Also, home to adjacent pâtisserie/café with house-made fresh baked breads, cheeses, preserves, sandwiches, pastries, fresh juices, and more!
Perfect lunch. Great for a corporate meeting.
Authentic French Bistro ambiance. Menu was restricted in that few vegetarian options. Meat could not
be excluded from any items. The pastries were amazing.
Great atmosphere. Beautiful decor and delicious food.
We'd been before when it first opened and it was terrific, but now? Not so much. Our server was far too busy to serve us properly. He forgot to mention the specials, took forever to take our order, was slow to asking us if we wanted more drinks, didn't check on our meals, stuff like that. My meal was meh.I will warn you, I ordered cheese fondue and it turned out to be greasy tempura cheese and veggies. The prices are steep, which I really don't mid paying if the food and service are worth it.
Wasn’t overly impressed with the food, but our service was very attentive.
I have enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but my husband and I were very disappointed with this visit. The food was mediocre, the waiter rarely came over, and the tables were so close together it was embarrassing when you have to squeeze through to go to the bathroom. Lots of better restaurants in the city. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere
This place is stunning. I would return again just for the ambiance, especially in the summer to sit outside. The food was just okay. It bothered me that the food came out a little too fast, didn’t feel fresh. It felt like they had the dishes ready and heated quickly in the microwave. We ordered mostly shareable dishes, so I can’t speak for their main course meals.
Open table puts your rating at 4stars even if you've rated the company at 1 star. Do not trust open table reviews.
Interesting well made dishes. Soufflés were great. Noire “squid ink” unexpected though. Service from Rachel was fantastic. Patio and restaurant is just lovely. Highly recommend.
Great all round service
While not perfect (but let’s be serious, what really is) my dinner at Cluny’s became one of my favorite dining experience in Toronto so far. Great decor both in the lounge and the dining room section for any occasions.
In terms of food I didn’t find the onion soup too salty as mentioned in some of the other reviews, it was thick with cheese and I throughly enjoyed it. The seared foie gras was pretty good and the osyters were serviceable. For mains, I ordered the pork belly and enjoyed everything from the sauce to the sides, the pork belly wasn’t the typical fatty thick texture you’d expect so it was a pleasant surprise. For dessert I ordered the soufflé, while good, the passion fruit sauce was a tad bit too sweet for my taste.
Would definitely return to try out their seafood. I’d recommend Cluny to friends looking for a good night with welcoming service and great food.
Had a Wonderful time. Friendly attentive staff. Great menu knowledge, and recommendations. Great food. Server took great care, and was patient with us asking a lot of questions. They even have a kids menu which was a nice touch I was not expecting. Highly recommend. Bit pricey for some people, but I feel you get what you pay for here, Amazing food and thoughtful service.
Always a pleasure, great ambiance, good food, wine choices and service. The food is often under seasoned so it is a good idea to ask for a salt grinder when you order. The patio is nicely heated for the days ahead.
But that day was a total disappointment: the omelette du jour was watery could not taste or see any bacon and whatever the omelette was filled with, I left on the plate as it was
tasteless not appetizing slimy and almost cold. Seemed like it was prepared for a while and warmed up to be served just like airplane food. Not up to your usual standards, Cluny.
Fantastic ambiance with such a great team of managers and servers.
great atmosphere and great food.
Even though we were given the sacrifice table by the wait staff station when the restaurant was not full, the server was great, food outstanding and lovely room.
Cluny is a staple in Distillery district. We were pleasantly surprised when they brought back the Pork Chop T-bone. However, when we ordered it, it was just like a normal pork chop, not even sure if there is a T-bone. When we first had the T-bone Pork Chop couple of years ago, it came with an insane bone that is similar to a pork chop so this time it was definitely disappointing. Imagine paying $30 for one piece of pork chop, which is extreme to say the least. The service was not any better, our server was very busy and hardly had time to speak with us at all. He never brought us water when asked and it felt like he wanted to be anywhere else but serving us. Neither service or food was great. We did enjoy the fries like always.
Great service and food! A party of 5 ladies, drinks were promptly served and food was tasty!
Amazing food, great service and atmosphere. 1st experience with Frogs Legs was memorable and scrumptious 💋
Lovely restaurant space with excellent service however, we were concerned to see 3 mice running around in your patio area...
The service was poor and atmosphere noisy. The food was mediocre and overpriced. Definitely never going back.
The meal, ambience and service was outstanding...will definitely come again.
Great food, great service. We had excellent wine suggestions from our server, who was very friendly and attentive. The hanger steak was excellent.
Amazing. The food, service and ambiance. A new favourite go to.
Poor service and several mice were in the patio. Management said they can not control the mice. Wrong and disappointed answer...
Great atmosphere and ambience. Quaint French bistro in Distillery, where the food was excellent and the service was great!
A lovely spot and so convenient for Soulpepper performances. My only regret is the noise level which is high, but we enjoyed our time there, nevertheless.
PERFECT! Service drinks food! The place is beautiful and the energy is amazing! Will be back for sure
Great service and the food was excellent, my second visit and again a complete delight. Complexity of the flavours and presentation is very important to this place, they excel at both! Don’t go with the intent of having huge portions, it’s not about about quantity but quality - portion size is sufficient, take time and enjoy the food. Highly recommended!
Cluny's over-the-top French inspired interiors used to be matched by the food, which was --not Michelin star but decent. That was two years ago. Fast forward to now & the food is actually forgettable - at least the food our table had. Poutine with coq-a-vin chicken resulted in soggy frites served under very stringy cheese and boiled chicken - neither appetizing nor tasty. Mushroom toast was another disappointment - boiled - not sauteed, or maybe sauteed-long-time-ago basic button mushrooms - devoid of herbs and flavour. After having had these two appetizers, we decided to leave & try our eating fortunes elsewhere in the Distillery.
Our order arrived at the table very promptly. So promptly in fact as to suggest it had been prepared ahead of time and was sitting around waiting for someone to order it. My eggs benny was barely warm as were the frites. My companion's Caesar salad was very heavily peppered.
We had a poor experience there a few months ago and decided to see if it was a one off. Turns out it wasn't.
Sorry, Cluny but your're over-rated.
Great place for brunch and tasty food
Great food and wine selection. Atmosphere is absolutely divine with gorgeous decor.
Usually our go to place in the Distillery- today: First time I felt like I was in a tourist trap in my own city. Everyone can be off their game; missed the usual attention to detail and client care this time.
Food was disappointing
Service was knowledgeable and very strong
Easy access to Soulpepper
I found the Caesar salad to have an exorbitant amount of vinegar. We couldn't finish it. The French onion soup was yummy but very small considering the price point. I asked for the leftover Bayou Bites to take home and our server took them off the table but didn't pack them up for me. I didn't bother saying anything as a different server settled our account. All in all I was disappointed. The venue looks beautiful and the ambiance is impressive but the food and service was subpar. When a bird pooped in my water, it was the piece de resistance, haha.
the place is hopping even at 6:30 when we arrived for a pre- theatre meal.
there were several groups of diners... 10 to 12 per group.
nevertheless, our fabulous waiter MARK managed to drift seamlessly between his assigned tables, not missing a beat.
He was upbeat and very helpful . He was the best thing about the experience, to be honest.
the food was fine, for the price, and even though we asked for a quiet corner in the reservation, when we got there, we were told that it was 'open concept, so that we could not be accommodated.
When i suggested a spot in a corner by the back wall, they quickly obliged.
It can't be the first time that they had this request.
My second time at this restaurant and it was as great as the last visit. I must commend the staff and management here for the top notch service they consistently provide. My partner and I dine out quite often in many good restaurants in Toronto and I have yet to find something to harp on while dining here. Food and service were both excellent, not too pretentious. One of the many things we love to do is people watch as we’ve both had stints as waiters back in our college days. Everyone seemed to work together, while the barkeep (had an accent) was mainly looking after us, there were 2 or 3 others that regularly kept our table clean or offered us more wine when we ran low. That is a good sign of any good establishment. Thanks again for the lovely evening. We’ll definitely return.
