   We had the 3 course lunch special. It was as usual awesome. The only exception was the strawberry shortcake which was hard and a little too salty. We didn’t complain, just wanted our server to let the kitchen know! I might add this was last Friday and I was back there (yesterday) Sunday for the Jazz Brunch. Love this place!!!!

   The experience was absolutely enjoyable and the staff was great however the biggest disappointment was the food. It was mediocre. I expected to pay a hefty price for the unique experience, but the $40 Stainability Fee wasn't necessary for a party of one on top of the mandatory 20% tip. The reason I was hell bent on trying this was for the animated experience. That was the best part, however the meal was less than desirable. It was fun to watch the lil chef scenes gather the ingredients for each of the courses. The first course was a ball of mozzarella with arugula. It was ok. The second course was a seafood soup. Not bad but I passed on the mini octopus, there was one good size shrimp, one muscle and clam as well. The third course was a lobster tail, it was a fairly large piece and very good. Fourth course was a small steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was ok. The finale was basically Neapolitan ice cream on top of a brownie. I was expecting something a little more upscale considering the experience. Overall it could be worth the experience if the cost came down.

    Visited for brunch with my daughter. I ordered the shrimp and grits and let's just say I'm glad I ordered a waffle as well as the shrimp and grits were the most bland I've ever had. I could barely stand to chew the shrimp. They tasted like they were grilled but that's it. They had absolute no flavor at all. My coffee was good. The service was great. Definitely would have to order something else if I went back.

    The food was delicious but they shouldn’t take reservations after 7:30 pm. We had an 8:30 pm reservation and as soon as we sat down they asked for our order given that the kitchen closed at 9:00 pm. We gave them our order and they proceeded to try to take our food away before we finished eating it. They also did not understand dietary restrictions (I have celiac disease and they told us things that were gluten free had gluten). The meal was over $300, we were celebrating a birthday, and they rushed us in and out within 45 minutes.

    Beautiful place with terrific ambiance for a special occasion. The $95 prix fixe dinner is 5 courses and a good value. But the a la carte menu is less so. The prix fix items are undersized--I presumed intentionally. But when I ordered some of them as my entree--the soup for example--the alacarte ones were just as small. $25 for a big tureen of soup with in the center a tiny 1/2 cup hole where the soup resides. Ha. But other than that it was excellent in all other ways.

    We got there at 11am for brunch and ordered from the brunch menu we were given. 10 min later the waiter returned and said we couldn’t order brunch anymore and handed us lunch menus. Not even 30 minutes later, a group next to us was given the full brunch menu and allowed to order brunch. The waiter said it was a misunderstanding and that he’d removed the 75 cent drinks from our bill. And the beignets he sent to the table as an apology were obviously not on the bill. The food was decent but not what we wanted. The chicken sandwich was chewy, the croissant was soggy, our fries were cold, and the couscous had a very weird sweet flavor- much like spaghettiOs sauce. We were really looking forward to the brunch menu. The French 75s were fantastic though!

    I have to admit, I'm disappointed. As a guest of the hotel, I dined at the restaurant my first night. The dinner menu had a limited selection, but I decided to stay. The bread arrived cold; and was sent back. We shared the Lobster Mac and Cheese that we had to go in a scavenger hunt for the Lobster. Our main entree was Snapper that was seasoned we'll, but the crab meat was cold. The prices we expensive, which I don't mind paying but the quality should match the price. I canceled my second reservation ; won't dine again. Finally our server was super nice, but overall I rated the experience a 🌟🌟🌟

    As soon as I walked into the gorgeous lobby, i knew I was in for a great night. The sweet and friendly young lady checking me in couldn’t have been more welcoming and my server and his partner were attentive and super nice. I had the avocado crab stack which was delicious and for my main course, the duck which was outstanding. A truly wonderful night and I highly recommend this gem.

    The animation chef was really cool to experience. Keep in mind it's going to be more than the 135 per person. With two drinks ( one a regular sprit our bill was just under $400. Portions are also a little smaller but the food is good. The experience should be done at least once.

    The worst thing was the noise. The restaurant is open to the bar next door and the noise level was ridiculously loud. Could barely hear each other across a little table for two. Food was good, but very few choices for entrees. One of us ordered the bouillabaisse as an entree due to so few choices, and it was literally a cup-size serving of soup. Very poor showing for the cost! The snapper was cooked perfectly and a nice sized portion, so it’s hit or miss here.

    First off the service and food are outstanding, I live in NOLA and this restaurant is at the top of my list when visitors want a super special dining experience. My BFF is a trained chef and loves seared foie Gras so she asked the chef if he could prepare it that way instead of torchon per the menu. He wasn’t able to accommodate her but then gave us tasting of the torchon prepared and it was magnificent! We ordered the 5 course dinner and every bite was amazing. This was one of the best birthday celebrations ever!

    We have been to the Criollo at the Monteleone many times. We, now, ask for our favorite server, KATHY. She has always been wonderful, friendly and always on top of "her game." Again, we have been there many times, call for reservations, and always ask for a window seat if available. On Friday, 5/5/23, the Eggs Benedict was not cooked long enough and were too runny. The very first time this happened to the order. We hope, and will be back soon.
