Chubby’s Jamaican Kitchen is rooted in Jamaican food, culture, and the people behind it. Built with deep respect for the island’s culinary traditions, it presents classic Caribbean cooking with a confident, contemporary point of view.Founded by Janet Zuccarini and Angela Lawrence, Chubby’s grew out of a long friendship and a shared commitment to honoring Jamaica’s cuisine. Angela led the creative vision, drawing on her Jamaican heritage to shape the space, the tone, and the guest experience.Led by a Jamaican-born management and culinary team, including General Manager Shannon Dempster and Chef de Cuisine Dadrian Coke, the restaurant reflects lived experience, not interpretation.Set inside a reimagined circa-1890 row house, Chubby’s spans two floors, two bars, and outdoor patios. Old and new sit comfortably together, creating a lively, generous place built around strong flavors, thoughtful design, and genuine hospitality.

Rhum Corner, the name came from Jen's husband Roland drinking rum and cokes at Cocktail Bar and serving them up for friends in the know, in the corner. Rhum Corner the concept came from Jen and Roland's long considered idea to do a Haitian restaurant, with a cool atmosphere. It's hard to use the word "cool" without feeling like a douche, but that's the concept. Cheap and tasty food, fun drinks, like frescos and slushies and buckets of rhum. So much rhum.

Since 2006, Z bar & grille has been serving locals the best Canadian and Caribbean food around - jerk chicken, jerk pork, oxtail, curry goat, and roti plus homemade burgers, brisket, nachos and poutines along with craft beers and signature cocktails (our Jamaican Ten Speed is fantastic (mocktail available too!)) . Sure, you may hear pool games going on and the juke box pumps out some strange tunes from time to time but this only adds to the old school pub atmosphere that makes Z bar a safe haven in hectic times. We have been compared to Cheers more times than I can count and you will feel like part of the gang when you come in.
