Da Mimmo Finest Italian Cuisine
Overall food was good, not great. Enjoyed the calamari as a starter. Pasta Carbonara was tasty. Prices were reasonable but added up quickly when you had all courses. Wines by the glass were pricey for the average quality.
We went for restaurant week and a birthday celebration, the service was wonderful and the food was outstanding!
Mildly overpriced and entrees were very salty.
Outstanding food; best orange roughy I’ve ever eaten, my dining companions loved their clams and lasagna, nice wine list, great service. The only possible negative is that the decor is dated, but charming and kitschy in its own way. We are all planning on going back!
Disappointed since the last time I came. The veal chop was still good, but the sides were meh. And my clams casino were kinda sad.
But the service in the dining room was good.
The dining room didn't have the best of ambiance--but the bathrooms are a hoot.
Service at the front of house was bad. I don't know if she's the owner or what, but she was really huffy and rude. She was on her phone watching videos (with sound) while the piano player was singing. Not cool. Docking stars off just for that.
Overall, the lounge is cool. The piano player is there on Weds and Sat. They have a happy hour and a specific bar menu (I think you can even reserve seats at the bar). If I came back, I'd just eat at the bar and try to avoid the lady at the door.
We decided to try Da Mimmo during Baltimore Restaurant Week. We were surprised for a Saturday night that there were so few people at the restaurant. Upon arriving, the hostess agreed to seat us on the first level because someone in our party had a difficult time climbing stairs. There was only one table that had customers and we were seated directed next to them. The tables were so close that we were literally hitting elbows with the people next to us...the rest of the restaurant was empty. The wait staff was rude...curt and very unfriendly. Our party was shocked at the unprofessional, bordering on abusive, manner in which the staff treated us. It actually become the topic of our conversation because all four of us were stunned by the cold, unwelcoming and unpleasant manner of the restaurant employees. The food was good...above average....but certainly not worth the price...or the attitude. As a side note...the iced tea tasted more like dishwasher water than tea. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Da Mimmo's is my favorite spot in Little Italy. The food is absolutely AMAZING!! The waiters are very friendly and want to make sure you have the best dining experience.
Love Da Mimmo!!! Been coming for 25 years and never disappoints. Veal chop is out of this world! We had a wonderful evening and got to enjoy the company of the other tables around us.
Meal was ok. Mozzarella was stale but rest of meal was ok. Waiter spoke very quickly and seemed to be more focused on what he needed to do than attending to us. Was expecting more.
Lobster Tetrazzini and Veal Chop we're excellent. Lasagna and Veal Piccada we're very good. Service was very good. Warm old school ambiance.
The service and the food were outstanding! I had the mussels and the marinara sauce was so flavorful. I also had the chicken masala and would return just for that dish! The service was very attentive and kind. When I was leaving the restaurant I noticed that they have free parking for this restaurant. Definitely will return the next time I’m in Baltimore!
Fabulous! We go there every time we are at the Hilton for a conference. Food is delicious. Pricey but worth it.
The food was delicious, we were there about 15 years ago and it is just as wonderful. The only disappointing aspect was the prices are very high. I don’t mind paying for good food but, in my opinion, they were about 20% overpriced. Will still visit again though.
Da Mimmo's is a traditional Italian restaurant. They have an experienced and professional wait staff. The appetizers, including clams casino and open face ravioli, were delicious. They veal chop is the most tender and delicious I have eaten. I enjoy coming here with family and friends, as it feels like home.
We had a delicious meal, though the veal chop was not listed on the veal menu, and when it arrived, there were two large chops. (I had remembered just one, before.) Needless to say, it was delicious and provided a couple of meals at home! The veal piccata and veal marsala and lasagna, all superb!
We got there at 6pm, only couple seated upstairs so it is hard to comment on service, yes, the service was: quick, attentive, and fast; however, we were the only ones there. But, the staff was VERY knowledgeable about menu and specials (there were a lot). The food was "okay" for the money, little pricy at $117.00 for two, BUT the food was EXCELLENT, so I have no negative comment I would make. The food: open face seafood ravioli was SOOOOO tasty, the Chicken Parm was good (should have been served with side of pasta for meal price), the Chicken Marsala was also very good (but again no pasta), typically ANY where else pasta is included. The garlic bread was very good, but at $1.50 "per" slice. that seemed just a bit high. It was a special occasion so I did not mind....Overall, nice atmosphere and good food; ENJOY!!
Hands down, our favorite Italian restaurant in Baltimore. Upstairs is especially nice for a special occasion.
5/18/18 rainy Friday night before Preakness. Had a drink in the bar before moving to the dining room for dinner
Bar was about half full around 5:30 very quiet -walls filled with celebrity picture of past guest
Service was great in both bar and dining room. Food was top notch- split the lobster ravioli for an appetizer- had the sea bass special for entree and my husband had the veal chop of which he took one home with him. Cannoli was split for desert. Shared a bottle of wine. Although a little pricey well worth it for excellent food wine and service. Also free parking in their lot
Thanks for a great experience
Excellent food and service. Watch out for the complimentary Lemoncello, that is accidentally put on your bill.
My wife and I love DaMimmo's and it is the only restaurant we frequent in Little Italy. From the expertise of the bar staff to the exceptional service and knowledge of the wait staff to the convenience of the parking lot, we always enjoy our dinners there. Top notch from start to finish.
Our meal at DaMimmo was a highlight of our 2 days in Baltimore. The house special veal chop is to die for. The "fruits of the sea" entree is excellent. Service is outstanding. It is a small intimate dining experience that was slightly marred by an obnoxious egotist at a nearby table who loved to hear himself talk. I highly recommend the restaurant. It's not cheap but oh so good.
Very warming and professional service. The food was above and beyond delicious!
Excellent as always! We Can't wait to do it again.
The minestrone soup was excellent but the chicken parm, although not bad, was missing something. Same with spaghetti and meatballs - something was missing. Desserts ok.
Food was amazing. Get the veal chop but either share it or plan to take home
leftovers. Its huge.
The bread was served very spongy mass manufactured really no taste to stay it did have garlicky taste the other bread and with some cheese on it and garlic same bread mass production no flavor no soul.
The way to basically said you ready? Very poor mannered
Took my wife for Valentine's dinner. She loves Italian and this definitely a hit. The staff was awesome, bar area is small but quaint and has a romantic flair. The resturant is beautiful and has a great atmosphere. The best part of our evening was the dinner we selected. We had the best food in a lo g time and the sauce was excellent.
The food and service were great! We highly recommend this place and will be back again in the future!
Whenever I m in Baltimore dinner at Da Mimmo is a must. It never disappoints. The service was top notch. We started with a shared Apple salad. Very unique dressIng I had the veal chop (their signature dish) and it was delicious and cooked to perfection . My wife had the sea bass. Fresh, thick, flaky and served over pasta. She enjoyed it.
Prices were not out of line for fine dining in a city and we spent about the same as we would have in Morton’s or any other fine dining restaurant except that the service was way above average, the noice level was low, and there was good live music that was never too loud, just right.
Excellent wine, food & service
As always, a delicious meal and great wine in a cozy space.
The veal chop was great, although I would have loved a little pasta with it...
Went there for restaurant week to try a new place. Even though we’ve all live here, we’ve never been to your restaurant. Surprised by a cozy intimate bar with a piano player. Will have to come back for that alone. The food was yummy and the dessert was even better. Although the veal marsala was delicious, the veal chop took the top rating for the evening. And don’t forget about the cheesecake.
We went for restaurant week after seeing the chef on WBAL. We enjoyed everything we ordered. We will be coming back to try different things on the menu. A big plus was their private parking lot across the street from the restaurant.
Excellent food. Great service with a smile.
The veal chop was out of this world!
Can’t wait for the next time
Da Mimmos Is one of Baltimore’s greatest restaurants. The consistency of excellent food and service through the years is fantastic. Their signature dish, a delicious veal chop, is without comparison.
Along with beautiful decor, knowledgeable waiters and our incredible host Mary Ann, Every evening we have spent there has been a pleasure and delight. There is also A very accomplished piano player and singer in the bar area to entertain the diners all evening.
We recommend the restaurant Immensely.
We went during restaurant week. The shrimp appetizer was delicious. The cheesecake wasn't the traditional New York style, in a way it was better-not so rich you couldn't finish it. Our main courses were all very good. Our waiter's timing was perfect but I got the feeling he wasn't pleased having to serve "restaurant week" people.
As always, a fantastic evening at our favorite Baltimore restaurant. Food, service, ambiance are all first rate. Thank you for another night to remember!
We celebrated New Year ev e with friends. One of our favorite Italian restaurant. Drinks at the bar before dinner. Soft piano was playing. Excellent bartender handled a busy restaurant very efficiently. Two of us enjoyed delicious apps and veal tenderloin for dinner. Reasonable wine list. Just an enjoyable evening.
