First of all, our waiter was amazing and gave us great advice for things to do in Toronto! We did the tasting menu and all of the dishes were extremely well thought out and delicious. I would 100% recommend this to anyone coming to Toronto, but make sure to reserve well in advance because it’s very popular.
Extremely loud environment. Interesting menu and tasty choices. A bit overpriced when portion sizes are considered.
Excellent meal...great combinations of flavours and textures. One of the most knowledgeable and attentive staff I have had looking after me.
We did the set menu and it was pretty good, but the quail dish was not great and seemed undercooked. A little overpriced in my opinion, but overall the food was quite good and a good experience.
Our two mains the rice and cauliflower were cold. The starter we're good.
Overall a good dining experience. Service was excellent, attentive and warm. We got the chef's tasting menu at $65/pp, for a group of 5. We were stuffed by the end of the meal. Some dishes were better than others. Highlights included the pumpkin dumpling, and fried trout. Being of Chinese descent, the flavours were familiar but presented with a fresh take.
We really enjoyed our meal. We had the Chef's tasting menu which I would highly recommend. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable about the food & wine. And they were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions.
The food, the service, the ambience, every detail was amazing! Completely worth the prices, definitely go for the chefs menu!
Great experience. Not a huge fan of the cabbage, service was excellent and very nice wine list.
One of the beat meals I’ve had in ages..the combinations of flavors were amazing..definitely returning at my earliest convenience!!
Always order the tasting menu. Always fantastic and they always accommodate requested dishes. Service was wonderful on Wednesday. Super cute young lady who chatted with us about Sicily
Food was good, nothing amazing. The fish had good presentation. Service was patchy but overall a good restaurant.
Great food, wonderful service and got to meet a Top Chef Canada alum to boot. The food was tasty, creative and the servers were attentive but not intrusive. I would love to come back!
Excellent experience for all the senses. Outstanding outstanding service! Music, vibe, ambience amazing and a perfect match. Food was just incredible in every aspect. Every detail of the experience seemed purposeful and nothing was over looked. Adding to the experience was the conversations of other patrons enjoying the same details but in their own way. Family and friendly feel consistent throughout the entire restaurant. Incredible balance of all dining elements executed beyond any expectation.
The food is delicious and the decor is very cool. The restaurant is hidden away so you don't really see it from the street. It's a nice private place to eat. We had the tasting menu. The food was terrific and there were about 8 different courses. The service is good, but does not match the quality of the food - we waited 15 minutes after being seated to order our first drinks. Our only reservation was that the food arrived too quickly - we would have loved for the courses to be more spaced out. Also, after the main dish of ribs, we had a pallet cleanser which was our dessert - it was a very abrupt end to our meal...at other tasting menus I've had in the city, you receive a dessert and then the final little taste. It was delicious and refreshing, it would have been nice if they had explained that that concluded our meal. We didn't want more food, we just wanted a heads up that it would be the last dish. All in all, it was a great experience. Food is terrific, drinks are fantastic, ambiance is terrific, service is good. Would definitely come back again and recommend it to others.
The most superb gourmet Chinese/French food! Lovely to share with a group so one gets to taste several dishes. Wait staff, particularly Eden, very knowledgeable and friendly and provided excellent service.
Look forward to returning and can recommend highly! Thanks to all!
SO GOOD. Recommend going with the tasting menu, rarely say this but was actually TOO much food, was struggling to finish but well worth it.
Don't miss out on the:
- Big mac bao
- Pumpkin dumplings
- Hakka Brown Wontons
- Crispy Octopus Taco
Outstanding food...melody of flavor profiles in each bite
The Chef tasting menu is the way to go! Every cocktail was amazing. Can’t go wrong at this place
Disappointed. While the plates were beautiful to look at the flavours were underwhelming, and often boring or uninspiring. Some dishes came cold. space too noisy. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, too bad food didn’t hold its own. At almost $500 for 4 expected more.
We’re six people there the other night. The food was very good and tasty. In the past I didn’t like fusion food thinking it always lost its authentic taste. But it’s not the case at DaiLu. It was a pleasant experience for us.
Absolutely outstanding food and service and consistent.
Always delicious with consistently good service. Small plates allow you to share and try many different dishes. Yumm yumm!
Our Dinner at Dalio, Was a amazing experiece! Chefs menu the best choice ever the dishes were so well execute, presentation, flaviours, imagination all in harmony!!! Food was paired with our wine the service was so much detailed, all our food was presented ande described as they served, not time without water or wine in our glass, excellet !! Excellent expericence!!
Overall a very pleasant experience. Amazing food and service.
Great food with excellent, knowledgeable wait staff.
Had the tasting menu. Not inexpensive, but worth it.
Lots of great tastes and flavours.
Will go back!
This place is ALWAYS consistently amazing. I brought in my girlfriend (who’s celiac) who was in from NYC and they really went over and above. The food and service was incredible! Thank u sooooooo much guys u went over and above!
The food is always imaginative and delicious.
The interior design is one of the most beautiful in Toronto, Shanghai 1920s - I have never been but I imagine it like at Dailo
Fabulous restaurant. The food and service was amazing.
The food was good, things on the menu I never heard before like fried watermelon!
Not for kids.
Great meal. Attentive servers.
DaiLo has quickly become my favourite spots in the city. The food is incredible and cocktails creative. Here are my favourites: truffle fried rice, pumpkin dumplings, shrimp and pork dumplings, 90 day dry aged ribeye, Napa cabbage and of course THE BIG MAC BAO. Must try. Love the decor. Service is great.
This was my second visit this year. Had the Chefs menu both times and it's probably the only thing I would order because it is such an amazing experience. Think of it as a symphony orchestra for your taste buds
Overall had a good experience! Food was good, a lot of similar tasting notes in all the dishes. I wish it wasn’t the case! Service started off very well in the beginning. But fell off as the night progressed. Overall okay! Didn’t not live up to my personal expectation!
The tasting menu was delicious and all of the flavors were amazing. It was one of the greatest dining experiences we’ve ever been to!
We have been at the bar excellent service and the food was great. They suggested the menu and we really enjoyed!!!!!
One of my preferred spots in Toronto
Happy Valentine’s Day! This our umpteenth time going to Dai Lo for dinner, and I have to say it gets better just about every time we go.
Appetizers: Pumpkin Dumplings (absolutely the best appetizer for vegetarians, rich and sweet, garnished with truffle to give it an umami taste with the white rabbit candy glaze). If you’re feeling luxurious, get a bowl of sticky rice and pour on some of the glaze. Mercy.
Main: Fried Gigi Trout (a perfectly fried fish served with 3 dips; green curry, essentially Thai sauce and soy glaze)
delicious and more than enough for two.
Overall, one of the best places to eat delicious upscale Asian Fusion cuisine, or upscale food in general with the beautiful ambience to match. You won’t regret it! 🥂
Thoroughly disappointed from the moment we arrived. The hostess told us to wait outside in the cold because the restaurant wasn’t open until 5:30pm (then why created the first booking at 5:30 since people always arrived a few minutes before) I arrived there at 5:24pm.
The food was salty, especially the Sichuan Beef Gnocchi. The whole fried trout was covered with some sort of coating that looked like instant ramen noodles mixed spice.
After spending nearly $300, we left and went to La Carnita next door for real food.
Amazing food and service! Our server was very accommodating to my food intolerances and knowledgeable about the menu. The chef’s tasting menu was delicious!
Do not skip their appies and smaller plates! We opted for 3 appies and 2 mains between two, probably should have done just 1 main based on quantity, but Dailo's appies are so creative, they were the most unforgettable part of our meal. Special shoutouts to the burmese tofu. It blew us away.
