The food is inconsistent and varies every time we go to Cuba De Ayer. The first visit we had ox tails, cerviche and more and everything was delicious and impeccable. This time the ox tails were so salty we couldn't eat them and the cerviche was more avocados & tomatoes than fish. We appreciate they don't have multiple and hidden fees and, the service was good. The cuban sandwich is always dry.

We had a great time celebrating my wife’s birthday. Cuban de Ayer is one of our top 10 restaurants in the Maryland, Dc, and Virginia area. The food is delicious! We always have a hard time picking our appetizers, and main courses, we always choose something different every time we go, that’s how good the food is.

Great day for Valentines' Day! Very busy but I think they handled it well and had tents set up for overflow outside on a mild winter night. Service by Luis was great - we got seated within 7 minutes of our reservation time despite such a heavy wait.

If you are looking for Cuban flavor this is the place to be. Do not go to Sabor de Cuba, frozen food is served to you and it’s either salty over cooked. This place Cuba de Ayer the best authentic Cuban flavor. We should, we are Cuban. When visiting Maryland, it’s the place to eat.

Our server Astrid was wonderful! All of the food was great. We had the sopa de res, which was hearty and delicious. The ropa vieja was very authentic and special. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. I highly recommend this neighborhood gem.

Cuba de ayer is a great location for just a dinner out as well as an authentic Cuban cuisine destination. Mojitios are refreshing. So many appetizer choices to start the meal and then good luck choosing your entree because there are many items that call out to you from seafood, to arroz con pollo to classic pernil and steak entrees. Save room for dessert or take it home for later!
