   We had made a reservation but had to wait a little bit before we were seated (10-15). The server brought us Prosecco to apologize for the wait which was really nice. We ordered the beef cheek ravioli (always a favourite), as well as a salad and the grilled broccolini, all of it was delicious. One of my favourite spots in the city for sure! (not only for the food but also for the cocktails)

   Food is good and the space is nice and intimate. Covid partitions make it a little less inviting but that can’t be helped. One thing I noted is that the staff walk around and take your order with an iPad and it’s very impersonal. Both the host and the waitress didn’t look up from their iPad the entire time we were with them.

   Normally I don't leave reviews but I did want to save someone the trouble if they were on the fence about going. I think this place would be terrific for drinks, the bartenders are talented and it is a fun atmosphere. That being said the food is not fantastic and it took over an hour to receive our food. I ordered the sirloin and for a $32 meal the portion was disappointing. They also do not modify their menu so you are unable to alter your order. Overall not a terrible experience but would not go back for the dinner experience.

   I thought the food was excellent so were the drinks:) but if I’m Being honest it seemed unusually busy... so not sure if covid guidelines were being followed every table was occupied?

   We always enjoy Cleaver! It’s usually our go to place for dinner and drinks. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. And the service is always great!! Highly recommend it. Good food and amazing drinks.

    Food, drinks, service everything was fantastic! Great recommendations by our server! The food was delicious, we had the beef cheek ravioli, sirloin and the Brussels and shared. It was lovely! We can’t wait to go back!

    The choices we made seemed exceptionally salty including the polenta and short ribs. Way too much salt on all of our choices which took away from some of the flavour.

    Get together with friends before the holidays. The tables were dimmly lit, hard to read the menu in the dark and noise level made it extremely hard to hear anyone. Food was great and service as well.

    The noise level was the spoiler for our party of six and the reason we would not recommend it for a friend. You label that noise level as "energetic" so you probably think it's an attraction to have to shout to be heard across the table by your fellow diner. It's a pity, because we liked everything else about the Cleaver. And, yes, we're all over 60 ...

    All around fantastic restaurant! I have always loved Herbs and Rye and now the same restauranteurs have opened a great spot closer to home for me. My Ribeye was cooked perfectly and an amazing value. I had the whiskey potatoes as well and they were delicious. I am also pleased that the cocktail menu is so exceptional. I look forward to trying new cocktails every time I dine at Cleaver.

    OMG!!!!! The eggs Benedict was amazing, possibly the best hollandaise sauce in the city. The waitress Beth was a absolute gem, and no better way to start a Sunday than a mimosa. Top 3 brunch places in Calgary, probably number 1 will have to try another dish next time.

    Fantastic food, kitchen was a bit slow but was very full. The bar stools at the bar are to close to the wall and forces knees to strange angle if your tall. The host was able to move us to a high top instead. Overall very good experience would go back

    We were having a lovely time... until the ringing started. A rather unwelcoming and unfriendly man, whom I assume is the floor manager, would repeatedly ring (loudly) a small bell at the bar. When I asked the server what the deal was with that bell, she responded grimly that it is to let staff know there is something to pick up. It's a small place. They all have an ear piece in. The bell is overkill. We were going to stay for dinner, but we left after appetizers - because of the bell.

    Was overall an awesome experience! Menu is novel and fabulous. A little noisy and a little dark (reading menus with light from cellphone?) but absolutely worth a trip. Can’t wait to go back!

    We tried the happy hour which is well drinks only but there are half prices steaks and a couple appetizers. Very meat forward menu we shared a NY Strip the steak was cooked Med and perfect. Brussel sprouts and steak fries with a couple of well crafted cocktails. Good menu and the service was really excellent. Started to get really busy as we were leaving I’d recommend Reso.
