Cioppino's Mediterranean Grill
Service was stellar, as was the food. We were surprised it wasn’t busier, although we ate quite early (pre-show). It wasn’t even that busy when we left though. Mainly old people in there and tourists wearing grungy shorts.
The look of the room was pretty dated. I liked the darkness of the room but no matter how dim the lights are the ‘80’s terracotta is there. Lots of questionable art on the walls. The space could use an upgrade.
Food was fantastic. The ribeye was a dream! Can’t wait to go back. Wine list was deep too - and pricey.
Excellent meal with friends including one who is celiac (rare find among Italian restaurants).
The service was fantastic and the food was absolutely delightful. Hubby had a Beef dish with risotto. I had the fettuccine bolognese. We had a artichoke and tomatoes appetizer. The tomatoes were soaked in something yummy and amazing. Very tasty. We also had wine and dessert. ALL to die for. Ambience was super beautiful. Wood cabinetry full of wine bottles surrounding you.
Fantastic food - exceptional flavours and service excellence to match! A truly memorable dining experience.
Cioppino's never disappoints. Consistently delicious food with attentive but not obtrusive service. The lobster risotto is a must.
We have eaten here before with a better experience. Though we were among the first guests to arrive, teh hostess seated us in a high traffic area and when we asked to move to another table, she said she couldn't do it. The cocktails (other than martinis) were incredibly small. The wine list is huge but many bottles are priced at more than $1000!
It was our first night in Vancouver and we had read about Yaletown and this restaurant. It did not disappoint. We ate on the patio, enjoyed the vibrant scene of Yaletown and loved our dinner. The veal was outstanding. The wine list is impressive and knowledge of the waitstaff is impressive as well. Too bad I live in Virginia. I would go there once a week. Luckily we had a chance to experience a truly outstanding Vancouver restaurant.
Hats off to the owners and chefs.
It was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and our waiter was very helpful and attentive.
Expecting five star dining we were treated to good but not excellent. The staff were friendly and reasonably attentive (though not stellar), the overall price point for the meal was substantially higher than it warranted. Vancouver has a lot of five star restaurants to choose from.
Lovely dine out experience
perfect evening, great place to celebrate my wife's birthday , service was fantastic, food was amazing..
Cioppino’s has rapidly become our go-to destination for a special occasion. I love the specials featuring local in-season ingredients - we almost always end up ordering one or more of them instead of the menu items. As always, food was impeccable.
Excellent & our server Eden was great!
Great dinner and service as usual.
The service was great. The wine list is quite overwhelming, there is a lot of choice. The food was really good, the gnocchis were delicious and the ciopinno was pretty good too.
Our dinner was spectacular - the food, service and ambiance! Chef Pino is incredibly creative but even basics- if you call them that- are delicious as the ingredients are top quality. One of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time!
We had a great experience dining here. We were celebrating two special 13 year olds birthdays and they were invited into the kitchen to prepare their birthday desserts. It was a very special night. Thank you.
Celebrating a special occasion with a Sicilian wife and getting served by a waiter from Naples made the dinner particularly memorable. The food was excellent and the dessert was right on at the suggestion of the waiter. The delivery of a special birthday greeting pro bono by the restaurant added to the festiveness to the event. Well done on all accounts!
Best Italian meal we have ever had. The service was so on point and the food was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend
A wonderful experience everything was first rate. It would be my Number One Italian /Med restaurant in Vancouver and rated very highly in all Canada. The food was exceptional Carpaccio truly amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed the Pappardelle. The service was attentive but thankfully not too overpowering polite and friendly. I have been here in the past and delighted to stay the same high standards are consistent. Our thanks to Pino and the entire staff.
Family trip to Vancouver.
Our server was incredibly charming and the chef comped us a piece of birthday cake that was an artistic masterpiece. Food was great too.
Always a great meal
7:15 arrival, entrees at 9:05. Management did not apologize but explained how busy they were. We will ease that problem in the future. Food was very good.
We came here for our anniversary and it was amazing! The food was delicious and you get a decent amount of food for the price. The waiters were very attentive and the food was spaced out well enough so we didn’t feel like we were being rushed.
We would definitely come back!!
Fabulous dinner, one of the best in years. The level of service was extraordinary. After being moved away from a group of men swearing & talking really loudly, we had a quiet table. Ahhh. On to the DOCG Prosecco, a splurge but a fantastic wine. Paired with prosciutto and white asparagus. Then veal rib chop-so yummy. My wife had beef ribs in Barolo, also great. We enjoyed a second bottle of sparkling, as we were taking a cab home. Tiramisu for desert was excellent.
The owner helped make this a memorable evening with his gracious attitude. Grazie!
High end dining at its finest. Every course was exquisite. Dinner service was flawless. My expectations were very high. Cioppino's reputation is well deserved and exceeded my expectations.
Food is absolutely phenomenal. Service attentive and executed with precision. My family of four was impressed with all the appetizers, main dishes and desserts that we ordered. We will be back soon.
The food was outstanding with a terrific job done by the chefs, especially with the seafood (lobster, prawns and sable fish), and the gnocchi with the tasty sauce. The waiter was very efficient but rather condescending and not very good at reciting and repeating the hugely long specials list. My biggest criticism is the prices. $125 tip for the waiter, which was not really earned and $20 for parma ham on a plate with nothing else and $19 for a Caprese salad. The dinner for the four of us was $900!! We did have cocktails and two bottles of wine ($100 each for the wine). Not an expense we will repeat any time soon because of the cost. I also did not like the decor for that price-sitting on hard wooden chairs at ordinary tables without even a comfortable banquette or intimate booths. The decor should more accurately reflect that cost of the dining experience and be more luxurious and stylish.
Starting from our server Marion to the chef who wrote "Happy Birthday" on the complimentary dessert to the owner Pino and his brother, they are all friendly, approachable and treats their customers/patrons like family. This is not easy to achieve; well done!!
Our reservation was for 5pm and we ended up being the only guests in the restaurant for the first 45 minutes. It was amazing! The service was great and the food delicious. Such an amazing experience. We felt like the restaurant was ours for that short while. I highly recommend the foie gras appetizer, pappardelle with veal cheek and the lobster heaven. And please do yourself the favor of saving room for the lava cake at the end. The chef makes his own chocolate. What?! Worth it. We will definitely be back!
As usual we had a great time. The service was outstanding and they remembered us from the last time we came & also our preferences and needs. We loved the food and the wine.
We were here from Washington, DC for a work meeting. This was a recommendation from someone who lives in Vancouver. The dishes were delicious!
i dine out often and must say that Cioppino's is overall in top 3 restaurants in Vancouver.
Most certainly the best service in the city.
The food was absolutely wonderful! The only complaint that I would have is that our server could not recommend us any wines to go with our meal which I found disappointing since this restaurant values wine so highly.
Went here for my girlfriend’s 25th Birthday and it was amazing. The service was outstanding and the food was so good. Our waiter did not let our glasses of water go empty the entire night we were there, same with the bread. I will definitely come back again and gladly recommend this place to family and friends!
They also offered an extensive specials menu which we had pork that the chef spent 2.5 days making. It was the most delicious piece of pork I have ever had! I don’t normally take photos of my food but I took a picture of the pork :) The pasta dishes were all delicious and the staff were very knowledgeable with their menu. The chef also came out and spoke to the customers which was really nice. I would definitely go back and recommend the restaurant to my friends and family.
