    Excellent meal from appetizers thru dessert. Very nice overall environment.Waiter either was new or really doesn't understand proper techniques on waiting tables. Eg. Serving across the table for 3 in lieu of from behind each guest is a no no. Appetizers put on table with no plate for guests to eat from showed lack of training or ability. Tried to rush us too much as soon as we sat down. Left menus on adjoining table chair " in case we wanted to look back at them!" ??? Anyway enjoyable meal, just surprised at lack of upscale professionalism by waiter.

    Everything from the cocktails through the appetizer, steaks and dessert, the meal could not have been more delicious or well presented. The service and the atmosphere were without fault. An extraordinary overall experience.

    I had the waygu ribeye which was cooked perfectly with an amazing flavor. My wife had the snapper and it was so good that I might do that next time we visit. The deserts were delicious and sized for Texans. Our service was also very good.

    Went to DAKOTAS in Tyler tonite for my. Birthday dinner. We always go there for Birthdays and anniversaries and lunches a lot. I love their sea bsss and my husband loves their lamb. But tonite they outdid their selves. The food was even even better than I ever had it. I had the shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were huge so I wanted a Cesar salad and added shrimp and that was fantastic. If you haven’t been there you should go. We’ve always known it was great and didn’t realize it could be better —- but it did. Our waitress - Gabby was excellent and friendly. When you do go there, please ask for her. She’s grest. This was my post on Facebook last nite.

    That’s bad experience there. I made a reservation at 7:30pm, and I am there earlier around 7:00 pm , waiting in the lobby for 30 mins and then the hostess just host the walk-in customer to have table first !! ! When I ask why they can have table without reservation, the hostess said I thought you want booth. She never ask me want table or booth? Keep me waiting in lobby!!! What’s the purpose for making reservation for????

    Food was amazing and plated well. Oysters were delicious. I also ordered the lamb and that was phenomenal. Server Candace was also amazing and attended to us when needed. Would definitely come back here again.

    Celebrating our grandson receiving his college acceptance to his number one school and the family visiting us for the first time in Tyler. Meal was delicious from the appetizers to the entrees. Everyone enjoyed it thoroughly and loved the restaurant.

    Enjoyed our anniversary dinner here and it did not disappoint. We've placed Dakota's on our list for special dinners. Bang Bang Shrimp was amazing for our starter! We also enjoyed our salmon dishes - easily subbed rice out for cream spinach. It was all delish and we will be back soon! O, took home complimentary slice of cheesecake to enjoy as well! Thank you Dakota's. :)

    This was the third time we dined at Dakotas and had an issue with the temperature of our steaks. If they can only prepare steak at the correct temperature by butterflying it then say that and allow us to make an informed decision about our meal. I would have ordered the red snapper if that were the case and not paid for the wagyu that I took home and finished cooking. I asked for medium plus and it was rare. The server checked all of the boxes but had zero personality for our table but was not the same with her other tables. Not sure if I will return in the near future.

    Service was excellent. Food was mediocre. My pecan crusted seabass was well cooked, but I don’t think it was pecan crusted and it was very under seasoned. The sides, asparagus and sautéed mushrooms, were bland. Nothing exceptional about the meal.

    Steak was average, but not worth $50+. I had the garlic mashed potatoes and they tasted like they had no seasoning at all, as well as the carrot the plate came with. Came here for a date with my wife, but it’s dimly lit, loud, and the tables are oddly too long. We felt like we couldn’t really talk to each other, because of the distance between us due to the table, the noise level in the room, and the proximity of other guests. It felt like we had to shout just to have a conversation. Save yourself the trouble and go to a bar, where you can sit next to each other and spend way less money for the same quality of food/drinks. This place isn’t it. The positive I have to say is the service was excellent. Our server was attentive, but not overbearing. We left a generous tip, because it isn’t his fault the establishment sucks.

    Food was way over cooked and had to be sent back by multiple people at our table. The steaks were charred on the outside which made them hard to eat. Waiter was ok and nice. But food was really bad. Wish we would have went somewhere else for our anniversary. Probably won’t good back here again.

    Dakotas is always a nice evening. Our steak was perfect, and sides done right — Brussel sprouts crispy but not overdone, scalloped potatoes creamy, and baked potato light and fluffy.

    This is our third time eating at this restaurant. The first experience was very good. We had a booth, great wait service, good food, and the ambiance was great. The second time, we were told that all booths had been reserved, even though I had reserved a booth for that evening through the app for our wedding anniversary celebration. We stayed and were seated at a table, that was in a direct pathway to the view of the kitchen. As we were sitting there, I noticed that none of the booths were being occupied during our time in the restaurant. Yet we were told that those areas had already been reserved for the evening. We had decided to not return to the restaurant, but after a year or so, we decided to give them another try. We were able to get seating today @ 3:15pm, with a private booth, as requested. But then we had to ask for bread and butter, which we were told that it was not available until after 5:00pm, the waiter had looked, hoping to be able to get us some bread before that time. Then they brought our food out, a salad for my wife and the Wagyu ribeye, with whipped potatoes and no baby carrots! We were told that they had no more baby carrots and I could opt for another side. I chose the macaroni and cheese and had to wait for it to be baked. The macaroni and cheese did not taste very good. All the while trying to eat our meal, we had to deal with a fly or a gnat that constantly harrassed us. Not very satisfied with our overall service so far!

    The whole experience was wonderful. My husband and I were celebrating my birthday. The service was awesome, she suggested the Akaushi Wagyu Ribeye steak. It was the best steak I have ever had.

    Our filet and pork chop were outstanding. The baked bread is to die for! Our waiter, Craig, was friendly and very personable. Overall one of the best dining experiences we’ve had.

    Had our first date there last night. Service was best I've had in a long while (and as a former server, I'm picky). Food was fantastic, and the ambiance was perfect. I recommend a cocktail in the secluded bar before... Nice atmosphere. We will not hesitate to go back again. Date went SUPER!

    Really good food. Started out with mushrooms and then a chop house salad. Steak was ordered medium but was more medium rare. It was still very good, and I definitely ate all of it! Subbed the mashed & asparagus for scalloped potatoes and broccoli. Very good scalloped potatoes. Finished off with an amazing creme brulee.
