A must for dinner while in Vancouver! Fresh seafood prepared perfectly and the staff’s attentiveness and recommendations went above and beyond expectations. I’ll definitely return next visit westward and highly recommend.
This is a great place to have Sunday Brunch. The only caveat was that This time the smoked salmon eggs Benedict were all cold. The others didn’t mind but I like my food hot. The one with the chorizo was okay according to the person who ate it.
Service was good as always. Our brunches weren't the best though. The avocado toast was just a smear of avocado on square white supermarket bread which is a joke in a restaurant such as this. However earlier that week I had an excellent lunch there.
That's always the problem with Coast: it's very hit and miss.
Excellent brunch and menu with reasonable prices
Attentive service and well executed food.
Went to coast With a large crowed for a celebration. The food was delicious the ambience was lovely. The staff were very attentive, made sure water was filled and napkins were in order, but not very warm and engaging.
I’ve been to Yew and Botinist and the staff there we’re just super friendly and, engaging and overall happy. For example when I went to Botsnist I mentioned it was for an anniversary, upon arrival they wished us a happy anniversary. Small detail but was greatly appreciated. I informed Cost about the occasion so it would have been nice for them to acknowledge it. At Yew I told the waiter I was an oyster virgin and he said don’t you worry I will bring a selection of oysters you will love. Truth, I’m not an oyster fan, but the joking banter and the personalization made the evening even more enjoyable.
However, everything else was fantastic and I would definitely come back!
What an amazing experience. The oysters and other seafood we ordered was so fresh. Drinks were amazing and services was top notch. Our server went above and beyond. We appreciated her knowledge about oysters. We did the special and it did not disappoint. The desert and anniversary champagne with cheese board was a value add for sure!
Ambience is energetic. Felt comfortable. Happy hour menu is very good. Food quality is excellent
Food was amazing!!!
Sat brunch with family. Service was definitely Mediocre. We got there 5 mins before 11am their opening time. Hostess with no smile just told us to come back. (Which is fine) but didn’t feel the welcome from her.
I used opentable to book a table for the same night. Turns out the restaurant policy is to phone and confirm every reservation. If I had the time to deal woth phone calls, I would have just made the reservation by phone with the restuarant directly. Whats the point of online booking if I still have to use the phone....
Amazing seafood on a great patio. Delicious drinks and thoughtful service.
Food - very good. Wait staff - very friendly and helpful. Waited 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Good cocktails. Decent wine list, but on the high side of typical Vancouver mark-ups. Mediocre spirit selection. Noisy room. Fish art installation wall (next to our seating) is super dirty. Best creme brulee I've had in recent memory, and the banana coconut butter cake is quite special. There was a large party while we were there that lengthened our dinner wait and soaked up a lot of resources, including many of the listed oysters. That and the wait to be seated lowered my service and overall ratings from 4 stars to 3.
We have been clients for many years and we live coast, the staff is always friendly and courteous and the food is always fresh and tasty.
Most amazing sablefish!
It was incredibly busy when we came in there and we weren’t expecting to get as good of service as we had we had excellent service in fact it was a one there was no mistakes made except they forgot I requested a small little dessert cake be delivered possibly with a special message written on it but that’s not the end of the world I suppose
We were 13 in the party and children, they were very patient and kind. Good food
Looked up places for a nice dinner with for my mother-in-law birthday dinner. Even said at reservation it was for a special occasion. The service was slow and the waiter was not attentive. The restaurant was VERY loud and was difficult to have a meaningful conversation. The tables around us were adult but acted like college frat types. The food presentation was messy. The lobster was tough (over cooked) and the veggies were burnt. For three people it was roughly $300. I do not understand why the reviews are so glowing. We should of gone to Ruth Chris, always dependable. Even the valet was poor service. The valet couldn’t read the valet ticket and I had to go collect my own key as he kept trying to give me the key to the wrong car.
We came originally from Mexico. We had a reservation for 8:30 p.m. but was able to change it on the spot. From the beginning the service was amazing. We had at least 3 people at all times checking on us to include the headwaiter.
Even though the restaurant was full, at no time we felt rushed. We order the course meals of Clam chowder, Salmon, Lobster and dessert. 5 stars on all of them.
We have eaten at this restaurant many times before and quite often get Brad as our server. He always delivers top notch service. This recent dining experience had a new server waiting on us. We had to wait 30 minutes before he brought water and had to endure his version of “stand up comedy” as he waited on us. The service was definitely not up to what Coast’s normal service was or for this caliber of restaurant. Overall we were very disappointed.
We went on Sunday during happy hour and had several different appetizers. The clam chowder and calamari were divine. Thank you for such great service as well.
The dinner was for my Dad’s birthday. Food and service was great for the most part. Our seating wasn’t very good as we were seated beside a service closet.
We have been to Coast a handful of times now, and it's always consistent. Our waiter was great and made sure my seafood was cooked extra well as I'm currently pregnant, which was really nice. Don't leave without trying the Brussels sprouts and coconut banana butter cake!! We will definitely be back.
Been to the Coast restaurant many times and beet and arugula salad was perfect and seafood risotto was lacking flavor (and only a sliver of salmon was noticed).
My friend who treated for lunch enjoyed her salad and the fish tacos.
Service was okay and she did definitely did not appear to want to be either serving us or something. She just came by the table and dropped off the bill and looked the other way as she dropped off the bill.
Will definitely be back and hope she was just having an off day.
As always Coast delivers! Service, food and atmosphere all excellent!
Food was tasty but quantity was small
Our dinner was late.....8:30pm and I felt the server was confused and somewhat frustrated. We are still here sorting the bill and it’s 10:49pm.......10:54pm. P.S. I understand it’s a large party for 15.
Great meal and server.
WE WERE THE SECOND CUSTOMERS TO ARRIVE AFTER SATURDAY OPENING AND AS SOON AS WE SAT DOWN WE ORDERED OUR FOOD (THE BENNY'S) AND IT TOOK OVER AN HOUR FOR US TO GET OUR MEAL.
I WILL RECOMMEND THE PLACE BUT HOPEFULLY MY FRIENDS TO HAVE TO WAIT HOWEVER LONG WE DID.
The restaurant initially rudely not provide the happy hour menu when it was still within the happy hour time by over 30 minutes. It took over 10 minutes before the actual server came and poured us water. After some unpleasant conversation, my order was made. The server never came back to offer last call on happy hour.
There are many other restaurants with happy hour menu so ......
Excellent sushi, so fresh and delicious! The service was friendly and professional. Can't wait to come back
Fine for everyday
Good food, good atmosphere, only issue with service, our waiter seamed distracted, we had to remind him for water, and the entrees.
Tables are a bit too close to each other.
Really enjoyed the service at the during Happy Hour. The bartender was friendly and upbeat which made the dining experience great. The food was very good and the service was excellent.
Super awesome brunch! Our server was great, noise level was perfect, coffee was good too!
The food was really, really good. The only dish we were a little disappointed in was the 1/2 lobster tail rosti. The rosti itself was quite soft and bland, and the lobster was quite small for the $20 price (for a breakfast dish) and a little dry, it was a little underwhelming. The bacon tater hash was excellent though!! Would definitely return.
We went for a special occasion and it was all right, but not worth the money to be honest. We had appies which were good, drinks were good, entrees were lackluster and dessert was good. One entree was served under cooked to the point it was cold so it went back and the other got cold while we waited for the other to come back. Not everything ordered was served, it was on the bill but was fixed when it was mentioned. It seemed like we were a nuisance, the server was nice but just dropped the ball a few times, the manager didn't seem to care and we left unimpressed.
Not sure! I ordered the omelet and it was too bland and simple. Nothing great! There were 2 ladies across the table from me , who ordered the egg benadict, and they were raving about how amazing the food was. I guess I ordered the wrong dish :(
Our Scottish server was very friendly and knew the menu well. He checked with the chef if they could tweak some dishes to accommodate my food allergies and this was no problem. My partner had the beef carpaccio and steak, I had mussels and a fish special with salmon, crap, huge prawns and veggies in a tomato sauce. It was all delicious and more than enough.
We came in for fish and chip Friday but ended up having lobster topped ravioli as a starter. The food was excellent and our server was fantastic. Great place to enjoy lunch!
One of my favorites in Vancouver which is a city with many fabulous options. One of the best!
