Best Contemporary Canadian Restaurants in Parkdale

I went here to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and my pregnancy and I had an amazing time. We went for 8pm to catch the sunset and although we didn’t get a window seat the host showed us a table that was elevated and close to the windows so we still got a great view of the water and the city which was really great at sunset. To add to the atmosphere they lift the blinds electronically in unison which opens up the space to a beautiful golden sky. I got two mocktails our server recommended which were very delicious. Me and my boyfriend got the steak tar tar and the oysters as starters and for mains we got the albacore in the caviar sauce and the tomato and salmon. Not only was the timing of each dish impeccable but the food definitely exceeded any expectations I had, which were high considering I researched the chef de cuisine and the district executive chef on the website before arriving. I would 100% recommend the albacore it was genuinely the best dish I’ve ever had. Our server delivered perfect service he was very helpful and also very personable and likeable. By the time it was completely dark outside the restaurant adapted to a whole new vibe that was both laid back and elegant and by this time I was drinking a cappuccino and looking over the dessert menu. We shared the blackberry meringue with a light sponge cake and it was the perfect way to end the night with a light and refreshing pallet cleanser. I’d like to note that the kitchen was open to see which was very enjoyable. I saw the chef de cuisine that I’d read about and it was fun to point that out to my boyfriend and to see how professional and calm the kitchen was, definitely a kitchen that is being ran well and staffed with talented people who are working in a beautiful open kitchen with a great view. Overall it was 10/10 for me and I will definitely be coming back.

Dinner was lovely. We got the chefs menu and it was beautiful food, delicious. The service was exceptional and we had a great time. We will be going back! Highly recommend! It’s really pretty too!

Fabulous from start to finish. Booked a bar seat last minute and we were sat at the chef's table. The front of house staff and chef team were lovely and the kitchen staff interacted with us and answered questions about the dishes they were making! We had an amazing evening and the food was amazing. The highlight of our trip to Toronto!

This is a bit of a hidden gem inside the Gladstone Hotel. It was a quiet night. We had a great bartender/server on Friday night. The burger and fries and wings were really good as was my margarita. And the prices were super reasonable- how refreshing! Good place to hang out and talk.
