ON y retourne OUI!
So good we ate there twice while in Quebec for just a few days!
The manager who greeted us, greeted everybody, seemed genuinely glad to see each and every diner. A good start to the evening. The waitress we had was very attentive, helpful and personable. The food was good, too. The people make this place !
My second time at this restaurant and the first time was perfect. This time the service was very slow. I had one of the Chef's special dishes the Cannelloni. The veal filling was excellent but the shell was tuff and just like something you would buy at the store. My wife had the chicken with spaghetti which she thought was great. We will go back and try again. We love the Le Continental which is the attached restaurant next door and shares the same kitchen.
We had the veal scallopine with lemon and veal scallopine with mushrooms. So light yet flavorful. The second time we went we had the crab and asparagus risotto and the penne and sausages. Both times we had the Caesar salad. We decided the veal dishes were our favorite!
We enjoyed our experience and there is a good ambiance at this restaurant! We loved the place and setting!
We really enjoy dining at this restaurant. We visit Quebec 1-3 times a year, from Nova Scotia, this restaurant is our first night of dining each trip. We enjoy everything about our experience there...the food, the atmosphere, the service.
Outstanding Ambience and Meal. Wonderful Experience all around.
Great food and great service
We booked Conti Caffe after a friend recommended 'Le Continental'. We looked at 'Le Continental' prices and decided this was way too steep for us. Conti Caffe was apparently owned by the same people as 'Le Continetal' and so we decided to give it a try. It was pretty good value for the dollar, but the food was nothing special. The atmosphere very tourist. Lots of Americans. Hindsight wished we booked at 'Le Continental' for perhaps a more authentic French cooking experience. The staff at Conti Caffe were wonderful and allowed me to practice my French language skills.. as much as it might have pained them :) An enjoyable evening... but next time I think I will splurge at Le Continental.
Wonderful setting and spectacular food. Service was very nice, warm and welcoming. The food presentation was beautiful. Windows were open so we could enjoy the nice weather and people watch.
I was so impressed with Conti. The service, food and ambiance. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It was my favorite in Quebec City. Loved the fixed price menu.
We went for an evening meal with friends. We placed our order and others around us seemed to be getting served while we still were waiting. After an hour we asked our waiter what was going on? The kitchen had put other orders ahead of ours by accident. The chef came out to apologize personally. When the food arrived shortly thereafter it was hot and delicious. While the mixup was unfortunate we still loved our meal and would go back.
Delicious and adventuous food. Service was quick friendly and professional not snobbish. Prices and wine selection reasonable
Beautiful restaurant and great service! The portion sizes of the meals are also very good and overall great value!
Food was very overpriced for the quantity and quality offered.
On a rainy Friday in August, we enjoyed a cozy table for two. The service was good/ friendly. The food was good, we enjoyed our two pasta dishes, carpaccio, and choc mousse dessert. The location was a convenient walk because we were staying in a hotel near the center of old Quebec City.
Terrific food and a fun, enthusiastic waiter made for a very memorable and enjoyable dinner.
A nice spot right in old Quebec - good atmosphere and service. Food was more fusion than Italian: minestrone was more of a rich and accented vegetable broth than the hearty soup usually associated. Risotto was good, a bit overcooked, as were some other main courses. But one of the better meals we had in the city.
We just left this restaurant. We only had four nights in Quebec city and unfortunately we spent one of them here. As wonderful as the reviews were this restaurant was a tremendous disappointment. The service from the waitress who was handling our section was epically horrible. We sat there as we listened to one table complain about how long it was taking to get their food and their beverages to them. Then apparently at the other table the waitress called the guest of honor’s mother the "b" word, at which time the table of 6 got up and left. It totally ruined the whole experience for us. A terrible, horrible disappointment. Maybe with different waitstaff it could’ve been a better experience. BTW, my martini tasted and felt watered down. I am sure there are better restaurants with better wait staff in the city than this one. I sincerely hope that the waitress who handled our section last night is. I linger working there this morning.
Atmosphere and food was outstanding. Service was horrible. Waitress was inattentive, forgot our appetizer. She spent time with a couple she obviously knew and was so engaged in conversation she stopped doing her job. Management needs to address this because it left a bad impression on our experience that was otherwise good.
Great food, quiet, understated ambience, and wait staff with a sense of humor. Highly recommended.
A wonderful end to a family trip to beautiful Quebec City!
Went here based on the reviews but very disappointed that could not substitute gluten-free pasta in the Osso Bucco dish. Even though I mentioned to the waiter that they have gluten-free pasta he said the chef was not willing to substitute the spaghetti for a gluten-free pasta. Also the waiter forgot about the wine order. Osso Bucco was favourable - but come on to not budge in substituting the wheat pasta.
Dommage...
Sehr gutes Essen. Personal top. Gerne wieder
Great service great food.
The food was ok. We tried several restaurants at similar price in Quebec City. This restaurant doesn’t have anything surprised us and nothing was not tasty. Service was ok, they do whatever you asked with a little bit delay. But didn’t pour beer, change plates for you or remove finished empty plate for you. I am not sure I asked too much, but never had this before compares to other ones. the price is on expensive side for the food and service we got. I would give 3 stars out of 5 if the price is halved.
Great service and a very good meal.
The food was excellent ! Highly recommend this restaurant and the mushroom risotto!
Each of our three dinners were delicious! The server was super nice and accommodating. When we are next in Quebec City, we plan to go back!
Great staff, portions are perfect so one doesn’t overeat, wine was really good. Home made desserts were really tasty.
Very good food in old Quebec City. Lovely restaurant, good service. Enjoyed our evening.
Delicious dinner - one of our "go-to" spots in Quebec City...
Had the best gluten free mushroom risotto. The ambiance of the Conti Caffe is warm and welcoming. Service was wonderful. Our meals were presented beautifully.
Would highly recommend dining here when in Quebec City.
My husband and I were there to celebrate a milestone anniversary and it couldn't have been more lovely! The staff was so wonderful and went out of their way to make us feel special. The food is delicious. I started out with a lobster bisque which was out of this world. I chose the four appetizer special for my main course and it was plenty of food and quite wonderful. I must mention the ambiance because the decor is beautiful--brick and stone walls containing gorgeous artwork. It is one of the prettiest streets in Old Quebec. This restaurant is such a gem. I highly recommend!
A truly wonderful experience. Professionally managed, a small seating but everything flows very well. The barmaids, and servers do a wonderful job and make sure you enjoy your evening.
