   Great locations and very friendly staff. We had the gnocchi and manicotti, which were the perfect serving size. I recommend the valpolicella- great wine and great value.

   One of my favourite downtown restaurants for a couple of years, they have consistently excellent food and service. Also they do not close between lunch and dinner so very flexible dining schedule. They have a great wine list and offer 1/2 price bottles at happy hour. They have recently taken on a new chef and my first experience with him was outstanding. Serving staff are top notch!

   Lunch with my (adult) daughter; the room itself is quite nice (patio, too) - but the high top tables and bench over to the far side feel like they are an 'add-on' - not really part of the restaurant. Also, when seating us, the hostess sat another table immediately beside us on the bench, when there were 3 or 4 other open tables along there. Given the open nature of the bench, leaving an empty table between us (even if they get filled later) seems like an easy win (not a huge issue, but as a restaurant vet, I would have taught my hosts that). Lunch was good - I generally love their simple and beautifully prepared menu, but the mussels this time seemed overly salty, and the broth didn't have the usual edge of the wine I have come to expect. As well, it looks like they have moved to a croustini style bread with the mussels, rather than a baguette. Personally, I preferred the baguette to sop up the broth, but not a huge deal. Our server was attentive and friendly - appreciated her, for sure.

    Food here is fantastic - we stated w/ the Kale salad and Octopus, which was fresh and zesty. Gnocchi is a must try, you won't be disappointed!

    Cucina is a great place for lunch downtown. Full stop. Prices are reasonable (whatever that means nowadays), food is very good and the servers actually seemed interested in making the lunch experience good (not just "doing their job"). Highly recommend. I see that they also do breakfast and I'm told it's quite good as well. Might need to try supper there soon too based on the quality of this latest vist!

    We had the Braised Beef Rib risotto special. It was very flavourful with just the right amount of cheese so not overly rich and heavy. De-lish! And very attentive and friendly service.

    I am a Cucina regular but the kitchen has been missing on the quality of its Caesar and other salads for the lunch time menu which have only been average of late. Bring back the Lyonaisse and up the game on other selections for those of us who wish for a greener/lighter option at lunch. Thanks.

    Went to Cucina for dinner on a Friday night. The place was small but busy. The waiter was very nice and attentive....thank you so much. I ordered the salmon; it was cooked with beans. I was not too impressed......it was only a small portion of Pacific Salmon (farm-raised). Since I am from Vancouver, for $30 - I should be getting Sockey or Coho Salmon. The taste was ok but nothing special.

    The street level access and small number of seats creates huge overhead costs which are reflective in their prices. $21 for 9 oz. of white wine from Kelowna is excessive. Meatless pasta dishes approach the $30 mark.

    I appreciate the anticipated service of what we may want , the recommendations on food and pairing with wine. Attendant service also leaves you be to enjoy your company. Lovely decor and especially can chat and converse without loud music - the art is impressive - real art ! Not prints !
