$$$$Price: Very Expensive • Sushi • Chevy Chase
The freshest sushi in the Washington DC metro area that I have experienced. I began eating Sushi in the DC area in 1980, trying most of the restaurants, and Sushiko is at the top (Tachibana in McLean, Virginia, is also excellent). Unlike many other Sushi restaurants, Sushiko does not specialize in serving Maki rolls that are drenched in all kinds of exotic sauces. It relies on the freshness of the fish not sauces. Sushiko does tend to be more expensive than other Sushi restaurants, charging between $6 and $9 for each piece of Nigiri sushi for most of their offerings, and $10 to $12 each on more expensive items. Their menu, lunch or dinner, is extensive.
