I had their chef's choice for dinner which was a wise decision because everything was good. The Canadian trout was filleted and then deep fried so that the skin and the bones were crispy. We consumed the whole fish. The octopus and pork belly on jicama taco was savory with a unique crunch, and two kinds of dumplings: one that had a zucchini stuffing, fried and the other with mixed meats, steamed with XO sauce. The tastes were a delightful blend of Cantonese and western, perhaps a little French influence. The service was very pleasant as the wait staff were knowledgeable about the food and enthusiastic about the institution - all good signs. The decor is unassuming but like all great Chinese restaurants, it is the cuisine and not the ambiance that is important. DaiLo means big brother in Cantonese and I gather the restaurant was named in honor of the chef's older brother.

We went for our tenth anniversary dinner, first time at DaiLo, and we had heard so much about it from friends. It did not disappoint in any way. Seated at the bar and under the skylight, it made for a great view and atmosphere for the evening. We ordered the chef's menu, each of the dishes a different flavour and burst of deliciousness, perfectly layered selection from the chef. They were more than generous with the amount of food and we left with full bellies and big smiles. This may well be our 'traditional' anniversary restaurant! (Oh, and the drinks, you want to try one from each section!)

Amazing food and outstanding experience! They built a sharing menu for our table that was absolutely incredible.
Coming in from Montréal, our expectations we high, and we were not disappointed. We had the degustation menu, all chosen by the Chef. Definitely the way to go at this place. The sommelier chose our wines to accompany this varied menu, which make the meal even better. He was excellent as was our waiter and the staff that accompanied him. This restaurant is a must, but do make reservations, Bon appetite.

A cozy and vibrant (or one might call it noisy) restaurant with an interesting menu. Fried Watermelon highly recommended: it was a fun experience to eat warm, lightly battered, tossed watermelon cubes. However, the other creative dishes were not that impressive:
1. The texture of the Burmese Tofu was mushy and didn’t taste like tofu.
2. The octopus in the Crispy Octopus Taco was chewy, and the combination of octopus and pork was strange and unjustified.
3. The Ontario Pea Dumplings should be renamed mushroom dumplings as one couldn’t taste the pea; the dish tasted more like a cream of mushroom soup.
4. The Hakka Brown Wontons were very salty due to the XO sauce.
5. The Grilled Baby Back Ribs were tender, but the flavour reminded one of Indian cuisine instead of Chinese.
The service was good, although the restaurant didn’t recognize the special occasion we had indicated upon booking that we’d be celebrating.
Presentation was beautiful and service was flawless, but food lacked flavor. Although we had high expectations based upon other reviews, we were very disappointed in the dishes we ordered, the trout and the ribs. Even the side sauces were lackluster and did not compliment the food. So sorry to post such a negative review, but that was our experience.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. My second visit and once again highly memorable. Asian fusion would be my description. Crunchy with sesame flavour. Fascinating twists in salads and wontons and steak. Wonderfully attentive service. Seated at bar. Great cocktails. Tasting menu highly recommended.

Fantastic restaurant- food was superb, service was incredible and attentive. We selected the tasting menu and they graciously catered to our food restrictions and edited the menu accordingly. The Sweat Pea dumplings were mouth-watering good. We brought guests from London, England who are used to great dining experiences and they were blown away by the creativity, mix of ingredients and breadth of international flavours that inspired each dish. Very special restaurant!
Food was fabulous (definitely recommend the chefs menu), the wine was divine.
Just be weary of the screaming toddlers if you book an earlier table. I get its family friendly, so c’est la vie. As soon as the table with 5 young children left, the atmosphere was great.
