We were excited for their recent event, A Night in the Great White North; but left disappointed. Though it had been sometime since we last dined at Cucina, we had always received an exceptional meal with lots of flavour. That was not the case this time around. The poutine was overcooked, dry on the outside, and hard to cut through. The lobster roll was bland. The lamb entree also overcooked and could have used a lot more salt/seasoning. The only bright light of the night was the ice cream served with the espresso Nanaimo bar. The bar itself was bitter and overpowering. Not what we expected from this establishment and for the price paid.

This place continues to crush it and has the best happy hour pricing on wine in the city. Patio isn’t open yet but apparently will open after May Long.

Cucina has the most amazing staff, who are friendly, efficient and ensure you have the best experience. The food is always a triumph and the ability to select from different portion sizes, truly is a game changer for me. From appetizer to entree to dessert... hands down a wonderful experience.

We were able to take advantage of happy hour so the wine an excellent price, however, not sure this morning we needed a bottle. Food was excellent. my complaint, the music too loud for visiting.

Our server was really good. I like I didn't have to pack my own leftovers. Something I appreciate being done for me. Our server was extremely friendly calm and happy

We dined here after attending Vertigo’s “A Killing at La Cucina”. The restaurant offered a generous discount to theatre attendees, so it was particularly good value! I had the salmon and found it delicious, but it would be very much overpriced at $36 without the discount. The same was true of the burrata appetizer at $27. Service was attentive, water glasses refilled. A mixup with our order meant a slight wait for my entree, and resulting confusion with our bills did delay our departure. Perhaps our server was new to the job and will improve as she gains experience. We would go to the restaurant again, perhaps for lunch or breakfast.
