Cucina Market Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Top server in Calgary. Super fast and friendly. Abasksjsjsjdjdjjddjdjjdjdjd
My co-workers and I were there to celebrate a birthday. Three of the four of us are vegetarians and there were enough vegetarian selections that we each had something different and we all enjoyed the dishes we had. The only negative is that it was VERY noisy (and it's not a very big restaurant).
Service slow to start but once we got on the treadmill we were well attended to.
Server was willing and eager to accommodate all special requests. Food was good but seating, and ambiance, was so unaccommodating I was challenged to fully be in the moment and simply enjoy dinner: tables are RIDICULOUSLY close together, might as well be dining with strangers and the server could barely squeeze in to do her work; we were butted right up against the door/window, so - chilly; quite noisy, everyone had to really lean in to hear and be heard.
Food was nice but I might not hurry back.
We were seated off to the side on high chairs
Delicious food and good service. If you decide to have an appetizer consider ordering a half size primi (pasta), since the portions are very generous.
usually a great experience, not good on this meal. The food didn't arrive for 45 minutes and wasn't the best dish I've had here.
Enjoyed the ambiance inside the restaurant. Celebrated my sister's birthday in fine style. Service was great. We all found great choices on the menu and left satisfied and happy.
We were there for a friends gathering after 10 years. It was so good, environment, atmosfer and food. The service was nice and very fast. I like it so much and recommend it to every one who like to have a good time with friends.
Lunch was fresh and delicious - as expected. I will be back again, guaranteed.
My meal at Cucina was amazing. I had chosen it at random while in town for business, and I'm so glad I did. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were perfect. I also loved that for such great food, the prices were incredibly reasonable. Finally, the service was excellent. I can't wait to return.
We were able to get a table outside and the day was warm and sunny, so the ambience that way was excellent. The food was also outstanding and the service was great. All in all a very nice lunch, catching up with a former colleague.
Delicious food and generous portions. Charming and friendly service. The bruschetta was on beautiful toasted bread with generous toppings. The gnocchi were unexpectedly large but delicious with a pleasant texture. I enjoyed the large side, they were satisfying and delicious!
My friend and I will be back. Many things on the menu we want to try.
My friends and I had been to Cucina in the past and had an overall wonderful experience. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the food came in a timely manner and tasted wonderful. However, this time, our food took 50 minutes to arrive. We work downtown and have limited time for lunch, so this was a huge inconvenience. When we asked for our bill prior to our food coming out, our server retrieved the payment machine without ever apologizing about the delay and as we paid, she didn't say one word to us. We were quite taken back by how rude and inconsiderate she was, as our last experience was the complete opposite. She didn't refill our waters or ask how our beverages were. She didn't stop by our table once after we ordered our food, until we asked for the bill. Once the food was brought to our table by another server, she didn't stop by to ask how the meal was or say anything to us before we left. It also might be important to note that there were only 3 other tables in the restaurant at the time, we made our reservation after the lunch peak so it wasn't busy. No efforts were made to make up for the awful experience (not even a short apology) and I still feel very confused by the experience. It's so unfortunate that this happened as we had previously been telling people that Cucina was a great spot, but this has drastically changed our views and left a really awful, lasting impression.
Absolutely lovely food. Very tasty.
Have been here a number of times. Always consistently very good food
Service is really good and friendly.
We all enjoyed our food and our server was awesome! He was very attentive to our table and seemed to enjoy his job, which makes a huge difference. He was one of those servers that you wished you had the money to leave a large tip :)
The menu was priced well but the drinks were a bit more expensive - the deals at happy hour seemed great though so I'd suggest trying to go for that.
The decor was lovely and the restaurant felt comfy/cozy.
We had a very pleasant experience. Food, service, and ambiance was great.. we were one of the only two tables filled there. Would return!
Amazing food and outstanding service. We sat outside on the patio, which was lovely.
The staff at Cucina went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful evening out. Tried an array of items from their menu and each one was a unique pairing of ingredients that were beautifully arranged.
The service at Cucina was satisfactory but I found the food to be poorly thought out. Poached eggs with mushrooms and sauce were served on a baguette which was really tough to eat with a fork and knife. The dish was flavorful but stingy on mushrooms. The crispy hash was simply potato cubes fried or deep fried. No discernible seasoning. We had a reservation but had to wait at the bar for at least 15 minutes while staring at empty tables and then our table was right against the coffee counter which was quite busy. The tables were so close together that the waiter bumped my arm quite hard as he walked by. I had to apologize to my guest for the wait , the setting, and the food; I had not been there before. I see no reason to go back.
Good breakfast spot and a place to meet colleagues
Simply outstanding. Hostess excellent. Service excellent and Chef happy and engaging. Menu superb.
We sat outside since they have a nice little patio! Our waiter was great and very prompt service!
Disappointed with our service. Our waiter was not only absent during much of the meal- we had to flag him down multiple times for utensils, our water glasses to be refilled, etc. Made snide comments about me not ordering an alcoholic beverage (for personal health reasons I am not able to drink) and refused to say thank you or anything to me once I had paid and given a tip that was reflective of our level of service. Disappointing given that I frequent Cucina due to its close proximity to my office and even take clients there. I'll be re-thinking where I take clients, friends, etc. due to this experience. I guess my order wasn't expensive enough, etc to be given a decent and comfortable level of service.
Great quality food. The tables are a little too close but it is a small area. Service is good
I took business associates from out of town to Cucina and was incredibly impressed! The food was incredible, service was professional and yet friendly. Our server was attentive without being a distraction.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to fellow colleagues and family and friends. I look forward to going back in the near future.
Great food, we will be back!
We were pleasantly surprised by the food and ambiance as we just used open table to book, not knowing anything about the restaurant, as we are not residents of Calgary. Good food, chic vintage decor- really bistro like. Nice wait staff, dinners came very quickly. They very easily accommodated my gluten intolerance and it was no problem for my husband and son to share a dish. If we lived there we'd go back!
Went with friends for dinner before theatre. Very positive experience - no negative comments. This was a return visit as we have been a couple of times before. Food and service have been excellent and consistent. It's nice to be able to suggest a restaurant and be confident in your recommendation.
As always good and service was great , this is my usual spot for breakfast meetings
Totally unexpected and enjoyable. The soup of the day was delicious! The service was unobtrusive but perfect.
Overall the dinner was amazing! We had the beef tartare and risotto. Those were delicious but not overly amazing. But the steak with bone marrow jus was so good! I wish we didn't eat so much before getting to this because it was just perfect. The tiramisu was the best end to our dinner. And parking can be confusing but they're really helpful with directions.
Always consistent and good.
Love cucina's coffee and bacon breakfast sandwich.
Food was outstanding. Very crapped seating, maybe 1 or 2 less tables.
We made a reservation about a week ahead , but when we arrived our table was not available . Seated at the bar it was about 45minutes before we we seated at our reserved table .
We ordered a couple of appetizers to share . The charcuterie was very large even though it was a half portion . Too much meat & only 1 cheese ( would have lived a second one , and half the amount of meat ) a few pickles and a delicious compot with honey and toasts . The calamari was ample & deicious . We both had the half rack of lamb and it was served with polenta and grilled zucchini . The sides to this dish were not mentioned in the menu , so we ordered the broccoli to share , which was a generous portion . The lamb was perfectly cooked , tender and tasty . We ordered a caraf of wine which they let us taste a glass before we ordered . The service was friendly . The restaurant was full but not loud , and overall it was a very pleasent evening . Happy to recommend this lovely restaurant.
Food was terrible. My steak was the best part but still wasn't very good. The potatoe hash brown patty thing was all grease and tasted like grease. There was huge amounts of grease on our plates from it. The califlower and zucchini were way overcooked. This was a huge disappointment
Tuna was amazing! Food very creative, flavorful and fresh. Dessert was less satisfying but overall good.
Mussel dish with cream sauce was very small and disappointing. The market fish with veggies was delightful. Good size and quality and the tomato based sauce they had with the fish was outstanding! Warning: they charge you a dollar for both still and sparkling water without telling you until the bill comes along.
