and would have liked it if she had read our table in that regard. And that is not really a criticism, just a stylistic difference. We fully intend to visit again as there were too many things we didn't get to explore...something to look most forward to!
Had a wonderful meal, with excellent service. I couldn't ask for better restaurant setting.
Very cool decor and ambiance. Cheese board was great and bread was delicious. However service was very slow for how empty the restaurant was and main courses were very average for the price. I would give it a second chance only due to the fact that a good friend recommended and loves it there.
Love this place! We can't wait to return!
I had been looking forward to dinner at Cinghiale for quite some time - my friends and I were not disappointed. Cinghiale compares favorably with Italian restaurants in NYC and San Francisco. From the warm greeting by the staff to the presentation of our bill, the staff was courteous, professional and helpful. The carefully curated selection of wines by the glass and ½ glass allowed us to choose pairings of wines with each of our various courses. The depth of flavors in the cauliflower soup, my antipasto, was heightened by a salty bite of prosciutto, while the mushroom risotto yielded a richness of umami. Our main courses, Icelandic cod, duck and steak, benefitted greatly from the wine pairings suggested by our server. Although 70+ years of age, I still approach the selection of dessert with a child-like intensity worthy of a Senate Appropriation's Bill or a U.N. Treaty, I chose the tiramisu. It was truly a wonderful evening, one which I hope to repeat in the not to distant future.
Fantastic staff. Fabulous meal!!
