This is our Sunday brunch everytime we are in Toronto
Not what we remebered. I believe they changed the menu and the food was quite bland. It will take a very long time for us to go back.
Wonderful place for a special evening. Service was amazing and the food was delicious
We enjoyed our night, food was amazing, tasty, highly presentable in generous portions.
Very expensive but they have the best French onion soup in To. Can’t afford to order much else but don’t really need to.
Great atmosphere! The meal was excellent. Perfect for casual dining. We will be going back!!
My favorite restaurant in the city! Great service and atmosphere! Amazing bread.. Oysters and Tuna! I'll be back again next week!
It was a great experience and really lovely ambiance and dining. The sausage and French onion soup were a little salty, but, overall really fantastic experience and will definately be back! Our server was Kyra, she was professional, very polite and accomodating. Thanks to all at Cluny for making this a memorable experience! Will definitely be back!
AMAZING meal, tried the frog legs and they were outstanding!! The seafood tower was super fresh and a real treat, and they even surprised me with a birthday dessert! Wonderful evening, and the staff was incredible too.
Three of us shared 3 appetizers and 3 entree, all were pretty good and portions were quite substantial. Notable mentions are the entree Sable fish, skin was nicely crisp, very delicious; and the octopus. Tender and juicy, and the octopus was ginormous. About 3 times larger than what we expected given the location. Would certainly visit Cluny again when we go to the Distillery district.
Loved the food and ambiance was perfect!
This is my second visit to Cluny's Bistro for Brunch and both experiences were delightful! On my First visit I tried the BAKED VANILLA & CHOCOLATE FRENCH TOAST and on my seocnd visit the FLORENTINE OMLETTE - highly reccomend both. The staff were very accomodating as I do not eat Ham. The serivce was fantastic both times.
P.S. If you are a instagrammer then you will love the insta gram worthy food and decor!
Awesome care and attention!
Our evening at Cluny's was very enjoyable. It was a birthday celebration for my friend. We were both very pleased with the service, the food and the atmosphere. We were delighted to receive an additional dessert as a recognition of my friend's birthday. We will certainly visit Cluny's again in the future.
We had a great time at cluny' bistro! It was our first time there and we absolutely loved the ambiance. The decor is so elegant yet comfortable. The music was perfect for the place. The menu has a nice selection of items that make you want to try something new (the frog legs were delicious!)
The service was great! Our server Mark was extremely likeable- friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive! Can't wait to visit again!
I arrived before my guests so I had a drink at the lounge while waiting. Amazing ambiance at that lounge, the cocktail list is so interesting, really worth looking into it. Excellent service by the woman at the bar, just enough intrusive very professional.
For the food I took the beef tartare and the monkfish in the main dining room, food is as good as the drinks. Quiet night but exceptional service. Makes me feel very welcome in a warm atmosphere.
Not the first and defenetivly not the last time at Cluny.
Overpriced. The food was okay, nothing special. The desert was not good at all. Probably won’t come back
Nice ambiance , good food , expanded menu would be a plus.
We were used to getting warm bread which we did not get and butter was very hard portobello mushrooms leather like water took long time as did check
Nice place good food and beers in particular I suggest seafood.
Definitely in the top 5 meal I’ve ever had. I don’t usually eat fried foods but we tried the salt cod donuts and wow! Amazing. Spicy salmon tartar, fantastic. For mains we had the octopus and hanger steak. Both amazing. I can’t stop raving about this place. Excellent value as well! Our whole meal and bottle of wine was $160!
We came for my birthday and my grandson at first thought it was "too fancy". But once he rec'd his steak and eggs, he was hooked. Our family celebration hit all the right notes and my grandson even thought it would be a nice place to bring a date to impress! And he's only 13!
Wonderful spot for lunch before Soulpepper! Best onion soup ever.
I brought my mother and sister here for brunch to celebrate my mom’s 62nd birthday. From the moment we sat down, we were greeted by our waiter Ken who was a ROCKSTAR! The coffee, pastries and food came quickly and were very fresh. And, as a thoughtful gesture at the end of our meal, Ken brought out French macaroons with Happy Birthday written on the plate. Such a lovely touch!
Outstanding food! Can’t think of a better place for a special occasion. This going to be our new family favourite.
good food, good service. Octopus was great. The bread is very tasty
Beautiful place; from front to dining area to restroom. Delicious food (Clunys French onion soup is a must), and great service. It does kind of feels like you're in a little town in France for a while. Remember to stopping by at the boulangerie before heads back!
Despite being only 1/4 full our group of 4 was put at a horrible table at the back beside the bathroom
We asked to be moved which they did
My food was dreadful , Caesar salad that had been in the freezer, frozen egg and bitter white romaine hearts... something you’d find in a cheap buffet.
My medium rare steak was minuscule, almost unchewable and the cow was still alive ... not worth the $30 price point at all
Our server AJ was civil at first, ignored me then was brusque/rude in the middle, then recovered to be just civil. Not what I expect at Cluny
I used to adore this restaurant when it was new and vibrant, sounds like it has lost its spark
Food here is consistently great, seevice is fast, friendly and knowledgeable. Thw Old Fashioned was a little sweeter than I like but that's the limit of any negatives.
Server was slow and inattentive. Burger had to be return as it was raw.
Had to request bread for the table
It took forever to get the bill
Server was extremely slow and inattentive. Hamburger came out red and bloody while steak came out burnt (had asked for medium). Waited 20 minutes for a steak knife to be brought to table. Ordered a bottle of Sancerre as soon as we got there and it was brought to us after the main course was served. I don’t mind paying high prices for good food and service but this place has just gone downhill. We were 5 adults and 3 kids and our bill was close to $700. We have dined here many times but after this experience We certainly won’t be back.
Brunch menu is great. Pastries are awesome. Get the french press coffee instead of the Americano.
Great restaurant, food was great and beautifully plated, portions were a little on the small side but seemed to fill everyone for our brunch.
Really impressed with the service. Ambience is great although it gets noisy in peak hours. Food was really tasty with some unique ingredients being used. Overall 5/5!
Food wasn’t great and service was poor with no attention to customers
I love this place every time we go here. Food and service is always top notch. Ambiance is extremely romantic and very chic. I was sad to see that my favourite dessert: profiteroles with hazelnut was no longer being served. I really hope that they bring that back!
Great breakfast and always a good atmosphere.
Love! Love! Love this restaurant. Décor very warm and elegant. Good space between tables, cocktails are festive and that French onion soup is to die for!!
The restaurant itself is very well designed and has a great ambiance. I went on a Tuesday night so it was not too busy and was a great space to have a conversation. The service leaves much to be desired. Upon being seated, our waiter only managed to show up after 15-20 minutes. Another waiter assisted us with water after noticing that we weren't being attended to after 10 minutes upon seating. In total, I probably saw our waiter 3 times, once to take our orders, another time to fill us water, and then finally to pay. Given the lack of service, it's not really justifiable to ask your customers to pay 16-20% tip (this is indicated on the receipt). I would note this was a Tuesday night, so the restaurant itself was not busy at all. There were several waiters also present but they weren't our designated waiter. Perhaps the restaurant should reconsider how they allocate waiters as other waiters seemed to be more attentive and helpful than our designated one. Also, when the waiter did manage to come by to fill our water glasses, he spilled a big splash of water on my gloves which were placed on the table. I would not really fault him for this, but the lack of attention to detail in a restaurant that commands "fine-dining" prices is not acceptable. Any other waiter at a similar establishment would know to get a towel to wipe this up. Overall, the service is very underwhelming. As for the food, it was acceptable but at this price point there are many other better options in Toronto. I suppose this is pricing for tourists as the restaurant is located in the Distillery.
This was my first time to dine in this restaurant. I have tried their bakery shop before. The lamb chops were cold when it was served on the table. The lamb look quite red to me. I personally like it to be well done. However I have not been asked how do I want for the lamb. And there is an interesting reminder on the bill “Gratuity is 16%-25% in Ontario”.
