Leaside was the neighbourhood with everything a young family could need -- except bacon and eggs. Native to the area, Hayley and Robbie know it’s the natural setting to raise their daughter, Sophie. But, before 4 o’clock, it was a challenging place to feed her. They set out to give the neighbourhood the brunchtime local Leaside (and Sophie) deserved.Tailored to the family-oriented community, the menu honours all generations. It features the crucial classics (like the Benedict), hipster staples (like the Avocado toast), and kid-curated essentials (like pb&j pancakes). From top to bottom, the food is crafted around the intention of what can be house made, freshly squeezed, and locally sourced. Sophie’s opened in August 2018 and has had lines out the door ever since. Casual and fun, the place immediately looked like it had been on the Bayview strip all along – because it should have been.
