Copper Chimney - Hotel Le Soleil Ratings and Reviews
Vadim, our server, was just brilliant. Great service. We asked for recommendations on what to order - weren’t disappointed. Overall great experience.
Love this place. Service is fabulous. Chef is creative. Unbelievably great venue
Found this gem using groupon and was wonderfully surprised. The food was fantastic, very flavourful, great presentation and they service was also very good. Highly recommend if your in the mood for Indian food.
Ambiance and service good. Food was mediocre. The luncheon special (beef curry) for $14.00 had sold out by the time we ordered around 12:15 p.m. No substitute was provided. My friend and I both ordered the lamb curry instead at $28.00. There appeared to be no extra value added for the increase in price, i.e. I am sure the chef simply substituted lamb in the vegetable curry sauce for the beef. Very poor. Would not recommend this restaurant for anyone who really enjoys Indian food.
I'd heard rave reviews about this place. As Vij's is my go-to for neuvo Indian cuisine I was hesitant to give it a try. I managed to get the group together for our annual Christmas dinner so we thought we'd give this a try.. It's a very comfortable nicely decorated room. The service personnel were quite good. However the food was not stellar and the prices, especially the wine prices, are offensive. Portion size is ridiculously small and it is not anywhere near as good as their competition. If you're in the downtown core and it happens to be a convenient place to dine for you, go for it. But there are other better places at more reasonable prices in the city. All of us agreed, we won't be returning.
Very attractive room with wood paneling and white tablecloths. Excellent service, Very tasty food with something for everyone. A bit pricey.
Good place to sit and talk, and to do business without interruption
My wife and I had dinner at Copper Chimney on Friday, 01 December 2017.
My wife really enjoyed the Tandoori Salmon and their Butter Chicken was delicious.
Best Crab Cakes I have ever had.
Beautiful room and not too noisy - we were actually able to hear each other talk.
The Not So Good:
Our order, for some reason, was taken by the bartender. 2 other servers then came to our table after the bartender asking to take our order.
A fourth server brought our appetizer and both entrees at the same time - the explanation was that the bartender made "an error".
We all make mistakes, but we were unable to have our entrees directly in front of us because the table was relatively small. Not exactly convenient.
The manger then arrived and told me " I will buy you a beer " to make us for the inconvenience.
Well, I like beer so that was well and good. Unfortunately, he completed ignored my wife as if she did not exist. After this, no servers came to our table and the ?hostess brought over the bill.
The Chefs did a great job. The Service was random and disorganized. At this price point, you can find better food and service (they go together after all) in Vancouver. Will not be back soon.
Delicious new Indian dining
I was disappointed that there was no vegan option. At the very least, a vegan meal could have been put together for me by the chef/cook. I now know that I can’t take clients there because I won’t get a decent meal.
The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive and friendly.
We loved it, especially the lollipop lamb and nan bread.
The Mexican and The Russian waiters were absolutely fantastic!
we enjoyed it so much, we booked 2 christmas dates and Christmas dinner this year. it was great!
Excellent service. Very friendly, responsive and attentive. Food portions generous. Quality middling.
Very Poor service and food nothing to brag about
Won't be going back
Copper chimney food is good. I found the desert way too sweet. And my only other review part is that I wish it was and they said Groupon menu. It would be nice to have access to the whole menu for a limited amount.
Food is always really good here! Spotted the Curry Tasting meal and ordered that because I couldn't decide :) Cute presentation and tasted delicious. It wasn't very busy when we went so had super fast service!
Lamb Popsicle was awesome. We also tried Grilled plate which was very well marinated and tasty.
It was great
The Copper Chimney is my "go to place" for lunches with clients, Happy Hour with friends. I highly recommend it. The food is extremely interesting - and in a great way -- there is something different but something for everyone. The kitchen is flexible and accommodating. Unbelievable great value!
The interior was nice.
Limited choices for vegetarian dishes.
We ordered bottle of wine for $38 from the wine list, however, it appeared as $52 on the bill without any explanation or apology from the restaurant.
We made the reservation via OpenTable and apparently this did not register on their system. Our entire party was treated with utter disrespect and they were not willing to accommodate our group of 6 even though we were willing to wait. Terrible service staff.
Had a birthday celebration dinner and the staff was excellent in accommodating our party of 8. Food was great and the ambiance of the place was amazing.
Not a great experience, but not terrible. We expected better for the price. Curry was basic. Menu was a mish mash of ideas.
The calamari is good portion, the steak was very dry outside although it's med rare; not that tasty at all. Quality and price doesn't jive even with Groupon. 🤷🏻♀️
Good food great menu
Excellent food, great personalized service, very cosy.
Very tasty Indian fusion, lovely setting and great service.
The food was delightful. The service great. There were some rather loud and obnoxious patrons which were the only draw back. There was live music which was also lovely.
Met some friends before a show. Great food, great service, great drinks. We'll be back!
Delicious food. Nice presentation. Hot at the table.Attentive staff. good value
This a unique restaurant. Indian fusion is rare. They a very creative menu. The quality is top notch.
Great evening, great food - the kebabs were delicious - and great wine!
Great food with a good variety of choice from the menu. Service was excellent and the guitarist added a special ambiance to the evening.
We had a wonderful time last Friday at Copper Chimney, I love the food the service is spectacular the live music on Fridays and Happy hour specials. Love it and I recommended this restaurant to everyone I know and will be back again and again! one of the best Indian restaurants in Vancouver.
Expected more complexity to food menu. The decorum exceeds the quality of food. Honestly not bad tasting food but expected more gourmet cooking for the type of environment we were in. Highly recommend to hide or remove the plastic spice containers from view of customers.
Except that a salad came to the table undressed and catching the attention of our server took more than ten minutes, the rest of our dining experience was really very good. The live music was only okay, but kept in the background so those who were enjoying it could and those who wanted to ignore it could too.
I had Christmas dinner with my husband at the Copper Chimney and it was amazing! I didn't expect an Indian restaurant to serve such a delicious and authentic turkey dinner. The ambiance was lovely and the quality and service was fantastic, we'll definitely be back! :)
Had a wonderful relaxed Christmas dinner here. Tasty food and great service, lovely Art Deco decor warm and cosy. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again :)
