Lovely place to eat, fantastic location. We’ve previously enjoyed eating here, but have to admit the quality of the food has declined. We got gnocchi and French onion soup, both of which were fine. Not great, but fine. We also ordered the tuna, which was bad. No seasoning at all, so the entire dish just tasted like the olive oil it was swimming in. I normally love seared tuna so this was a big disappointment.

We took a couple clients to Cluny for an informal early holiday season lunch and it was a fantastic choice. The staff were warm and friendly and the food was fresh and brilliantly prepared and presented.

While a tad pricey (two people, 2 mimosas, 3 lattes an app and 2 mains for brunch $170) the food was terrific and the atmosphere and experience were exactly what was hoped for. Great service from the hostess stand to the farewell.

I always love this place. I decided to take my friend there who came to Toronto for a couple days only. This was my third time having brunch in Cluny. Food quality was great as usual. The only disappointment was the delicious pastries where discontinued. A big part of the reason people go there for brunch is the fresh and delicious pastries. I will still go back there for dinner. But not for brunch. And I still recommend this place to my friends and family.

We have visited Cluny over the years several times and have always been happy with service, food and atmosphere. Yesterday’s visit was nothing short of a disaster from start to finish. The server was aloof and borderline rude. The greeting he offered our table was rushed, he offered us water but not drinks. He took our order after we were seated over 20+ minutes and then, once prompted, brought us drinks upon our request after we had been seated for over half an hour. Half of our main meals were served cold and the other half were wrong. We weren’t given steak knives so the people who did have meals couldn’t eat and our server disappeared. The chopped chicken salad was inedible. Once the rails fell off, our server never re visited our table, the issues were never rectified and our glasses were left empty. The manager did visit and was apologetic but didn’t fix the issues. At this point everyone avoided our table, so we felt hostage at our table and couldn’t leave once we were done “eating”. To be clear, no one in fact ate any of their meals and we all left hungry. The meal was comped, but that was not our intent. Our intent was to visit Cluny, have a delicious and thoughtful experience and leave to enjoy the Holiday market. Disappointment after disappointment and as someone who has worked in the high end restaurant industry for over 20+ years, unacceptable. There were many opportunities throughout our visit to rectify the issues, and none were taken. It is because of experiences like these that people have lost faith in the service industry. If you want people to embrace the industry again, the effort and level of attention to detail must be there. We left feeling like all members of the staff- from the server, to the food runners to the kitchen staff who were obviously talking about our table and pointing, to the manager simply didn’t care or know how to preform their roles effectively.

Our dining experience was impacted by what appeared to be a lack of adequate training for our server. After serving our meal, the waiter promptly left the area, necessitating our request for steak knives and spoons from another staff member to facilitate sharing the meal. The waiter returned towards the end of our meal. Additionally, when inquired about the bread selection from the central bread table, he was unable to provide information. This aspect of the service did not meet our expectations for a seamless dining experience.

We had a really good dinner at Cluny. Not only did their food but their service stood out as well! It was the tree lighting night in the distillery so they were kind enough to hold the table as we got delayed finding parking. Then the food recommendations provided by our server were on point. We were going to go watch a show across the street post dinner and he ensured we got out in time. Finally, I left my wallet behind at the restaurant and they were incredibly courteous in finding us at the show venue to return the wallet. All around incredible experience.

Excellent french onion soup, enjoyable beef cheek tartine. But black cod with Thai sauce wasn’t enjoyable, flavour combination just didn’t work for us. Monkfish was just ok. Restaurant itself is beautiful, good music, friendly service. Little pricey for the quality of food served, but it still remains one of our top choices for special occasions.

We took a group of executives here for dinner and we all really enjoyed our evening! The food was delicious. 4 of us had the monk fish, it was spectacular. Two had the steak frites, and one had the porkchop. Everyone loved their meals, portions were decent. The wine list was a tad expensive, but we did really enjoy the wine we ordered. Service was wonderful. Decor and atmosphere were beautiful. Thank you!

Our server was the highlight of our meal, which was otherwise quite bland, and included a piece of what was supposed to be lightly seared tuna that was so overcooked I literally thought I’d been accidentally served a different piece of fish. Our server was gracious about it and as quickly as possible facilitated a new plate for me, but although this piece was identifiable as tuna (pink on the inside instead of white all the way through with the texture of something you’d get in a can), it was still largely flavourless. Given the pricepoint it expected much better. All in all, an extremely disappointing way to spend our anniversary.

Last evening I was there for my daughters graduation. We had some issues with our food, bugs was identified specifically in my food. One of my daughters food was too spicy. In saying this the waiter took care of us and so did the restaurant. Our evening was not hampered by this experience.

Cluny is beautifully decorated with kind and professional staff. However, their brunch in my opinion is overpriced. The freshly squeezed orange juice was $7 and it was in fact not freshly squeezed- Tropicana is slay but don’t charge those prices for grocery store oj! I would recommend going there for dinner!

We were the second table seated for brunch but waited 30 minutes to be served our food. It arrived luke warm at best and our server, who seemed disinterested, told us that is they way they serve their lobster Hess Benny. Very hard to believe. This was our third and final attempt to have an enjoyable time at this restaurant. We have been very disappointed in both the quality of the food and the service we received each time regardless of the time of day. I would give this establishment zero stars if it was possible. With so many other choices available for brunch, this is a place to avoid. On a positive note, the takeout bakery is excellent!

We have dined at Cluny several times and we have never been disappointed. This was no exception. Our waitress, Caroline, was very attentive, knowledgeable and personable. The food arrived quickly, about 10 minutes after we ordered. Everything was well presented and delicious. Caroline found the time to check on us periodically to make sure that everything was okay even though she was busy with many other patrons. She also noticed our interest in the raspberry jam and garlic and rosemary focaccia. She spoke to the employees at the boulangerie and made sure that they would save at least one package of focaccia for us. When we went there, the focaccia was ready for us and we also selected one jar of homemade jam. We were treated like royalty throughout the whole time we were there.

The best part of my dinner at Cluny was the attentive and friendly server and the wine we selected. I didn’t love the eggplant entre but my sister really enjoyed her cod entre. I found it to be rather noisy, maybe because it was a busy Friday evening. I appreciated the vibe and decor plus it’s always fun to eat in the Distillery district for a change.

The room is very nicely appointed, elegant but comfortably casual. The banquets are quite low and the server provided a cushion to raise me to a slightly higher position so my chin was not on the table! The server was very attentive without hovering. The small plate of mushroom tartine was fabulous! Served on three slices of good bread toasted, there was ample for two as an appetizer. The aubergine tagine was a vegetarian delicious choice for a main. We opted for one dessert to share - we barely had room- but it was extraordinary, miel d’amour - described in the menu as mascarpone cream, almond sponge cake, sea buck thorn gel, honey comb buckwheat crumble, frozen yogurt, honey cotton candy, bee pollen. With an app, 2 entrees, dessert and wine the meal was about $150, with superb service, food and ambience.

Everything at Cluny was delicious!!! The cocktails were interesting and tasty. The bread basket is a must try! We had seats near the bread station, and I loved watching the servers prefer the individual baskets to go out to the tables. The steak and frites were cooked to perfection, and the accompaniments were a lovely addition. I would highly recommend this place!
