Best Japanese Restaurants in Hyde Park

I dined here with my grandmother for her 79th birthday, and we truly had the most delightful experience. She felt incredibly special, and had the best service she’d ever had at a restaurant. I felt so happy to have created that experience for her. Thanks to Peter, our server, and the amazing chefs and staff!

Loved this restaurant! Definitely an experienced sushi chef, as the rolls were the perfect ratio of rice to fillings, and all the flavors were balanced. The caterpillar and Christmas in July rolls were so yummy! The salmon sashimi was also very fresh and melted in my mouth. The popcorn chicken, spring rolls, crab puffs, chicken satay, miso soup, Cali roll were all good as well. We really loved the fried rice. Light but still flavorful. The steamed vegetables were more crunchy than preferred, so if you like your veg softer, you will want to let them know. This restaurant uses fresh quality ingredients, and we would definitely eat here again.

Excellent food. Some dishes seemed overpriced. Restaurant was pretty empty, but could imagine a nice vibe on a busier night. Thanks for a good meal!

Yummy food, great service, and quiet atmosphere.

We were there at 4:30 on a Sunday afternoon and almost the only ones in the restaurant as a consequence there was no noise level. Service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. We had no real expectations for the menu so were pleasantly surprised. The spring rolls were very good but the best plate was the calamari by far. Two of us at pad Thai and it was excellent. Two had the shrimp vegetables. One commented that it was way too salty for her taste. The portions were very generous, enough left for following day lunches. We will return soon with visions of the best calamari we have had in a very long time.
