At DaiLo, we believe eating well is a fundamental part of living well, and how we cook, reflects how we live. Thoughtful and high quality ingredients lead to better lives and more delicious meals. Our New Asian Cuisine is predominantly Chinese fare but it follows the French tradition. At the heart of the menu is a love and respect for the dishes Chef Nick Liu ate growing up as the son of Hakka parents in Canada, but importantly, they are the dishes his ancestors have been eating for hundreds of years. Ancient favourites are augmented by Liu’s signature flair and updated to suit the western palate and the modern demand for local and sustainable ingredients.

Exactly amazing as I expected. Be warned - the food is very particular in taste as it is a fusion blend. My friend and I both got DaiLo’s Choice (chef’s choice of $65 each) and it was quite filling; around 10 plates of different dishes total, providing excellent value. However, I found I actually prefer LoPan upstairs for its slightly more casual ambiance and the food is from the same kitchen. However, if you’re looking for something more delectable and fancy, DaiLo provides awesome value for the price. Dishes I would recommend: Hakka brown wontons, fried watermelon, trout as the main, octopus tacos, and definitely truffle fried rice.

Did the chef choice menu and I would give it 6 stars if I could. Food, staff, ambiance were all fantastic. Dailo is a really wonderful place.

Get the pumpkin dumplings and big mac bao! Just do it!

We had the Chef's selection which included most of the items on the menu. Everything was absolutely amazing!! Strange items I maybe would have hesitated to order like fried watermelon were outstanding!

I was in town for work but drove out of the way to try this place based on reviews. I was alone and did the tasting menu, which at 65 cad is a steal! They served so many courses I lost track, but I think it was 8 courses. So much food!

Chef was obviously skilled as everything was cooked to the right level. For example the octopus was amazingly tender yet meaty and the deck was super tender. The effort to combine flavors and texture was well done. The poached duck egg was magnificent but not everything worked out or maybe just didn’t suit my palate. One must have is the pork and shrimp wonton that was the chefs grandparents recipe. It was amazing!

Would definitely go again!

The food was quite good however the service was severely lacking compared to other finer dining establishments in the city. We spent a lot of time staring at empty plates and glasses.

Highlights: the Tom Yum cocktail, the truffle dumplings, and the octopus pork belly tacos - all three were absolutely outstanding. This restaurant's dishes are totally unique and it feels as though there was plenty of thought put into each ingredient. While some dishes were a little too out there, the risks that the chef takes result in wildly unique flavors (some of which are huge hits and some of which are not so much). The restaurant was fully booked so I definitely recommend making a reservation before going.

Dailo was amazing! Great spot for a date night or night out with friends. Great vibe and ambience. We had a chefs menu which was unbelievably diverse in flavours and a great value. We received duck as our main which wouldn’t have been my first choice but was still delicious and all other courses were mind blowing.

We had a little mixup with our reservation but staff were more than accommodating and considerate.

DaiLo came highly recommended by a friend who frequents the top restaurants in Toronto. DaiLo did not disappoint. We opted for the multi-course Chef Special (customized to our tastes) and every dish, starting with an amuse bouche of asparagus with scallop, to the hakka wontons, pumpkin dumplings, etc., etc. was a taste explosion in the mouth. The service was attentive and unpretentious. Our server, Shannon, walked us through what to expect and did not steer us wrong. We will DEFINITELY be regulars at DaiLo.

Nick is an artist and very talented chef who plays with your senses and juxtaposes and tastes and textures in way that only a creative artist can. Kavork and I give high marks and kudos to the chef, his masterful way and to his entire team.

Dailo was awesome! The tasting menu was incredible and so worth it for the amount of food you get! We were all very impressed with the creativity and flavour displayed in each course. Definitely will be back for another visit soon!

The first thing that stood out is their impeccable service! The staff is so warm and friendly and on top of the wonderful service the food was divine! It is definitely one of the top restaurants that we have visited. My only regret is not coming here sooner!

Very good Asian fusion dishes - really tasty and imaginative. The trout dish was the outstanding one of the evening. Good ambiance and service. The only modest criticism is that the food chilled rapidly as the dishes and plates were not hot and the aircon was quite high. But overall this was the best meal we had in our time in Toronto.

Went for our anniversary and had the tasters menu. Fun, lovely servers. Chef tailoredthe tasters menu to suit. The watermelon gazpacho, the octopus jicama taco, rich pumpkin dumplings, all excellent. Some citrus thing in a betel leaf also yummy. A lot of food. Going to return.

Wow. What a great restaurant. I've always heard great things, so I shouldn't have been surprised. The tasting menus are awesome, and the service comes across as very genuine, and non pretentious.

And thank you for having decently priced and interesting wines available by the glass. Tommy the server was excellent. He knew when to be there, and when not to be. The service was pleasant and courteous, and the food was so interesting and tasty that my date and I were literally talking about the meal for the rest of the night.

This is my new favourite restaurant.

Toronto has few better restaurants than this. DaiLo is one of those places that serves up deliciousness and surprise, along with a casual vibe.

Get the tasting menu. Prepare to have your mind blown by truffle ravioli, fried watermelon, and many other Asian-inspired delights.

Very imaginative menu. The fried watermelon is a must try. There is also a full fried trout. It's so good. makes you wonder why you never had that before elsewhere. Everything we had was great, so yeah, go there.

The food is absolutely amazing, as usual. The tasting menu is always a very nice treat! To be honest I was however was very disappointed with the level of the service which was definitely not up to the expectations and not up to the previous experiences.

The food was very good. Definitely worth getting the Dailo's Choice at $65/per person. The amount you get is worth the price. It's a lot of food and its great to try all the different menu items with all the assorted flavours. Great staff that explains everything given to you.
The only drawback is that the place is very loud. I personally didn't hear all the explanations because the place is just so noisy.
