It was my wife and I first time being customers at Cluny. What a amazing time. Great service and great food and ambience. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and couldn’t have picked a better place to spend it. Just amazing. We will definitely come back again
The Coq Au Vin poutine was a delicious mix of comfort food and slow roasted Sunday dinner. The fresh bread selection was beyond amazing.
Brunch. Very Nice
Unbelievable experience. We went with high expectations, and were blown away. Great all around.
Food was perfect! We had frog
Les, sea urchin toast, boar and steak. Delicious food and the service was great.
Delicious food, french environment, lovely
Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. The appetizer and meals were great with fresh, unique flavors. We will definitely be back.
I've enjoyed eating at Cluny a number of times. Their staff have always been great, providing friendly, excellent service. And the food is inventive and tasty. My only knock this time was that it seemed very expensive for what we got. The Bittersweet Souffle was awesome and plentiful. However the mains were on the slight side for the price.
Cluny is one of our regular go-to place when in Toronto. Great ambience and food. Noise level is on the high side which is fine if you are looking for a place with an energetic vibe. Best French onion soup this side of Paradise.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit with out of town friends.
bench seats are horrible far too low for the table height. Liver was like shoe leather even though ordered medium rare.
Very nice lunch. We left very satisfied.
Loved the French Onion Soup. My cured tuna salad was tasteless. Would not order again.
Our server was outstanding and certainly made up for the salad. What an asset she is to your restaurant.
Service, ridiculously slow. Two seafood towers took an hour to come out. Waiter did not keep on top of the table. He rarely asked us for refill on drinks, did not communicate with us on the long wait times. Was not friendly at all. Very embarrassing as I brought out 8 people from the US to this dinner and could have chosen any restaurant in the location. Also the bill would have been far higher if the waiter asked us for refills on our alcoholic beverages instead of us continually having to flag him down. We went to another restaurant for after dinner drinks.
Wonderful server who left me and my friend to catch up. Best French onion soup in Toronto hands down, always come here when me and my friend want a decadent experience. Very relaxed and comfortable for a place with quite an upscale vibe
Was entertaining guests from out of town and they were thoroughly impressed with the ambiance the menu in the service. It was amazingly great choice.
As soon as you walk into this restaurant, you instantly find yourself in a Parisian bistro. The space welcomes you with a series of decor elements, which are quite impressive and overwhelming and the same time. Lots of seating space, spacious dining room + private party room (I believe so)
Cluny was our Sunday brunch destination. Food was pretty simple, yet delicious. Highly recommend 3-cheese omelette that comes with a lettuce salad (you may also ask to serve the salad dressing on a side, as it’s pretty creamy)
Favorite thing though - The breads & pastries section located right in the middle of the dining room. Really hard not to look at it and not wanting to steel few croissants and bread loafs (ok, maybe few dozens 😜)
Dessert - Salted caramel ice cream was impeccable. Hands down. One of the best ice creams we’ve ever tried. As well as macaroons.
Also, tableware is perfectly reflects “the spirit” of this place.
Overall, joie de vivre per say...
Good experience, don’t forget to get a mimosa if you’re brunching 🍾
Enjoyed a great brunch with friends. Very cool restaurant, loved the decor. Food was good and great service.
The food and service was great! It’s a little on the pricey side but good for once in a while!
I went for a Sunday Brunch, food was okay, nothing spectacular, nice ambience though.
We always go there and most of the times service is good , last Saturday we brought 4 of our friends there every thing was cool it was not crazy busy however our server was super nice but he did lack attention to the basic such as water bread cutlery just wasn't paying attention to us we asked for coffee and tea but I had to go get the coffee spoon my self from different table small issue but did upset our guests anyway no big deal for sure we will be back .
Great food and great atmosphere! Service was good. Great for dates.
I came for brunch with a few friends, after only previously visiting the restaurant once before for dinner several years ago. The meal started out well enough; our waitress was friendly, but it was busy so the service was a tad slow. The mimosas we ordered were pretty good. I had ordered the Florentine omelette, but specified that I did not want any ham. When the omelette arrived, I noticed on my second bite that it tasted strongly of ham. My friend, who is also vegetarian, noticed the same thing (independently, as I had shared some of mine with her before we dug in). When I alerted the waitress, she was very apologetic, and brought her manager over. He offered me a new omelette, and said they would have it ready in a few minutes. It was prepared fairly quickly, but by then the rest of my party was basically done eating. When the omelette arrived it came with the wrong side, as I had ordered the frites and it showed up with salad. When the check arrived, I was surprised to see that the restaurant had charged me for everything we ordered, including my omelette which of been made improperly. In speaking to the manager, after paying my bill, he advised me that the chef had opened up the omelette, and there was no ham inside, and
that was why they hadn’t even comped our coffee. Essentially, I was left with the impression that my friend and I were both liars, and that we had no idea what we were talking about. The second omelette tasted completely fine, so there was clearly something wrong with the first one. There was either cross contamination from pans or utensils, or some other explanation. For someone in the hospitality industry to refute the experience of a customer is pretty surprising. This is not about the money at all. This is about the fact that this establishment fed a strict vegetarian a meal tainted with ham, and all that was offered in return was a replacement that came late. I won’t be back.
The ambiance of this place is great. You walk into a little piece of Paris when you enter the front doors. Once seated, you realize there is no bad seating in this place. Service is impeccable here every single time. This is not a place for a quick meal, you come here to dine out and make it a night, and an experience. I've actually only been for brunch, and each time it is a 2 hour commitment, and I love every minute of it. Be sure to order the plate of pastries while you sip on delicious coffee and patiently wait for your main.
Food was absolutely wonderful!!! Unique menu although it covers the likes of everyone!
Have been to the place several times before. The food is good as always. The seafood tower is great, everything is so fresh. The waiter who saved us must have a bad day since there is no smile on his face, avoid eye contact, didn't come by and ask how we were doing. There are 5 of us at the table, the 3 times that he came by during the 2.5 hours to refill water, he always missed one of us for no reason and we need to ask him to refill. Most of the time he's not around the area. If he serves the table in the same area but doesn't bother to look over and check on us if we need something. Worst service received. Had to explain to our friends that it's unusual and usually much better.
First time there and food was amazing!!!!! Waiter was awesome and made sure everyone was well taken care of, it was really next level service. Will be back soon was a great time
First time in this restaurant . Loved the food, service and the ambiance. Good selection of wines. Will definitely go back.
The steak and egg were very small for the value. The coffee and bread were awesome and the Waiter was fantastic.
Really had a great time. Food was excellent and service was attentive without feeling that rush to turn over the table. I and my dinner colleagues would recommend it.
The vegetarian soufflé was impeccable. So fluffy, and moist with a salty fired ricotta top. The bread to start was phenomenal. So chewy and flavourful! Very lovely decor and ambience. The service was very quick but it was apparent that we had visited during the rush. Overall a very fantastic meal!
Love this place! The food is fantastic and the decor is beautiful. The staff are always friendly, courteous and service is excellent. I definitely recommend to anyone :)
We arrived 11:35am ergo it was empty . We wanted to do breakfast. Since its a french cuisine and there is a boulangerie -patisserie from the same restaurant inside, we thought we could get some pastries. We couldn't. The restaurant itself doesn't have them on weekdays and if you want to buy some at their shop at the entrance. The server told us there was a $3 extra per pastry. Just to eat them at the table. We were going to order food as well. We just wanted pastries for our lattes as an entree. We found it ridiculous. So don't expect to have a croissant with your cafe au-lait on CLUNY on weekdays.
Excellent service. Food as well, except for the excessive use of salt and garlick. A tad less would be outstanding.
Wild boar is a smaller dish that we hoped.
Service was decent.
The server wasn't very friendly or attentive. food took a long time to come out.
A beautiful, opulent and grand restaurant in the heart of the Distillery District. Felt like walking into a restaurant in Paris. The bread selection from the in-house boulangerie is out of this world. Fresh, moist bread with a great selection...bread-lovers, it doesn't get much better! The mushroom benedict however lacked flavour and the mayonnaise that accompanied the fries was tasteless. I had high expectations based on the beauty of the restaurant but sadly, my meal missed the mark...thankfully I filled up on the bread.
This was not my first time a Cluny. I love the atmosphere, that feeling of a French bistro. The food is outstanding, the breads are amazing. I was disappointed with the speed at which our main course arrived. It took a very long time. I think something happened to it along the way.
The pricing is fairly steep, even for good food. Onion soup is $18.00 and the Eggs, Sausage, bacon and bean breakfast is $32.
Overall I enjoyed it and will return.
Sunday brunch, good food, great pastry, beautiful decor.
Our server was amazing!!! Made my daughter feel so welcome and special. Thank you!
