At DaiLo, we believe eating well is a fundamental part of living well, and how we cook, reflects how we live. Thoughtful and high quality ingredients lead to better lives and more delicious meals. Our New Asian Cuisine is predominantly Chinese fare but it follows the French tradition. At the heart of the menu is a love and respect for the dishes Chef Nick Liu ate growing up as the son of Hakka parents in Canada, but importantly, they are the dishes his ancestors have been eating for hundreds of years. Ancient favourites are augmented by Liu’s signature flair and updated to suit the western palate and the modern demand for local and sustainable ingredients.

DaiLo Ratings and Reviews
We ordered the tasting menu for four people and asked for all options to be meatless. The selections are creative and delicious. Our server was outstanding and the bartender was also fabulous.
I had a great date with a sweet lady 🎖
The food was awesome!! My second time there orders the Chef choice. Love the surprise every time.
I was really excited to try DaiLo especially after dining at Niagara Street Cafe so often as the food there was special. I was very disappointed in every dish we ordered - all of the flavours were so dumbed down that the food was tasteless. I am not sure how you can achieve that with Peking duck! We will not be back which is a shame because the service was outstanding and the decor was inviting. I will stick to Richmond Hill for Chinese cuisine at a fraction of the price - not the same service but at least the food has some pop.
It's my second time at Dailo and once again I was impressed with the quality of the food and service. The deep fried whole Giggie Trout is a must-order!
The chef’s selection is the best choice so you get to try many different dishes. I recommend you ask them to slow down as the dishes came too fast and we weren’t finished the first one. They did slow down when we mentioned this.
For two people you have to get the tasting menu. They were very gracious and able to accommodate a non meat eater.
Fantastic food as always
Went for my dad's 65th birthday and everyone loved it. Staff were great about the vegetarian in the group, accommodating and pleasant. The food was all beautiful and delicious and the wine recommended to us was wonderful. Definitely special-occasion prices, but absolutely worth it!
I just don't get it. It was SO highly recommended. And yet...not great. First off, it's pricey. I ended up spending 150 bucks US for two people. Second, for that money, we left hungry. Seriously. There was just not enough food. And third, it is LOUD in there. Like the kind of loud where holding a basic conversation was impossible because the loud guy and loud girl three tables down carry through the whole place.
Maybe that's why the service was inconsistent. Maybe they couldn't hear us. And one of their big special things - the big mac bun - they didn't even tell us about. i saw it going by and flagged someone down to ask about it. It was good and also very expensive. But because it's off menu you really depend on the staff to clue you in. They didn't. I had to dig.
To top it all off, when we got home, my date got very...intestinally distressed. So, yeah all in, i get the idea of wanting to do asian fusion. But you should maybe get it somewhere else.
Food wasn’t as good as I thought it would be
Truly a great food spot with creative dishes and off menu gems. I was just disappointed we could not eat more as there was plenty to choose from that were very enticing. Lambs neck was fantastic and really tasty as was the jellyfish slaw. The bone marrow off menu item looked great but we were done for and could not order. Highly recommend and will be back the next time I am in Toronto.
Outstanding meal. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Strong wine and cocktail list that accompanies a delicious menu.
We had the Chef's Tasting Menu and it was amazing. One of the best meals we have had!
A great food experience
Fabulous, innovative food. The octopus tacos were incredible- who would ever think of using jicama slices as a tortilla! And the trout was a work of art and delicious, with three sauces to compliment the fish. We were surprised to read the few negative reviews on Open Table - obviously folks who didn't appreciate Asian fusion with a flare. This restaurant is a must if you are in the area!
Delicious as always.
The food was overall just ok. I was hoping for a more interesting food experience.
This is our favourite restaurant in the whole city. Always perfect!! Such a treasure of dishes new and old favourites
It was a really bad experience. I didn’t order the tasting menu. The octopus taco was okay then all the other I had was really bad. Especially the Peking Glazed Duck! It’s not Peking duck and it’s $49. I barely ate it. Then the waiter asked me how the duck was. I said it’s really bad. Then the waiter asked me DO YOU WANT ME TO BAG IT? I was kind of surprised by his question. My friend and I each had one small piece of the duck and left the rest on the table. When I had the check, the waiter asked me again if I want to bag it. I paid $50 plus tax for a really unpleasant Peking duck and didn’t even eat it. I think DaiLo should at least offer to remove the duck from the bill because that’s called serviced!
Thoroughly enjoyed the distinctive flavours and detail in this cultural tastebud explosion! Well done!!
We chose the Tasting Menu which is reasonably priced at $65.00. Some dishes were on the menu while others were at the chef's discretion. I found a few of the dishes were similar in ingredients but slight different taste, not a lot of variety, just cooked different ways. Most of the dishes were good. The last two dishes which were served together were contrasting - One was gnocchi with bits of beef and Hen of the Woods mushroom and the other was the jelly fish slaw. The gnocchi dish was very salty which made the jelly fish slaw "flavourless", although it wasn't. I was a little disappointed that I did not get to try the Truffle fried rice. My favourite dishes were the Pomelo Betel Leaf, Cripsy Octopus Taco and the fried blossom with shrimp paste. There was also a wonton dish which was quite delicious. On my next visit I would rather select the dishes I wanted to taste rather than go for the tasting menu.
Very attentive servers, great recommendations, great knowledge of wine & food. Would recommend.
Amazing food, keep it up. Wait staff were great and informative, seemed overwhelmed with amount of guests per server though
My favourite restaurant in Toronto, hands down. Spent almost 2 decades in the arts and culture sector in NYC, and can't think of a restaurant that I love more.
Food changes with their seasonal menu, but the dishes are always incredible. I also love that their truffle dishes contain ACTUAL SHAVED TRUFFLES, unlike most restaurants in Toronto which use a truffle oil and similar flavourless substitute. Service was great as usual.
Best restaurant I've ever been to. Absolutely incredible. Service is unreal.
really awesome, great food, great service, i wanted to come back the next day
One of the most fantastic meals I've ever eaten. The variety of flavours within each dish was incredible. We absolutely loved it, and the prices were very reasonable. The service was also top notch!
One of our new fav spots! Amazing food! They aim to please!
Our dinner at Dailo was great. They accommodated my husband allergies perfectly. Service was superb and the food is just incredible
Great food and service as usual. Patio a bit busy with traffic but interesting people watching. Definitely try the chefs choice. At $65 it is worth the price. Love the pea dumplings and all the various sauces.
Excellent. The food was amazing and the service outstanding. Will definitely go back!
Went on an early dinner on a Saturday night, 2 couples. From start to finish we had a great experience - the service was really good and the food was fabulous. We chose to have the Dailo's Choice to skip picking our own and we highly recommend this as it gives you the best of the best and you will not leave hungry. Dailo is one of our new top 3 restaurants in town!
Fantastic dining experience. The tasting menu was a treat with many tasty surprises. The cocktail that the barman created was incredible. The ingredients that the restaurant uses are very high quality and locally sourced.
We went for the tasting menu which samples most of the wonderful menu. All the dishes were remarkable with nice flavours and interesting combinations of ingredients. This is a must if you want to sample Asian flavours but in a original way.
Fantasy food and great service in a hip setting. Will definitely go back.
Amazing good and service
Try the beef carpaccio, the pea dumpling ... the duck ...everything out of this world!
Delicious, delicious, delicious! One of the best places to eat in all of Toronto.
The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. Loved the ambiance too.
