Against some reviews we found food good and excellent service. We were moved to a quieter table without us even asking when our waitress the bar noise next door was a little intrusive. Good choice of food and wine

We came here 14 years ago and didn’t pay for our meal it was so bad.
Not a lot has improves since then.
My steak was not a New York strip
Not cooked properly and kids meals can out 10 mins before ours.
Food was tasteless I would avoid at all costs
Great food, quality over quantity, great selection, although, the list of choises can be a little longer.
Dear LaviniaS, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your great review! We have passed along your comment to our culinary team and appreciate your feedback regarding our menu. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Cinnamon Bear Grille in the near future! Kind Regards, Danielle
The restaurant was very conveniently located and had reasonable seating times despite a busy long weekend crowd. The waiter was very personable and did a good job, but our main course was held up when the kitchen became overwhelmed by a very large order just before ours. The food was ok, but nothing stood out. The oysters and ceasar salad were fine. The steaks a bit grizzly, but properly cooked. There is little to no ambiance and the prices are way too high for what you get.
Really good service, super friendly staff but the food was only average. Nice warm rolls to start, crab cakes were good, plenty of crabmeat but under seasoned. I had seafood pasta which came smothered in Parmesan cheese. I would have preferred to be offered the cheese which I would have declined. Prices were reasonable, okay for a quick dinner out.
While our service person was very good, the kitchen was slow in getting our entrees out.
Good food, great location.
The server was not very friendly. I was given the 3 course menu and when I asked if she can give me the regular menu, she said the reservation stated only 3 course menu and the manager instructed her to give me just the 3 course menu. I was embarassed infront of my guests I did not want them to think I am limiting their choices. She could just have took the regular menu without saying anything. The place is not even busy so I don't understand her attitude. So bad I will not be coming back. Maybe that's the reason why there are only 3 tables of guests throughout the night.
The quality of the food it the spot for me. It was very delicious. However our server was not attentive at all and had i repeat myself a few times and the server did not describe the food at all. My guest was not impressed with the server but was very impressed with the food.
Service started off slow because there was only one server for entire restaurant but Nicholas made up for it as best he could. He was very friendly & helpful. Also Tim, the manager, was very attentive when we repeatedly had a problem with soda order coming from the bar.
The salmon was excellent as was the vegetable side that came with it. My granddaughter had the kids hot dog & fries & pronounced it the “best hot dog ever.” The other people in my party had the steak & said it was excellent.
Food was delicious BUT service so so slow, for our food and our drinks.
The location where you are sitting in the corridor of the Hilton is odd. Salmon and chicken over cooked.
Took a while for the food to come. The food wasn’t great when it did come.
We went to the Cinnamon Bear Grille for Valentine's Day dinner. We wanted something nicer than a burger joint but not too fancy and the Cinnamon Bear was the right compromise in between. The dining room was nice, pretty quiet considering the noisy bar next door, and the service was attentive and friendly. We started with the Mussels and Garlic, and my husband had the NY strip and I had the Salmon. All the dishes were good though none were particularly noteworthy; the mussels were big and juicy but could have used more garlic, the strip steak was well cooked but wasn't a great cut of meat, and my salmon was dry/overcooked. I did enjoy my homemade ginger and lime soda, and the cheesecake sundae we had for dessert was delicious. Overall I would say it was fine but nothing special.
Clean and friendly. Not too loud so good for large groups. Food is good but unadventurous and somewhat lacking in flavour.
Not good value for money. Way below my expectations.
The restaurant was nearly empty yet we were seated closest to the adjacent bar. The noise level from the pool players in the bar, complete with f bombs, was ridiculous. We left before eating. The prices were consistent with the better restaurants in Whistler but this looked like a motel breakfast area and the noise level made conversation impossible. When we pointed out the noise to the hostess showing us to our table she just shrugged and said, yeah they get pretty loud.
Very poor service. Food came after an hour and was barely edible. Very poor ambiance.
filet mignon and NY strip (it actually was a sirloin) were average, salmon was dry
potato gratin was good
ambiance was meh: very bright with full on pot lights and loud
service was very good !
Food good. Dining room somewhat unimpressive. Service was friendly but understaffed. Will come back but management needs to staff accordingly.
Food menu vastly reduced since last year. Dining room lacks any vibrancy. Most food was ok, some dishes not great.
This restaurant is in the Hilton hotel at Whistler. The food is very good and the service staff are excellent, attentive but not in your face.
Food was great and atmosphere was even better. Waiters were polite and attentive. A very nice experience for our family gathering.
Made a reservation for 9:45 but they didn’t have a table ready for us. Didn’t talk long for the table to get set for us but it seemed they didn’t have anyone’s reservations ready since there were a few other parties there. The food on the menu was good but the buffet wasn’t all that it came out to be
Great food pleasantly served quiet restaurant exceptionally good service
One word...terrible. I would never recommend anyone eat at this restaurant. Portions were extremely small and offered no value whatsoever. I left the restaurant wanting to find a pizza place to fill the empty void in my stomach.
If the idea was smaller portions to make it look like a high end restaurant, they failed. Paying $18 for an appetizer of two scallops that were smaller than a loonie started the evening. The risotto looked like a bowl of green porridge...and tasted about the same. The presentation looked like it was prepared by a thirteen year old who had just watched the food network.
There isn't a whole lot that can be said on the positive. I expected better.
The $39 3-course menu was exception value, hence the high rating. There are obviously much better options in Whistler if you are willing to pay more. Also the tables next to the window dividers between the bar & restaurant can get very noisy.
Stayed for a quick getaway at the hotel, This is the second time eating at the restaurant and the trio menu did not disappoint, great value for 3 full courses, the octopus was tender and flavourfull. My child had the kids menu it was also well priced and had lots of options. We asked for veggies instead of fries and this was not a problem. We finshed of the meal with the sundae it was fun treat. We will be back when it snows.
A good brunch spot inside the local Hilton. High end buffet ingredients (smoked salmon bar) with attentive staff. We ended up eating there two days in a row. Staff talked with my kids both days and remembered details about the conversation from the day before.
I was hesitant when booking this restaurant because of the previous negative Open Table reviews.
We were the second table to arrive for dinner. Upon arrival, our party of 9 was immediately acknowledged in a pleasant manner and shown to our table.
The servers were friendly and immediately presented our party with our menus and asked for our drink order. All our entrees came out at the same time in a timely manner. The meal was tasteful, fresh, and nicely presented.
I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment.
Reserved outdoor setting however when we arrived they seated us indoors even though there was room on the patio - when asked, the issue appeared that they did not want to bus the food out to us on the deck. Was downhill from there - inexperienced staff, poorly timed food (no one recieved food at the same time or even close), most dishes were great, a few misses (steak and kids burger), mistakes on the billing as server was that new/nervous and couldn't figure it out. Improvements needed.
Most of our group was served our food close together but there was a 10 min lull for the last person in our group to be served his dinner. There was only our table and 2 other tables and it was a set dinner so not sure what the hold up was. Good thing we all had appies! 3 course set dinner took over 2 hrs. Our server almost dropped (but luckily caught) dessert before it fell off her tray and onto a guest. Even though food tasted good, it didn’t make up for the service. Likely won’t be back.
The steak was fabulous. I had the trio and the scallops were very good. Also the service was very kind.
Nice food, sitting outside, good dinner.
Very accommodating for a table of 7 during a long weekend.
Great 3 course tasting menu. Delicious and a nice quiet setting on the patio. We really enjoyed the food. Great value.
